http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXCN1DhHTZA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4HhUSQA_7s some of my favourites. and of course, the song that started me on this whole druggie business http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qriH-8yeqcE I'll take your brain to another dimension Pay close attention! Yeah i've made this post before |
i dont dig it lol
|
yeah it was critically panned from the moment it came out
I don't think there is anything i've ever heard quite like it before though |
yeah its definitely an interesting genre

so good
aakon you'd like this dark ambience oohOHhh --- meaty did you check out hong chulki? creepy shit if you're out and about at night. feedback came in and stabbed my eyes i swear |
I downloaded it. that youtube clip was fucking awful, I think I could stomach listening to the whole thing though
Thanks For The Bracelet, Princess Sewage Water is my new favourite Pink & Yellow song |
i only listened to "more pink"
how's that rank up in their(his?) catalog? the youtube clip was dumb. it's one of those albums that takes a minute or so to really pick up steam. i suggest listening to it outside at night-ish when it's very eery so that the feedback and the machine-ish glitches can really take hold, because it's definitely a hard listen. but by no means is it representative of the genre as a whole so if you don't like it i encourage you to start elsewhere (i don't really know your taste by heart so i might need help getting you recs and shit if you want :C) downloaded Exercise Field of Dreams today. hope it's good. ambient/drone apparently. |

I.corax is one of the best dark ambient bands ever. Sits right behind raison d'etre and deathprod. better that zoat(dot)aon and such.
|

I.corax has two albums that sit in my top 50 ever. Is that better?

Because Deathprod>>>Z.F.

Halo Manash >>>>

I already have, I own both albums.
I still prefer Halo Manash. |
I don't get how Halo Manash>Raison or Deathprod or Maeror Tri or even Troum. :\
|
You are 14, don't worry. You'll get it one day.
Because Deathprod>>>Z.F.
it is possible I might enjoy them more I have my doubts Zoviet France have one of the most lengthy and consistent discographies on any dark ambient group I have looked into thus far 'tis gonna be hard to topple
Halo Manash >>>>
introducing me to SYoMA was one of the best things you ever did still remember that morning sitting outside watching the sun come up listening to it for the first time fried my brain a bit |
also half the reason i'm not taking your recs all that seriously bitchy is because every time I see this floating around the review site I facepalm a little
please remove it, it is genuinely horrible. If you do I will force myself to listen to 10 albums of your choice and give you feedback on them |

still remember that morning sitting outside watching the sun come up listening to it for the first time fried my brain a bit
Yeah, I'm glad I did. I really enjoy them more than most things in the genre. |
there is a lot of tedious stuff in it, I couldn't listen all the time
Lustmord's Heresy really did it for me a while back
also half the reason i'm not taking your recs all that seriously bitchy is because every time I see this floating around the review site I facepalm a little please remove it, it is genuinely horrible. Lustmord is so fucking good, I like how he collabs with the coolest people.
|
he produced Monte Cazazza's album he put out last year
shit was weird |
yeah Lustmord is great stuff.
I especially like The dark places of the Earth |
dark ambient sucks
|
no it doesn't
|
Hey Meatplow, changed it.
If you've listened to any of these then tell me so I can adjust your ten. Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye JLIAT - The Nature of Nature Sachiko M, Toshimaru Nakamura & Otomo Yoshihide - Good Morning Good Night (probably the most inaccessible out of all these.) Wraiths - Plaguebearer Nikos Veliotis, Taku Sugimoto, Kazushige Kinoshita & Taku Unami - Quartet Pure - Fetor Joanna Newsom - Ys Rina Ketty - Les étoiles de la chanson Gnaw Their Tongues - L'arrivée de la terne mort triomphante Deathprod - Morals and Dogma Also I'll be sending you some of my new material soon (in a mediafire link - all those eps i suggested you listen to by me are in the your projects thread). it's all collabos with other artists. should be different (i.e. chamber-inspired noise and eai meets p.e. and even eai-styled ambience) so look out. |
i've only heard Choirs of the Eye out of that list
can't say i'm a huge fan of Kayo Dot, it was alright though
chamber-inspired noise and eai meets p.e. and even eai-styled ambience
I just love these self descriptions you come up with |
well those are for each of the albums
for the first i teamed with John Wight of Incubi and I improvised some noise/drones with a bunch of programs and hooked up my keyboard (not synthy at all on the recording) and effected the fuck out of it. He's going over it with improv violin techniques. I did some EAI and combined it into some P.E. samples I made a while ago and am having an internet bud place feedback around it. The last one is with myself, Mathos and Incubi as Torpor (I didn't come up with the name trust me) and it's EAI on all sides of the fence but it's naturally ambient and with a shit load of minimalist hip shit choirs is brilliant i adore every second of it so then try either Robert Ashley - Wolfman (electroacoustic noise with tape music influences, dazzlingly ahead of its time but not just a historic music document. or Martin Siewert & Martin Brandlmayr - Too Beautiful to Burn eai booty or I.corax-The Cadaver Pulse I: Sealed in a Radiant Larval Maelstrom dark ambient bootay |
alright i'll get all these, thanks
listening to Nadja for the first time |
