^What time is it on?
8 for me.

Well, thats what it says on My Yahoo.

VH1

Rattlehead 03-21-2006 10:52 AM
I think everyone agrees that they should kick Lars out.
Kirk's getting sloppier but who can replace him?
It's good to hear them back on track though (the live Creeping Death clip)
I think you thought wrong. that is bullsh*t. Lars is the founder, major writer, and heart of the band. no way is he to be kicked out, and not even james has the power to do that, and whoever thinks kirk should go is a total idiot. he ROCKS and is in no way getting sloppy. i don't understand why you would think he is.

Jev 03-21-2006 10:55 AM

Kirk is sloppy live. He messes up a lot live.

Dreaming Neon Black 03-21-2006 10:56 AM

That, he does. Its fine though, hes still good. :)

Britton 03-21-2006 12:08 PM

So have you all heard about Jason?

Jev 03-21-2006 12:09 PM

No, what's happened?

Britton 03-21-2006 12:35 PM

This site looks like it really sucks...but you'll gather some info from it

http://hollywood.outsidethebeltway.com/2006/03/tommy-lee-jason-newsted-and-gilby-clarke-go-supernova/

LoL And I thought Lars had a ego

http://www.jasonizer.com/home.html

well then again I guess it's not that big of a deal...it's just a fan site

Jev 03-21-2006 12:40 PM

Oh that, that kinda doesn't interest me.

I don't think Jasonizer's egotistic (that a word?), it's built by fans.

Rattlehead 03-21-2006 12:41 PM
That, he does. Its fine though, hes still good. :)
my point exactly, to say that he should leave the band is the words of a fool.

ever eeking always rupert 03-21-2006 01:26 PM

You mind sending me that Creeping Death?

http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/hall_of_fame_2006/series_showtimes.jhtml

For me, central time zone, it'll be at 8 p.m. and again at 10 p.m. I got class today, but I'll be home by 10 no doubt. I just hope VH1 are gonna show the whole thing, and not chopped in 10 pieces and take metallica's performance out. :(

GenuineImitation 03-21-2006 07:28 PM

^

Thanks for posting that. I almost forgot. I better go take a shower because I only have 30 minutes.

Bloody Knives 03-21-2006 08:21 PM

Oh man, thanks for reminding me before I would miss it.

Bazarov 03-21-2006 08:39 PM

Hmm that'd be 6PM here, and as of right now, The Blues Brothers is on. So I'm guess it's showing 8 and 10 PM for all timezones.

Bloody Knives 03-21-2006 09:14 PM

OMG James's vocals on those covers were hot!

PepsiMetal 03-21-2006 10:58 PM

Geezer dedicated that award to Cliff Burton and Dimebag. Helluva guy. :thumb:

I didn't watch their performance yet, but I will now. Skynyrd is coming on later too. Damn nice.

What about that James' 9 year old kid speech. lol

Britton 03-21-2006 11:07 PM

Is there someplace I can find this?

Bazarov 03-21-2006 11:12 PM

Is this on the regular VH1 or on some special digital/satelite television vh1. Becuase I swear it wasn't on. I'll try again at 10.

PepsiMetal 03-21-2006 11:12 PM

It's on VH1, I'm not sure if it's uploaded anywhere yet. Just watched their performance, they played iron man and some other song, not sure. Hetfield seeemed to have a hard time hitting notes in that other song, they did good with solos though. Haha, James even said "I am Iron Man" in robotic voice in the beginning. :)
Is this on the regular VH1 or on some special digital/satelite television vh1. Becuase I swear it wasn't on. I'll try again at 10.
Yup regular Vh1. It's at 10 in central time zone. Check VH1 site for west coast times.

Lol, James air guitaring when skynyrd played the solo to the freebird. :p

Bazarov 03-22-2006 12:08 AM

Aha! Here it is, I've missed about an hour I guess. They're playing Iron Man.. the ending. James' clean vocals makes me cry. I wish he'd go back to old days and get dirty and scratchy when he sings.

Chu 03-22-2006 12:44 AM

Sweet, here we go, for this Metallica-medley, anyone know any songs that might actually fit together? :p

Off-topic, but:
I usually alt. pick, and I was just playing Master of Puppets downpick (I haven't done this in so long!), when I pick the open E, I kinda double the pick (Err.. double the note?), it sounds kinda cool (imo)...

Anyway, I'll see if I can get a microphone (It would appear my current mic is broken :/), on Friday, and have some recordings up on the weekend...

My favourite Metallica songs at the moment, and the songs I would include in a medley are like Battery, Master, Orion, Ktulu, and Bells.. (Damn now I think about it, there's heaps more :/).. But I think everyone here (Or at least everyone who might help) should get a say in what songs we do... If you're interested in doing a collabration effort, well post your instrument and any songs you would like, and then everyone can make a choice of what to do (And what not to do). Yeah...

Jev 03-22-2006 01:55 AM

I think plenty of Metallica songs will fit together. As long as they're in the same or relative minor/major, they should go together. I'll try and get a mic ASAP and see if I can help.

Jev 03-22-2006 10:09 AM

sorry to double post but has anyone seen who's on Kerrang's remake of MOP?
FIGHTSTAR doing Leper Messiah. What. The. FUCK.

What? That's just stupid! An emo band doing a metal cover!? Who else is doing it?

Jev 03-22-2006 10:26 AM

Machine Head - Battery
Trivium - MOP
Mendeed(who?) - TTTSNB
Bullet for my Valentine - Sanitarium
Chimaira - Disposable Heroes
Mastodon - Orion
Funeral For A Friend - Damage Inc.
Pretty crap in my opinion.

Mendeed are a scottish metal band. Very good. That's ok apart from i don't think Bullet are gonna do Sanitarium very well.

Jev 03-22-2006 10:38 AM

I don't think any of them can pull it off better than the actual MOP.
