I've been listening to Sarah Mclachlan - I Will Remember You (live) on repeat for a good forty minutes or so now, whilst reading reviews on RYM. It's a good way to not do an essay.
Other than that, I've lately been digging The Relatives - Say it With Vodka EP, Elvis Costello - This Year's Model (still), Boris - Feedbacker, and listening The Clash - London's Calling. |
Anything Fall Out Boy right now. I'm a sucker for the catchy melodies.
|
I saw Fall Out Boy on Conan and I thought they were pretty rad. Excuse me, bad. The guitarist and bassist did that retarded twirling-in-circles thing, and the music was just pretty lame Milhouse. Ha ha, you see what I did there? Simpsons!
|
Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
John Wayne Gacy, Jr. is a brilliant melancholy song. I particularly have loved that track. |
Oh man are they awful. They're from the suburbs around my area, and they've played the local teen hangouts many a time (the video for "Dead On Arrival" was shot at the Knights of Columbus near where I live and I have friends that claim to be in it). Terrible band, and I can't believe they hit it big.
I just can't believe it took this long for a band with a Simpsons reference in its name to make it big. I mean, that's apparently all you need, and you could make thousands of different combinations too. |
The Feelies, ah good times.
|
Beastie Boys- Hello Nasty
and right now I'm listening to Do Make Say Think |
and right now I'm listening to Do Make Say Think
 I've been listening to BSS and The Arcade Fire along with some live Radiohead recently. |
I've decided that Every Time I Die is the only good band to have such a terrible and cliched name. Don't get them confused with similar-named bands because those ones probably suck!

Their new stuff is a bit questionable though, from what I've heard.
Antony and the Johnsons - I am a Bird Now
I've gathered a lot of good things about it too. Just got Gorguts - Obscura awhile ago, I think I'll listen to it now. That and Ken Nordine's Wink. I'm quite amused by it. |
Beastie Boys- Hello Nasty
and right now I'm listening to Do Make Say Think
My Hello Nasty album was stolen. It's their best record, too. Why couldn't they have stolen one of their crappier albums. |
Their new stuff is a bit questionable though, from what I've heard.
well to be honest the only song i've heard that i really like is "i've been gone a long time" but it's pretty good. everyone else who tried to combine punk and metal is pretty crappy at it but that song works. |
They can't possibly be the first ones. I can't think of any others though.
There's a band who were briefly succesful, and moderately so now, here in Australia called Jebediah, named after Jebediah Simpson |
Miasma and the Carousel of Headless Horses. These guys are great.
|
My Hello Nasty album was stolen.
It's their best record, too. Why couldn't they have stolen one of their crappier albums.
I got Hello Nasty for $5. That was cool. |
Miasma and the Carousel of Headless Horses. These guys are great.
you are correct :) |
I got Hello Nasty for $5. That was cool.
 What a steal! I had to pay $25. |

I've always thought Check Your Head was the best. Anyways, been listening to Rocket from the Crypt and Drive Like Jehu alot. Hot Snakes too. Oh and The Evens. Some classical, Steven Reich and Philip Glass, to balance things out. |
I say Paul's Boutique.
|
Right now, I've got a burnt CD in my CD player, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd's "Ledbetter Heights" sitting next to me. As for something I've been solidily listening to, I'd say either
Muse - Origin of Symmetry Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill Though, Bach has lately graced my CD player, as well as Mozart. I also recently got my friend to hook me up with some Elgar and Tchaikovsky, as I'm thinking about getting into the Romantic epoch of classical music. |
What a steal! I had to pay $25.
 ouch! I'm listening to Isis, Cult of Luna and The Dismemberment Plan |
Whoa, everyone's favourite album is different. Yay for different tastes!
I'm listening to The Dismemberment Plan as well. |
Life.
|
Sam Prekop - Who's Your New Professor?
|
Life.
That's always good to hear. |
Wow, Nacho likes Converge.
|
I didn't know that. Converge are the bomb anyway.
|
Today I'm listening to
Änglagård - Epilog The Ponys - Laced with Romance and some random Minus the Bear and Mew songs |
There's a band who were briefly succesful, and moderately so now, here in Australia called Jebediah, named after Jebediah Simpson
Jebediah Springfield, you mean. :simpsons101: |
Calexico - Convict Pool
Not a song that I don't love on here. |
I vaguely remember a band named Evergreen Terrace but I couldn't tell you what kind of music they played. Don't think I ever listened to 'em.
I'm digging Brazil today. The whole country. And The Further Adventures of Lord Quas. Album of the year so far. |
The Swans
DNA Arto Lindsay |
ASVA
Miasma and the Carousel of Headless Horses |
Air have been the newest group I have been enjoying.
|
And The Further Adventures of Lord Quas. Album of the year so far.
That's the new Madlib project, right? What's it like? |
Slint
The Unicorns Behemoth Cult of Luna |
That's the new Madlib project, right? What's it like?
Yep. It's enjoyably spastic, the kind of album I like to listen to on headphones while I go for a walk. I'm thinking a review is in order. |
Jebediah Springfield, you mean.
:simpsons101:
oh man, i truely truely have slipped.... stupid internet |
The Dismemberment Plan
The Unicorns Radiohead Queens Of The Stone Age Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Is what I've been digging lately. |
