What's some good music to listen to when you're sick? :(
Black Sabbath!! Actually probably not but that's what I'm listening to right now. I'd go with some Neil Young if I were you Woodstock, it sets the mood for fall. NP-Black Sabbath-War Pigs/Luke's Wall |
Yes, nothing cools me down quite like Black Sabbath's s/t.
|
Haha, that's what I thought. That album is amazing though, great instrumental work in that whole album. Great jam feel too. Maybe thats because the album is 5 tracks but 3 of them have 2 or more songs in them.

i just read through all of that in one sitting

You mean like the whole thread? You can't possibly be serious. |
Anyone like The Pogues? Not exactly CR, but still a good band.

 Do you know how long it'd take to do such a task? :amaze: |
Tazu has probably stayed home from school all week to read through the entire thread.
Anyone like The Pogues? Not exactly CR, but still a good band.
I like what I've heard from them. |

NP: Bluesbreakers - Ramblin' On My Mind
Whoa, me too :) I need some new stuff to listen to. "The Harder They Come" is awesome. I saw a double-disc for that a couple days ago. |
I've listeded to After the Goldrush three nights in a row. It's sooo good.
I have actualy stopped listening to albums in repeated settings completely. I try to rotate albums I haven't listined to in a long periods of time and avoid listining to an album for 2 weeks after given a spin on the ol' CD player. For instance I just went through my 200+ collection of CD's last night and decided to give Jimmy Cliff's The Harder They Come another listin (since the last time I heard it was middle to late Summer). Needless to say I didn't regret giving it it's long awaited listin and after that I put it in it's CD case. When you do this it allows you to expand on your musical diversity, give albums you weren't wild about another chance and prevents you from getting burnt out on some of your most beloved albums. The time has come.....my burnt copy of Piper at the Gates of Dawn has been spun into it's unfortunate death. I will now go burry it. :upset: /fetches ye ol' shovel |

I try to follow that same approach when listening to my music, Schyma. It's good to rotate your older albums to remind yourself why you like the music you like.

Holy crap is it awesome :amaze:
Yea, it's even worse than having a hole burnt through Live at Fillmore East by the Allman Brothers. I still haven't had the time to download it back again. :( Has anyone noticed that ATM (or Slug) isn't posting anymore? |
not in this thread he isnt. ive seen him elsewhere.
|
He was on yesterday, he justs posts in Community Threads a lot.
Like the No Ham Allowed in R&M, and the Comm. thread in A&I. |
Yeah, I hadn't listened to ATG for about a week and a half. Tonight, Harvest!
|
Tonight: On The Beach
I love "Walk On" as an opener. |
I've been seriously binging on Fresh Cream lately. I really like the song Dreaming, if I could get a decent transcription of the changes and vocal part, like in a fake book, I could see myself doing a cover of it. I would totally add a bigger solo, too.
|
I was about to get either Wheels of Fire or Goodbye today. Heh, the cover of Goodbye makes me laugh everytime I see it.
np : Jeff Buckley - Grace |
I was about to get either Wheels of Fire or Goodbye today. Heh, the cover of Goodbye makes me laugh everytime I see it.
np : Jeff Buckley - Grace
Yeah, it is a little odd. Oh well, lets try to be mature about it :D |
I was about to get either Wheels of Fire or Goodbye today. Heh, the cover of Goodbye makes me laugh everytime I see it.
np : Jeff Buckley - Grace
Goodbye is so underrated. Badge is one of my top 3 Cream songs and the live version of I'm So Glad is freaking awesome. Wheels of Fire is much, much, much better, but Goodbye is really overlooked. I've been listening to Cream all day today. np- Badge (yeah I listen to this song a lot) |
I'm getting back into "Double Nickels On The Dime". So many songs :P
The song "Cohesion" gives off a Calexico feel :P I like Minutemen' bassist. |
Was the concert/jam Jeff Beck and McLaughlin did recorded? I would love to hear it if so.
|
I'm getting back into "Double Nickels On The Dime". So many songs :P

What genre are Minutemen considered? They don't really have a definite sound to me.
|
they were early hardcore punk actually. theyre very diverse and hard to classify though.
|
They are usually considered Punk, but of course can fit into others genres.
And the Minutemen's bassist is Mike Watt; great bassist. |

np- Badge (yeah I listen to this song a lot)
Badge is great. I love the way it starts out slow, then gets faster with the guitar and piano near the end. Out of curiousity, does anyone here listen to any ska? I've recently discovered ska and I'm addicted. |
Ska is one of the very few music genres that I cannot listen to, period.
|
There's a ska band that a former schoolmate's friend's brother (heh) made before they moved and he went to college or whatnot. They are pretty good
I have actually never heard them recorded, but they were awesome live, I reckon they are called Axis of Evil. They are probably on myspace or something EDIT: Kenny G is the only think I can't listen to, period |
I heard a Kenny G Christmas song that I liked. Granted I didn't know it was Kenny G until after it was done.
I plan on getting Fresh Cream next, but I didn't really have any intent on getting Goodbye. Is it good? |
haha. anyone want to chat? im real bored.
Ska is one of the very few music genres that I cannot listen to, period.
Well then you can go rock out to your Wu-Tang Clan. |
Better RZA than the fucking Aquabats.
|
you know its true?
rza ftw. kill bill 1 soundtrack ftw. |

On Goodbye, it starts off with an amazing performance of I'm So Glad that's like 9 minutes long and just awesome. Then there are live recordings of Politician and Sitting On Top of the World which are great as well, and then Badge which is awesome, and two filler songs. Fresh Cream is a more consistent and better overall album. Sleepy Time Time is like the most underrated song ever. Didn't Lunch upload Fresh Cream like last week though? There's going to be a free concert on my town green on Saturday. A black performer named Calvin Earl who performs old songs written by slaves back in the 1800's. Should be pretty interesting. Free concerts are cool. |
Speaking of I'm So Glad, the word "Glad" is sung 120 times in that song.
