My ex-girlfriend got me into them. Pretty Beatles-esque but with a definite American pop edge, if I remember rightly. I think they reminded me a little of Phoenix. I still have a couple of their songs lying around somewhere. |
I'm loving the General Patton vs the X-Ecutioners CD right now.
|
Got a pretty local bands CD, they are called Underdog, and it's rather good, nice acoustic-y rock-y stuff.
|
im diggin both the Pj Harvey cd's i picked up suggested to me by you kind folk

I just stumbled upon this compilation that I've had for a while entitled "Music From the Land of The Vampires." It includes 11 different Transylvanian folk songs and 11 poems recited by some British guy. I believe the music is performed by street bands, but I'm not sure.
Really interesting stuff, when you're in the mood for romantic, morose music. |

Shhh! I haven't heard of a lot of the bands mentioned here either, so I -get this- check them out to see what they sound like! You'll see, it's quite effective in knowing about bands that you didn't know about before. |
I've bought Television's "Marquee Moon" today. Great, great, great.
|
Another gomez day.. I can't get enough of this album.
Dammit I need to get Liquid Skin. |
I've been listening to Saetia and Murder by Death today.

Lately I have been diggin' DFA 1979's new album and Head Automatica
|
I found an old cassette the other day that my parents made about twenty years ago. It had a ton of Elvis Costello on it, which I like. I heard Watching The Detectives and I got hooked. Tomorrow, I plan to buy "My Aim Is True."

"!Fire in the hole!" and "LOL !Losers On line!" are two of the finest points on that album. Besides all the hip-hop Fantomasy things they do. |
Latley I've been listening to Andrew Bird, the Arcade Fire, Animal Collective
The Unicorns, and Built to Spill (Perfect from now on) they are all amazing. |
