I have a soft spot for Once Upon Your Dead Body, just because of that nice melodic guitar line.

Riziger 11-29-2006 10:56 AM

hmmm, i kinda thought GA was really good. or maybe coz it was my first coheed album so i listened to it a whole lot more than the other 2. I really like IKSOSE tho, really enjoyable album with suffiecient complexity and structure to the songs.

SSTB was good as well but the recording quality kinda lets it down a bit.

lol i thought all 3 albums were really really good, 3 of the best albums i've bought ever.

hehe or maybe it's just the fanboyism.

neverender 11-29-2006 11:35 AM
I just hope it's not as overproduced, and incorporates the whole band more rather than just a lot of guitar.

Vol I was nice in chunks. I kinda had to force myself to listen all the way through.

Strong start, strong ending, but the middle only had a few solid songs.
I dunno why you think that :x The bass riffs on vol1 are awesome imo (and very much a big part of the music), mic has a really great sounding style... and the way he plays with the bass drum compliments the drumming a lot...Maybe you need a better subwoofer :D

Having said that I had to force myself to listen all the way through the first few times (i bought it after hearing welcome home and the suffering), but after a few listens it's now one of my favourite albums.... each to his own i guess tho :chug:

really nto sure about the next album with new bass and drums :/

Neoteric 11-29-2006 01:28 PM

Umm... that was one of the only instances I've listened to an album a few times through the first time I got it.

lunchforthesky 11-29-2006 04:16 PM
Hahaha, that's awesome Cob.

Anyways, any news on when GA Vol II is gonna start recording?

And is the PFI album worth getting?
its definately worth having but not worth paying money for.

TMA 12-02-2006 01:24 AM
All GA really was was guitar.
Dude, feel free to repeat that when you come to me and play me the drums in either The Telling Truth or The Writer Writing :thumb:

TurnTheOtherWay 12-04-2006 04:33 PM

yay Coheed! :)

I know this hasn't been brought up for at least 10 pages, but I've only encountered 4 people in my school that I know like Coheed. I was already good friends with two of them before I discovered their C&C passion. One of the other kids who likes them is absolutely obsessed with Claudio, maybe even more than Ian (like, he either has a C&C or PFI shirt on more often than not), and one of them is a chick who brought up Coheed one day in class, who I'm actually trying to date right now. Most everyone else I bring them up to is either like, "eww i hate his voice" or "I like Welcome Home but everything else is poopy". Heathens.

Claudio is Jesus. srsly.

lunchforthesky 01-06-2007 06:46 PM

So whats going on with the line up changes, i heard the dillinger drummer is doing their next album.

In other news Second Stage Turbine Blade is about a million times better than all their other albums.

Neoteric 01-06-2007 06:50 PM

Their first album is probably my favourite (name escapes me right now).

DJ Ducksauce 01-06-2007 09:32 PM

The Second Stage Turbine Blade that be.

Argh.

I mean CHAR!

Neoteric 01-07-2007 02:20 AM

Yes, I only understand Charmander language.

And yeah, it clicks with me now.

Riziger 01-17-2007 04:36 AM

holy ****, i just got The Last Supper.

cant even begin to describe how awesome it is...

hey, you're not cory! 01-19-2007 02:09 PM

Is the front cover supposed to symbolize the rhythm sections departure from the band?

neverender 01-25-2007 11:18 AM

Why do so many coheed "fans" only like sstb?

All 3 albums are awesome, the latter 2 better produced... theyre relatively similar musically, so I can only assume its an attempt to look "old school" (how cool are you).

Its a downhill slope now mic and josh have gone though :( :( :( :(

B 01-25-2007 11:46 AM

no the third album sucks

sstb and iksose are good

Neoteric 01-25-2007 11:54 AM

No way! The third one's my favourite :(

hey, you're not cory! 01-25-2007 01:19 PM

In Keeping Secrets... > Second Stage > Good Apollo, Vol. 1

I think people probably prefer SSTB the most because it is the most musically accessible.

neverender 01-25-2007 01:23 PM
In Keeping Secrets... > Second Stage > Good Apollo, Vol. 1
I agree with that, but most of them say SSTB=good, others =****... just seems like theyre trying to make some kind of stupid childish statement.

All 3 are very good albums!

hey, you're not cory! 01-25-2007 01:33 PM

Oh I like them all, its just that from like 6-8 on Apollo bore me.

And I'm iffy about their new cd.

It's not about how old school you seem, but when you listen to all 3 of them, it really stands out as different and more interesting than the other 2.

All 3 have their epic songs though.

And GA was a let down(face step step down).

IKSSE:3 was my first Coheed album, and I loved it to death, but yeah, SSTB is more accessible than the others.

Eliminator 01-25-2007 04:47 PM

good apollo blows

lunchforthesky 01-26-2007 03:59 AM

Second Stage and In Keeping Secrets are both great.

Good Apollo sucks

neverender 01-26-2007 07:56 AM

So you don't like a single song on the album? Some of the songs like welcome home, the suffereing and the willing wells were awesome, they felt like the perfect progression on a new album...

just cause there's a couple weak songs doesn't mean the album sucks, dont be so elitist.

Riziger 01-26-2007 09:05 AM

Hmm, for the umpteenth time i'll say this.

I like all 3 albums, altho maybe not equally. They each give something different.

SSTB gives that raw, unpolished sound. IKSOSE3 i feel is more towards pop-punkish with really nice sing-along style songs. GA is more technically oriented and maybe a bit of metal influence, I think it's heavier and darker too.

I think my fave is IKSOSE3 cos of the amount of songs i love on it. However, how can any Coheed fan seriously not like Welcome Home? Definitely my fav coheed song. GA maybe has a few weak songs but in the end i think it's still awesome.

B 01-26-2007 01:33 PM

GA has a couple mediocre songs at best lol

lunchforthesky 01-26-2007 02:03 PM

Not one song on there is anywhere near the standard of everyhting on SSTB and IKE, had they not made those albums they maybe i would like GA but unluckily for them they did make those albums.

Eliminator 01-26-2007 02:46 PM

good apollo, i'm burning fag IV u

Grohlthegreat 01-27-2007 04:40 AM

IKSOSE3 was the first CD of CoCa i got physically. Good Apollo... is shit compared to IKSOSE3

neverender 02-03-2007 07:51 AM

in your opinion :p
