I'm taking SATs tomorrow too, hoping to get at least a 1900 and would love a 2000.

anything above 1800 is solid. I think the national average is like 1700 or something.

I just went through the ones I got wrong on my PSAT and got like 3/4 of them right so I should be alright.

Only thing I have no clue about is the essay.

fill the entire space they give you. try and come up with like 2 or 3 examples that you can backup for whatever your thesis statement is. i'm a terrible writter and did pretty well on the essay, so if you're a decent writer i'm sure you'll be fine.

I've scored nothing but 11 or 12 on my essays. They are fairly easy if you are a good writer. But I can imagine them making them harder later on. They keep bitchin that kids aren't good writers so they really want to see that in kids scores. But thats nothing to sweat.

Btw what kills people on the ACT is the science. I thought that part was fairly well balanced if you studied science.

Is there any way to convert your old SAT scores to the new scale? I got 1020 when I took the SATs in 7th and 8th grade.

Going to a pizza buffet and downing 10 slices, breadsticks, and pudding was probably not the best idea. The pain will probably kick in mid-test.

It won't be accurate, but just double your verbal score.

well that sucked. Pretty sure I didn't get anything near what I wanted.

hahah. its seriously so draining, the second time I took it I just focused on the section I wanted to improve and blew off the other ones because they take the highest of the scores. Odds are you did better than you thought, its scored on the averages of the whole country so all the really dumb kids who take it help to boost your score.

For some reason, i'm terrible in the reading comprehension/vocab sections. Pretty sure I did really good on the grammar section and alright in math.

Also, how is the essay figured into the score? Mine sucked and I didn't finish really.

I don't know how they factor it in, but there is more to the writing section than just the essay. It also includes the grammar/sentence correction parts.

I didn't apply to schools accepting the new scoring range.

If I end up going to a state school it doesnt even matter since I know I got high enough for them. Some schools i'm looking into I want like a 1900 to be safe.
