I have a proposition to make to you talented stencilists. If you can make a shirt out of my avatar (http://www.asianmanrecords.com/basket/images/cds/big/bitchbitchbitch.jpg) I will pay you the cost of the shirt, shipping, and like $5 more for time or supplies or whatever, as long as the total cost isn't anything over $15

So if you're willing to do this since my talents in crafts are very limited, talk to me on aim (ihatecelebr1ties), MSN (ihatecelebrities@hotmail.com), Soulseek (ihateceIebrities) or on here (ihatecelebrities)

But if you only have MSN you'll need to tell me because it's uninstalled right now.

These stencils... are they for shirts or patches or what?

Yeah, basically. I started out making patches, but I found it to be a lot less work to just make shirts. Some people might even use them for graffiti, but I'm not a fan of things like that.

I probably sound like a dumbass again, but how would you go about making a shirt? Is there a tutorial?

Well, It's been explained a bit in this thread, but I'll just tell you now.

The way I do it is:

First, I find an image online that could be stenciled. Or even design my own on the computer (or just draw it if you're artistically inclined). I print it off and glue it onto posterboard, or material like that. Then, with an exacto knife, cut out the stencil. With practice, your stencils will get better.

When your stencil is done, you can tape your stencil (or use a gluestick lightly, which is what I do) to your shirt. Put something like a book or cardboard inside your shirt, behind where your stencil is. Use fabric paint, and either spray onto the shirt, or paint on with a regular paintbrush.

That's basically it. The more you cut the stencils, the better you'll get at it.

Some examples of mine:
do you think if i bleached my schoolbag it would work? because of the ruff material and all?
well probably yes if it's jeans materical it will come out fine, but otherwise test it out first on a non-visble part. Colors cometimes come out wierd. It often goes to brown or pinkish when you bleach a dyed fabric.

Those are awesome, i cut out my first stencil today (7 Seconds) i'll post pics of the finished shirt.

Skidmark Steve 10-17-2005 06:45 PM

yo with the stencil you have to cut out your design and color it in?

asdf 10-17-2005 06:47 PM
yo with the stencil you have to cut out your design and color it in?
Yeah, basically.

Although, if you wanted to make a shirt and were really good at freehand, I don't see why you couldn't just draw it on.

Skidmark Steve 10-17-2005 06:52 PM

i see i see. i just started making my own DIY shirts, but with the iron on paper which turned out pretty good

Brendan 10-17-2005 07:48 PM

I don't even remember what my user title is about. I think it's from some thread in the pit. Anyway, it's because I'm left handed.

The radiohead stencil I just took from http://www.butik.pl/im/mediumthumbnail/6/8/683f5.png and stretched it out in microsoft word. It's not really as big as it might seem, because the shirt is pretty small. I forgot where I got the radiohead letters, but they're pretty easy to find.

Brendan 10-17-2005 08:50 PM

Im sorry, i meant your name. what does asdf mean?

Nerdcore753 10-17-2005 10:19 PM

I was thinking about making a Nike shirt for the irony.

TheNowhereman42 10-17-2005 10:20 PM

I'm gonna post my jacket as soon as I sew my conflict, crash cadillacs, demented are go, and choking v patches on it and screen the gainsville crest on it.

AndreTheHyena 10-17-2005 10:47 PM
...and screen the gainsville crest on it.
You better be from Gainesville, or else that's totally gay.

Brain Toad 10-17-2005 10:48 PM
You better be from Gainesville, or else that's totally gay.
If he can't spell it, I doubt he's from it.

TheNowhereman42 10-17-2005 10:48 PM

its just the AM! logo thing that happens to say Gainesville, Florida on it.

Does it count if I listen to two Gainesville bands and my uncle lives there and I occasionally spend a couple weeks at a time there?

AndreTheHyena 10-17-2005 10:51 PM

No. Since it's a band thing, though, I'll let it pass.

Who do you listen to besides AM! ?

The answer better be J Page, and not Less Than Jake.

TheNowhereman42 10-17-2005 10:57 PM

uhhhhhhh...........its old Less Than Jake?

TheNowhereman42 10-17-2005 10:58 PM

but I'll check out J Page

AndreTheHyena 10-17-2005 10:58 PM

They're great.

And I was actually hoping the answer would be "Hot Water Music". LTJ suck.

TheNowhereman42 10-17-2005 10:59 PM

ew, Hot Water Music suck. Ska rules your face.

I'm listening to both Wagon Wheel versions, Erik Petersen's Police Bastard and Help Save the Youth of America over and over and over again.

AndreTheHyena 10-17-2005 11:02 PM

HWM eat ska for breakfast.

TheNowhereman42 10-17-2005 11:04 PM

and ska gives them indigestion, explodes out of their stomaches, and rocks!
