Man The Grudge on part one was amazing... the screem was so awesome... Maynard looked straight up with the mic pointed in the air and the lights were flashing and stuff...it was incredible.

Dissectional88 04-03-2005 12:11 PM

Has anyone heard anything about Maynard finding jesus, and now he probably wont even finish the new album....Toolband.com says its not a prank. if it is indeed not a prank then what a shame.

Kage 04-03-2005 12:11 PM
I just put up some T00L covers I did on my soundclick page if your waiting for the real deal to finish downloading>>> stinkfist, swampsong, the patient,4 degrees,pu**** etc.

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/9/markmattermusic.htm

The first 8 songs on the page are originals if your interested...
I know you posted this awhile ago, but I just got around to listening to it. I've only listened to Stinkfist so far, but it's damned good! Nice job.

clearvision 04-03-2005 12:13 PM

Yeah it was good....

...Kage what do you think of bite the hand that feeds? I think it's great and i hope the enw album takes this direction (I know you've heard it)...what do others think?

Kage 04-03-2005 12:17 PM

I really like The Hand That Feeds, and it's even better in context of the whole album. Actually, the album wasn't too much like THTF, that's sort of the straight-up rocker in the album, whereas most of the other songs venture off into more NIN-y territory. I'll be the first to tell you, though, that the new album is incredible.

Check this thread for my shitty review of it as well as related discusion.

Meh, i only like selected songs on TDS and haven't ventured to the fragile yet. I have so much music that needs listening to, New mudvayne, some skold stuff, deftones albums, Bjork and the peach album lol. But i was hoping this album would be more straight up industrial rock like manson or rammstein :(

My first suggestion is that you get the Fragile immediately. I have a feeling that if you didn't like TDS before, you will after TF. Even if you don't, you should like TF. Maybe you won't, though.

It's never really been NIN's place to be straight up anything. It's one of the things I love about them, so if THTF was indicative of the rest of the album, I'd be a little dissapointed. There's a lot of different elements that come together on the new album, even though it might be the hardest 'rocking' yet.

Darkness 04-03-2005 01:33 PM

I've never heard ANY Nin songs... I've only heard good things about them though, can anybody recommened me something?

Podge 04-03-2005 01:37 PM

i dont listen to them much but i'd recomend: hurt, the day the whole world went away, and head like a hole

Adam Jones is GOD 04-03-2005 01:39 PM
Just to point out, I like NIN. Im just doing an alt/indie style pointless bashing and probing for reaction
I didn't even bother starting starting with you because I know you're smarter than that. ;)

Adam Jones is GOD 04-03-2005 02:32 PM

Wsh you hadnt mentioned NIN though. i thought I could clear a few albums off my 'To buy' list. Now i've got more to add.

Kage 04-03-2005 02:33 PM

heh.... good I'm glad, although you've got clearvision to thank for that :p

How many albums are your list at the moment?

You're missing "The Big Come Down". I love that song.
It's from The Fragile if you wanna download it.

Adam Jones is GOD 04-03-2005 02:37 PM

5 bands that must get any album from (as none in my collection yet)
Then ther are a lot of ones that I have heard and want more of, or album collections that need finishing, orbands that I need to hear newer/older stuff of.

Im pretty sure im past the 20 point. Plus I should really write a list down, instead of attempting to commit it to memory

ThePatient 04-03-2005 02:38 PM

I'm getting The Fragile right now, and on the first disc I got, "We're In This Together" is definetly my favorite so far. But its also the track I'm on. :p

 That's exactly what I do. I've actually sat down once and starting writing one up, but it never fell through for some reason.

I think there's about 30 albums I want to buy right now, but I'd be damned if I could tell you what they are off the top of my head, save for maybe ten of them.

Moses 04-03-2005 02:45 PM

I started listening to tool like three months ago and I bought all their cd's except salival.

I dont think they have a "bad" song

(i also like NIN btw)

ThePatient 04-03-2005 02:49 PM

You need to get your hands on Salival, Third Eye and Push!t are better on that than the studio versions, IMO.

clearvision 04-03-2005 03:09 PM

Noway, they go on for too long...plus the studio version of push!t is their second best song behind no quarter...

ThePatient 04-03-2005 03:10 PM

They do go on for a long time, but since I always listen to them on my computer, I skip around.

Moses 04-03-2005 03:18 PM

I heard salival costs like 300 bucks on ebay but I dont know I might have been shat on.

maybe someone could transfer it by aim.

clearvision 04-03-2005 03:19 PM

^It is pricey, however, not that pricey. I reccomend downlaoding the audio cd.

Huber 04-03-2005 03:19 PM

It is pricey. The DVD is something like 150, not sure about VHS. I've been watching eBay auctions for Salival myself....

Moses 04-03-2005 03:21 PM

I was shat on.....

Yeah if someone could transfer it via aim to me that'd be fabulastic.

My aim is letmypeopleho69.

Kage 04-03-2005 03:21 PM
You need to get your hands on Salival, Third Eye and Push!t are better on that than the studio versions, IMO.
Eh, I like the studio version of Pushit much better than the live one, and both Third Eyes are great.

Podge 04-03-2005 03:23 PM

can anyone put up part 2 of the concert on yousendit by anychance? i stupidly didnt save it when i downloaded it last night and now im depressed, anyway if anyone can send it it would be very much appreciated

Moses 04-03-2005 03:25 PM

Holy crap Third Eye live..... I can just imagine the eargasm

yeah I was immediatly hooked on Tool. I've never bought four cds by one band in a row in less then 2 months.

I think the same thing might happen with Opeth soon.

Darkness 04-03-2005 06:54 PM

^Third eye live is awesome... it was played on the Oklahoma show and was very well done. And Opeth kicks ***... go buy all of there cds in less then 2 months aswell...
Just wondering does anyone know if adam has played with any other bands, I know the rest of the members have and I was just wondering has adam?
He has toured and played with Melvins on the last few albums. He does some awesome work on the latest, Pigs of the Roman Empire.

SeAmoNKeY 04-03-2005 09:26 PM

I don't believe this...Maynard?....Jesus? This can't be true. But the webmaster already said it wasn't a prank. Does anyone know anything more?

Kage 04-03-2005 09:30 PM
I think Pushit is way better live than studio. Maynard's voice always sounds better live, IMO.
I thought the live version was too pretentious and dragged on too long, but I'll have to listen to it more to get into it, maybe.

SeAmoNKeY 04-03-2005 09:32 PM
For the last time, dude. IT'S NOT TRUE. It WAS a prank. If it was true, don't you think everybody in this thread would be freaking out?
sorry man, ive been without net access for a close to a week and this stuff all hit me at once. I was jsut sifting through all the posts up to this point.

I have been into Opeth for a while but havent had any money :upset:
what I did have was spent on Tool.

One band at a time.
It is pricey. The DVD is something like 150, not sure about VHS. I've been watching eBay auctions for Salival myself....
I think most of us who don't own it already are always on the lookout. Anyway, how often, if ever, do mint condition copies of Salival come up on eBay. I've seen mint VHS versions, but I already know I want the DVD. If anyones seen any around, let me know, I'm after one.

And yes, I know that it will cost far more than an opened copy, I am willing to pay the extra.
