I c.

Australian Institute of Music.

Aaron 01-28-2009 05:03 AM

Ah, nice.

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 01-28-2009 05:21 AM

that'd look good on a resume trying to join a band

gaslight 01-28-2009 05:33 AM

It would if you ever showed a resume to join a band hehe.

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 01-28-2009 05:39 AM

haha that'll probably never happen too

gaslight 01-28-2009 05:46 AM

It's a good thing though, you can get a music degree without being any good at playing really.

The main thing music degrees look good for is teaching (of course). Good money in that, the minimum recommended amount (according to the Music Teacher's Association Australia or something like that that our teacher quoted) is $50/hour.

Aaron 01-28-2009 05:48 AM

That's a lot of money if you do 40 hours a week.

gaslight 01-28-2009 05:54 AM

Certainly is. A whole lot of planning involved though, 'cause you have to individually account for each student. Add to that the mental stress of perhaps teaching 40 students under 10 each week and you'll wish there was a psychological health plan but yeah, plenty of money.

Aaron 01-28-2009 06:02 AM

Mmm. You get used to managing many people though. Just takes time and patience.

gaslight 01-28-2009 06:06 AM

Yeah true. There'd always be a lot of work involved in planning so many personalised lessons but it's definitely something I could do. I really enjoy teaching, makes you feel good.

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 01-28-2009 07:07 AM

woo just noticed i had a new ceiling fan.

and i has a remote.

i'd say the fan has been in since probaly 10 this morning

i don't know how i missed it

gaslight 01-28-2009 07:10 AM

Haha excellent.

I wish I had a ceiling fan.

I've got like, a small desktop fan and a window that opens.

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 01-28-2009 07:30 AM

ceiling doesn't really do anything, just circulates the hot air.

it's good if i've been sweating, then the air on sweat equals coolness
hey!

Hey.

It was insane, there are no words to describe the ridiculousness of the Italian fans.

gaslight 01-28-2009 08:21 AM

Desktop fan certainly tries its little heart out.

Dropkick Murphys were so much fun last night. Kiss me I'm shitfaced, Shipping up to Boston, and Johnny Hardly Knew Ya are always the best highlights of the night.

Aaron 01-28-2009 06:07 PM

Kiss me, I'm shitfaced.

Ya I think so. We have all just been away over the summer and are starting to return so we haven't really discussed proper goals. I think we are planning to release an EP sometime this year (we hope) and I dunno, I guess do lots of gigging.

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 01-28-2009 07:06 PM

the Alien (poland) poster looks like something Tool would have in their film clips

big80smullet 01-28-2009 07:10 PM

i read an article on those polish posters a while back and apparently its a whole distinct art movement or something. there are some way better ones than cracked found as well

Yeah sometimes I think Cracked's research consists of wikipedia and not much else. Do you have a link to the better ones?

gaslight 01-28-2009 08:37 PM

gaslight 01-28-2009 09:10 PM

I do like 2 sets of 5 goes of 45kg very occasionally but I can't do any mad endurance lifting like 20 of stuff.

Alf™ 01-28-2009 09:14 PM
