If you like melodic stuff, then try Dungeon also.
So, lately, I've been listening to a lot of stuff off of the Underworld and Matrix soundtracks (both of the Underworld ones, and the first two Matrix ones), and I'm really digging a lot of the more Industrial type stuff, and I was wondering if there was anything anybody else in here could recommend for me?
Examples of what I really like (for those who have heard them):
Aiden - The Last Sunrise (Dust Mix) (Just this version though, I don't mean the original song)
Marilyn Manson - This Is The New Sh*t
Rammstein - Du Haust
Rob Zombie - Reload
A Perfect Circle - Judith (Renholder Mix)
SKinny Puppy - Optimissed

And I generally like a lot of Marilyn Manson and some MSI stuff.
So please, throw some more of it in my direction!
Well I donīt like that stuff that much, or at all, but you could try some Nine Inch Nails or Mushroomhead

For NIN, get the Downward Spiral.

With Teeth isnt very good IMO

Bartender 01-29-2006 08:24 AM

The Fragile is good as well, though. And they have more releases.

Maybe you should try some Lamb Of God and Trivium. That might be what you're looking for.

For something heavier you could also try Obituary.

I cant think of any band that sounds like a mix of these 3. Would you be interested in bands that sound like each one of them?

gillygan 01-29-2006 02:57 PM

CoB is probably your best bet.

Stoic 01-29-2006 03:02 PM

I cant see what CoB and Opeth have in common.

If you like Power and Progressive, maybe Angra is the best choice.

Stoic 01-29-2006 03:17 PM
Not an awful lot, but I figured as far as a harsher version of power metal goes they're a pretty good bet. He didn't exactly give us much to work with.
indeed :-\

Ensameheten 01-29-2006 07:05 PM

Thanks.

Lovage - Songs To Make Love To Your Old Lady By
Frou Frou - Details
Imogen Heap

Less 'pure' trip-hop than, and not quite as good as, some of those already mentioned. But worth hearing.

Mike Patton on vocals?

Bartender 01-30-2006 03:28 AM

Not solely, but yeah.

Stoic 01-30-2006 05:29 AM

What exactly is trip hop (I dont recognize any of the bands listed)?

Bartender 01-30-2006 08:28 AM

It's music which basically grew out of a tiny little sample (as in DJs sampling records) culture in Bristol. The name comes about because a lot of the music (as opposed to the vocals) bears a passing resemblance to hip-hop, only cooler, downtempo and more soulful. Or 'trippy'. As a result it bears practically no resemblance to metal.. but you might like it. All kinds of people do. There don't seem to be pre-requisite likings, to liking trip hop.

Key albums if you do want to check it out are Massive Attack - Mezzanine (if nothing else, the song "Teardrop"), and DJ Shadow - Endtroducing.., which together effectively killed trip hop as it was being born, by being so perfect that no one really felt they could be topped.

Try Into Eternity and Symphony X if you haven't already.

Bartender 01-30-2006 10:30 AM

What do you think of it?

If you've had time to listen to it yet, that is, in between visting your magical CD store of wonderment and losing your keys and such :)

Txus 01-30-2006 04:33 PM

I got Mezzanine for free, and original :D

NicetoKnowyou 01-31-2006 03:00 PM

He sings.

Try "The Divine Wings Of Tragedy", that's what got me into them.
