Dude, just listen to them. Boring riffs, double bass, breakdowns...pretty standard stuff. And the vocals are boring as ****.

i do listen to them! it sounds a hell of a lot better than most of the metalcore out there. they have better riffs, breakdowns, better vocals then all those other metalcore bands. have u heard any of their new stuff?

Thirding the opinion that As I Lay Dying are disgustingly generic.
Check out Destroy The Runner for a more original version of AILD.


And no offense, Death Before I Stray really aren't that great. Whoever was playing the lead guitar solo-ish riff in the intro seriously needs to learn scales and rhythm.

I would agree. They have some catchy riffs here and there, but the biggest turn off is the vocals which are very monotone and 1 dimentional.

The new album seems cool though tbh.

they said in their new album that they wanted to CHANGE it up, so i think they were going for a more thrash oriented sound, trying to stray away from the metalcore label that everyone has on them

In other news, since I've apparently missed the boat on this thread, what is everyone's favorite metalcore band? I'm looking for suggestions to get back into the genre.

I hate it when bands try to be artsy fartsy and put jazz breaks in their songs and **** like that. So stupid.
