Me three

Electric Wizard = Awesome

ATM 06-23-2007 08:50 AM

I was listening to We Live and it zoned me out so bad when I was driving home from work the other day.

RetiredAt21 06-23-2007 08:54 AM

I'm listening to Kylesa. So good.

the2stranger 06-23-2007 09:22 AM

Some good ol' Mar De Grises for me.
Excellent doom/death from Peru.
Very powerfull, They should release a new album.

metal-militia 06-23-2007 12:04 PM

Does anyone here like Electric Wizard's self titled debut? It's quite different to the following albums but I like it just as much.

Txus 06-23-2007 12:21 PM

Do you have the Mar de Grises Demo, Peter?

the2stranger 06-23-2007 12:27 PM

No I don't, is it any good?

And it's such ashame that the vocalist/keyboardist left.
I think that's why they're takig such a long time for the new album, or I don't even know if they started writing actually. :-\

np: Jesu - Your Path To Divinity
\m/

Txus 06-23-2007 12:40 PM

Nice NP!

And the demo is pretty good, 2 new amazing songs. You should get it \m/

So what are everyone's thoughts on the new Reverend Bizarre?

Apocalyptic Raids 06-25-2007 11:23 AM

Isn't it supposed to be their final release? Shame that, I always thought they were one of, if not the best of the newer Trad Doom bands.

How is it?

edit: oh my god the name of it is ridiculous. III: So Long Suckers? ugh what the **** were they thinking?

AA-12 06-25-2007 11:24 AM

I haven't heard.

Txus 06-25-2007 12:26 PM

Me neither, I'll download it later today...hope it's good.

pate 06-25-2007 12:50 PM

It's really good, but it's just too ****ing long overall. 3 half-hour tracks, 3 15 minute tracks, and a couple short ones.

I mean, it's good, but like the first track, which is 30 minutes, has at least 20 of the same riff being played over and over, without vocals.

Shattered_Future 06-25-2007 02:09 PM

Yeah, that's what dragged it down for me. Too freaking long. And it's not put together well enough...songs have parts that go on for MUCH too long.

metal-militia 06-25-2007 02:57 PM

I'm making my way through it at the moment and I like it. I don't think it's as good as In the Rectory though. I'm glad I managed to catch theit last ever UK show, they were superb.

Jondur 06-26-2007 03:43 AM

I haven't heard it yet. I'll buy it when it's out though. While "In The Rectory" will always be their magnum opus, I think they've been consistently a great band for 10 years. They deserve all their sucess - they're good guys, bit strange maybe, but nice guys. I have good memories of the gigs I've done with them and the ones where I've just been drunk in the audience.

Best new doom band though? I don't think so. that would be Warning.

RetiredAt21 06-26-2007 07:32 AM

Anyone like Grief?

NP: Warning - Faces

Best buy I did this year.

AA-12 06-26-2007 09:15 AM

Grivf

I still remember picking up the demo like a year ago. The most tormented, dark, evil, oppressing music i've ever heard.

Warning are good, but I still prefer Reverend Bizarre. Also I really enjoy the stuff I've heard from the Lamp of Thoth, I'll have to buy their demo.

I have Grief's Miserably Ever After and it's allright, nothing special.

So good.

Nepenthe 06-26-2007 04:21 PM

Grief rules. Torso is a killer album.

You heard Noosebomb?

Txus 06-26-2007 05:38 PM

Yep, Grief are pretty good.

Do you guys like Nebula? I bought an abum today and it's really good ****!

NemesisDivina 06-26-2007 09:03 PM

NP: October Tide- 12 Days of Rain

really cool stuff.

What's Big Business like? I'm seeing them tomorrow with Tool.

Kage 06-26-2007 09:04 PM

Noisy, especially live. It's distorted bass and drums. Pretty amusing, but you'll probably either love it or hate it depending on what you can get into.

NemesisDivina 06-26-2007 09:05 PM

I'm pretty tolerant of a lot of stuff. I'm gonna download an album from them just so I have a preview before I go to the show.

pate 06-26-2007 09:16 PM

I've heard of BB but never checked them out. They're a 2-piece, right?

Kage 06-26-2007 09:17 PM

Yeah. Ever heard Ruins?

NemesisDivina 06-26-2007 09:18 PM
I've heard of BB but never checked them out. They're a 2-piece, right?
yeah, both of their members are from the melvins

pate 06-26-2007 09:21 PM

Nope.

Yeah, I knew they joined the Melvins.
