Vendetta Red got radio play around here a couple years ago. They played the song Shatterday quite a bit.
The new record is really poppy. I'm thinking it has to do with them being on Epic.

Thats another thing that bugs me about my town we don't have one decent radio station.

Neither do we. The station that played Vendetta Red used to be decent. They played some good music. But now all they play is Nu Metal and Nirvana.

And poppy doesn't bother me... I'm sure I'll like the new album.

cbmartinez 09-04-2005 08:07 PM

Have you heard "Silhouette Serenade?" Probably one of the poppiest songs they've written.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-04-2005 08:07 PM

Ya I've heard a song off the new album I'm sure I will love it too. Ya we just got like one classic rock station that really plays garbage classic rock then one that plays Metallica all day.

Mute Print 09-04-2005 08:08 PM

No, I haven't.

Thats the song I heard off their new CD.

cbmartinez 09-04-2005 08:12 PM

The lyrics are incredible though.

"Oh holy grace, they made love to your face with a box cutter and the phantoms they crawl at your door."

One of the songs is also called "The Great Castration." Gives you an idea of what the lyrics are like.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-04-2005 08:14 PM

Haha ya I guess so. I love lyrics like that I really want this CD now.

cbmartinez 09-04-2005 08:16 PM

On the front it has this huge "Parental Advisory: Strong Language, Sexual + Violent Content."

DepthsOfDreams555 09-04-2005 08:16 PM

Haha I have to get it then I'm not going to download it have to buy it. Is it bigger than a regular PA sticker.

We've got one station that plays death metal at 11 some nights.

Death metal vocals (I don't mind deep devil screaming, and frog screaming isn't horrible, but there needs to be range in the vocals, like Conducting From The Grave, or Wings Of Scarlet) always pissed me off though. Just lifeless crap. And heavy music needs breakdowns. Bleh.

cbmartinez 09-04-2005 08:18 PM
Haha I have to get it then I'm not going to download it have to buy it. Is it bigger than a regular PA sticker.
Yeah, a bit.

That's what confuses me though. It seems like Epic wanted them to write more poppy, radio singles for this album but it being parental advisory and having such explicit content is going to bring sales down alot..

DepthsOfDreams555 09-04-2005 08:19 PM

Not for me I'm buying it!

Ha, it surprises me how many albums get parental advisories.

The Jack's Mannequin CD even got one. I would have never expected that...

DepthsOfDreams555 09-04-2005 08:21 PM

Ya tell me about it, I wouldn't expect that to have a PA sticker that system confuses me cause like Let It Enfold You doesn't have a sticker but From the Depths of Dreams does and LIEF is worse then FTDOD.

cbmartinez 09-04-2005 08:21 PM

Really? Some sources say North by SoCo had one but there wasn't one on the CD. They only curse once though.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-04-2005 08:24 PM

It's weird I have a program called Real Rhapsody and like it will say Explict by a CD and I will click on it and it will show me the CD cover and it wont have a sticker on it.

Gnarmageddon 09-04-2005 08:24 PM

I wonder if rap CDs even get listened to, to decide if they get a PA.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-04-2005 08:26 PM

Man I hate rap with a passion.

Mute Print 09-04-2005 08:26 PM

Some rap CDs deserve multiple PA stickers. I mean if you compare the explicit content of an Eminem album to Jack's Mannequin, it's not even close, but they both get a PA.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-04-2005 08:27 PM

Ya the system is wacked.

Gnarmageddon 09-04-2005 08:27 PM
Man I hate rap with a passion.
Some of it is crap, but a lot of it is really good.

Fish 09-04-2005 08:28 PM

guess whos back
Some of it is crap, but a lot of it is really good.
I'm not saying its not well written but half of the stuff is about guys having sex with 50 girls or just about hookers or pimps or about how good they are at stealing and it just pisses me off.

Mute Print 09-04-2005 08:29 PM
Man I hate rap with a passion.
I really do too. I tried to get into rap at one point, and I just couldn't.

I don't see the talent in it to be honest. I mean, once in a while there are some well-written lyrics, but that's it. It's not like most of these guys are playing instruments and rapping at the same time.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-04-2005 08:31 PM

Ya its not like there is a lot of talent like people free-style rapping that would be tough but I don't see the talent in releasing a rap record granted I don't think I could do it but I have much more respect for the Rock scene then rappers and Rap music.
