They're not the best, but for a practice kit they're perfect.
|
Cool,I might get them then....Right now I use the kit for jamming with a friend and my step bro..They are learning so I just need somthing that will work.
|
Hey there...
I found a GREAT deal on a paiste 20" dry ride, and I'm wondering if there are any opinions on it here. I've heard some sound clips and I've read some reviews, and I'm worried it's a little too pingy for my taste. Anyone have first-hand experience with it? I like stick definition, but not like you're hitting an anvil. A nice balance with a lean towards ping would be ideal. Anyway, should I go for it? I can pick it up for 130, it's 340 on musiciansfriend. |
What are your opinions on sweet rides?
|
What are your opinions on sweet rides?
Ive heard they make great crashes but way too washy as rides. I played one in a studio once, thought it was okay but I much preferred the 20" K Ride. |
sweet rides are pretty nice. the bell isnt big or anything but it puts out an alright sound.

I thought about getting it one ..mainly for the use of a crash, because ive heard that before also. Also, are thier any other rides in that price range that any one would suggest. That arent so washy as the sweet "crash" |
The Avedis 20" medium is a great all-rounder. Ages really well too.
|
Ah..yes my drumming freind has that ride. When he first got it he cleaned it wiht the wrong kind of cleaner, so now its just a mold green color.
|
20" K Rides rule.
I have one. :) |
whats a good jazz ride? one that sounds real nice paired with some brushes.
and a set of high-hats that sound real smooth with crescendos. |
K Hybrids are great for that stuff!
|
I've been hearing nothing but good things about these k hybrids, i gotta check some sound samples out.
|
iI just got some a cus. hats for Christmas and when i started to play them I didn't really like there sound... so I thinking I might trade them for something in the shop but I don’t really no what exact sound I’m looking for with hi-hats. I play metal but I want versatile hats that I can you for funk and other styles. Any suggestions?
|
So since i have been without a job for ages and im in need of new cymbals, i had to buy a crappy ZXT pro pack. Im wondering how long can these last if i play metal, and my technique is decent?

14 K hats, or 15 |
what would be comparable paiste cymbals to sabian paragons?
|
Paiste and sabian are not comparable. Especially seeing as the paragon line is a custom signature line for Neil Peart.
|
Hey, I need a new ride, but I'm not sure which one. I want it to be powerful and "clangy", and also with a good ping sound. I play metal. Zildjian would be preferred.
|
what would be comparable paiste cymbals to sabian paragons?
paragons are beast, but thats just me =) and, there are a lot of paistes.. more specific? |
phil, i ment what sounded similar, for instance i own a zildjian k custom ride and i also own a sabian hh raw bell dry ride, they sound exactly the same.
i was t just asking anyone who was famaliar with the paragons and paiste and if there was anything similar |
ledzeppelin, i wish i could be more specific but i dont know, that what im asking for, but im thinking about signatures (especially full crash), although they dont seem as controlable, less mellow, too much wash, what do you think?
also, im looking especially for crashes, sorry i forgot to mention |
im looking to buy a wuhan china cause there cheap.
im looking for a good trashy semi dark sound which size should i buy or do yall recomend for a rock- classic rock set up |
also thought i might post this here sice its kind of like a cymbal, what kind of cowbell do yall recomend for a throatly rock bell? help appreciated

phil, surely there must be at least one similar sound, even if the lines arent comparible
try the paragon crash and paiste signature full crash, they are sort of similar, but i wish someone could help me find a better match |
Paiste cymbals are cleaner sounding than anything sabian or zildjian produce (minus possibly the A Customs)
Paiste are unique, if you want a paragon, buy a bastard paragon. |
guess no one cares bout me
|
9.5" Zil Bel
Wuhan Cymbals are ok, as long as you have good technique it should be fine |
thanks bro how is it on the jolly green isle?
which size do you recomend on china? |
O, I'd go 18", it's a bit chilly over here, definately not pleasant to have my new Zil Bel sit in the 40 degree weather and then have to handle it with my bare hands.
|
lol thanks for the info what do you recomend in a rock cow bell?( ya i know its the cymbal thread but, its used as a ride so..... cymbal?)
|
Hmm, I hear the new Meinl Cowbells are good, I am in the market myself for one so I'm looking around too. They sound pretty good.
