its quite different from their other albums, it has a pretty big psychedelic influence like from 13th Floor Elevators and stuff like that as far as I can tell. It's really good.

witchxrapist 03-26-2010 03:20 PM

Damn, I need to get it.

Nepenthe 03-26-2010 03:20 PM

eh i usually hate when stuff takes 'psychedelic influences' but its sparowes so its gotta be good

Ventriloquist 03-26-2010 09:02 PM

EITS sucks balls. The Psyke PRoject were great. I bought Daikini on Vinyl and got it signed and chat around with the danish folks for 15 - 20 minutes. Cool dudes. The singer screamed without the mic at some point, it was siq.

apparently there's a new Year of No Light record out on April 26th

Ventriloquist 03-28-2010 07:26 AM

sweeet

sappukei 03-28-2010 09:45 AM

EITS were highly enjoyable to me several years back but looking at them now... eh...

bwnstl 03-28-2010 02:46 PM

They might not be that great now, but go back and listen to "How Strange, Innocence" and "The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place." Pretty fantastic albums I think. But then, I've always had a soft spot in my heart for EITS, especially since they got me into post-rock.

I'm excited if Year of No Light is indeed releasing an album soon, although I wouldn't really classify them as "post rock." "Nord" was fantastic, as was both songs on the split with East of the Wall and Rosetta. Kind of a shame that the only song Rosetta contributed to that split was a Cure cover.
Speaking of Rosetta, hugely excited for their new album in May.
And **** you Txus, you lucky son of a bitch. Definitely jealous that you're in the Northeast where they're coming around.

Ventriloquist 03-28-2010 03:26 PM

Earth is not a cold.... was a good album but idk it's not cool if you do the same same formula for each album, with the same guitar tones and drumming.

Nepenthe 03-28-2010 03:27 PM

we have them to thank for inventing the most uninteresting and oft copied brand of post rock

Ventriloquist 03-28-2010 03:29 PM

in other news i'm going to see 65daysofstatic on may. should be interesting.

witchxrapist 03-28-2010 03:38 PM

I still like Explosions In The Sky, keep asserting that they suck, I might agree...

Nepenthe 03-28-2010 03:39 PM

they suck

Ventriloquist 03-28-2010 04:48 PM

Ben Sharp is ridiculously underrated. Cloudkicker is so awesome.

Ventriloquist 03-31-2010 08:17 PM

they need to sell some merch over here too. i emailed their rep and he said that the best he could do is his gf is coming to new york and she could mail me it once she gets there, but it'd be $35 after all that
