Not yet. Soon though.

I love me some Sunn 0))).

Mister_Cheech 11-08-2007 04:08 AM

Everybody knows Dopesmoker by Sleep is the most badass stoner track ever.

I assume by that you mean Penance, Internal Void, Dream Death, Revelation etc?

ATM 11-08-2007 07:01 AM

Penance and Dream Death are from Pennsylvania.

I need to check out all the other two bands :-x

Revelations Yet So Far is a really good album. Their label had it hosted for free as well, which was great. Might have to give it a listen later.

ATM 11-08-2007 07:26 AM

Is it still hosted for free?

I'd like to hear.

And Iron Man, Wretched, Asylum, Unorthodox, Against Nature, Death Row, Bedemon, Pentagram, The Obsessed etc etc

Your hometown has pedigree unmatched by anyone.

pate 11-08-2007 09:12 AM

Against Nature and Revelation are great.

Give that a look.

Nostalgia 11-08-2007 11:21 PM

Does anyone have a link to My Dying Bride's As the Flower Withers? I've found three links, and they all have passwords which weren't mentioned.

I'd really appreciate it.

Unorthodox opened for Weedeater. It was an awesome show.

NemesisDivina 11-09-2007 11:22 PM

does anyone know if Priestess is worth checking out?

ATM 11-10-2007 10:07 AM

I saw them open for Mastodon. I only caught the tail end of their set, but what I heard wasn't too exciting.

dUSK 11-10-2007 04:23 PM

Guys - Are Worship any good?

Reason I ask is because my net is capped at the moment, so I can't check them myself, and I'm about to put an order in through a distro I like. The guy has just gotten Dooom and Last CD Before Doomsday in, and is suggesting I might like it. I'd take a punt on them but their stuff is a bit more expensive than the rest.

NP: L'Ataraxie

Nostalgia 11-10-2007 04:33 PM

Yeah I like them ok. I've yet to obtain their split with Loss, but I really want it.

:)

dUSK 11-10-2007 04:39 PM

Invalid friend ID mate, but I can't really listen anyway. Internet is atrocious at the moment. 3 people splitting what has been capped to dial up speed.

I'll just grab the 2 releases I think. If I'm gonna take doom recs from anyone, it's this guy. (Damon Good!)

Also, Stone Wings/Mournful Congregation split was released the other day. Can't wait to get my hands on that.

Kage 11-10-2007 04:46 PM

Bust again.

Stormrider 11-10-2007 05:01 PM

I've heard The Last CD Before Doomsday, and I didn't like it.

dUSK 11-10-2007 05:03 PM

Any particular reason?

Stormrider 11-10-2007 05:06 PM

The production was a bother. I have no problem with a dirtier sounding production, but in this case it made the music sound...hollow. Either way, I didn't find it that interesting. I'll give it another try some other time.

I guess I looked for that complete, full sound that Skepticism create on Stormcrowfleet, which might not be totaly fair.

dUSK 11-10-2007 05:08 PM

Ahhh that full bodied sound is what gets my juices flowing. Perhaps just getting Dooom will suffice for now.

Stormrider 11-10-2007 05:10 PM

Yeah. I really love Stormcrowfleet. Give the Worship release a listen, though. Never know, you might like it.

I got the Loss album earlier today. I will be giving that a listen later.

Nostalgia 11-10-2007 05:14 PM

Great.

Dooom has pretty good production. I think you'd like it Gmac.

ATM 11-10-2007 06:28 PM

Revelation is great stuff.

TojesDolan 11-10-2007 06:43 PM

I want DOOM.

pate 11-10-2007 06:45 PM

I endorse Worship and Revelation.

ATM 11-10-2007 07:25 PM

Any fans of Khann?

Unholy's The Second Ring of Power is so good. has a nice reverbed spacey vibe to it with the occasional keyboard part and female vocals (which can be sort of weird sometimes). still heavy though, with some nice growls

Last CD Before Doomsday is great adn raw funeral doom.
I actually hvn't checked out the new one, but I'm curious what Doom Monger came up with.

RIP Max.

Wait...they're playing again, without Max? Bah

Procession of Black Doom is some of the most filthiest and dark doom metal I have heard, plus it has some hints of what would become Funeral Doom.

Eliminator 11-12-2007 11:58 AM

yeah. some of the female vocals can be a little out of place though.

listening to Into Darkness by Winter right now. has a nice cold, distant sort of doomy feel to it. only problem i have with it is the production, as the guitars are just a little low in the mix.

the weird guitar noodlings and keyboards give it a sort of warped atmosphere. i like it a lot.

That sounds awesome, can I get a link?

dUSK 11-12-2007 03:34 PM

Yeah, I'm going to have to check this Unholy band out.

Same with Winter, actually. I get the feeling from Elims description they may sound a little like Elysian Blaze. Well, I can hope anyway.
