Depends what you're critting; if its just rubbish stuff then you won't learn much, but the better the work you look over the better you can get. You can pick up ideas and see things you hadn't thought of. And mistakes you'd rather not make.

I critique because it helps me understand other's writing styles, and hopefully learn from them. I feel I learned a lot from 'Can U Smell It?' By Pegasis.
