The guitarist in me band wants to know...
therefore if noone has heard any good Dungeon covers, you may well do soon :p

I've never been able to find any tabs. I've requested them at a few places unsuccessfully as well. :(

Yeah. Buying it Exclusively for Terranno del mar would be worth it.

Get the extended edition with the dvd its great, to the living end' and 'Surface Tension' are my favourite songs

We actually don't own it - that's the LMP release and it's not even supposed to be in this country because of the way the territories are organised, but due to the parallel importing laws, they still end up in shops here. (which is good for you guys, of course).

BTW, that tab is wrong - both guitars are playing octaves in a minor 3rd harmony. EG:

x=string mute (ie: lift your fingers off of the strings to deaden them and pick them to get a muted sound, rather than a palm mute)

~= slur (so 7~6 means play from 7th and slide down to 6th still sounding the note)

The 2nd guitar plays a diatonic minor 3rd harmony, ie: 3 scale degrees up.

And tuning is E flat (every string tuned a semitone lower)

I'm listening to some Dungeon samples now. Why didn't anybody tell me that they're amazing?!

I don't think it really matters. I have [i]A Rise To Power[/i] and the [i]Resurrection[/i] re-release. They are both awesome, and I couldn't pick a favourite. [i]One Step Beyond[/i] has a good reputation as well, as can be seen a few posts above.

I really like A Rise To Power...quite a good album. One problem though: what's with that one track (7 or 8, I believe), with the clip of the lady giving birth to the baby that kills everybody in the room? :amaze:

Dungeon are weird. I don't see what is so great about them, I only have the Rise To Power album though.

Anyway, after going through my albums and mp3s, trying to organize the next bands for my series, I've come to realize it's going to be a very power metal holiday. The next three bands are:

Primal Fear
Epica
Black Majesty

Haven't heard of the top and bottom one, but Epica is quite good. A bit generic, but Simone has a decent voice...

If you read my spotlight on Gamma Ray you should recognize Primal Fear.

Black Majesty are a (sadly) obscure Aussie band from Melbourne.

Dunno if I saw that one...probably did, but forgot it already. :p

Much stuff on my mind that day...Gamma Ray was with the dude from Helloween, right?

Not that that narrows it down too much, but yes. Gamma Ray was the second band of Kai Hansen.

Ralf Scheepers was Gamma Ray's original lead singer and has a very Halford-esque voice. Kai let him leave the band to audition for Judas Priest when Rob left, but Ripper got the job instead.

Rather than going back to Gamma Ray, Ralf decided to form his own band since he had been having communication and transportation troubles in his last months with Gamma Ray anyway. So he formed Primal Fear, and has been doing pretty good for himself ever since.

None taken! A lot of people say it also sounds like Priest's Painkiller too and something else that slips my mind right now... *shrugs* I guess than any Em -> C -> D progression is gonna sound like Maiden or Priest too, though! :p
