Way late, but I like Django I have one of his CD's he's great but I'm never really in the mood to listen to him. He's a mood guy for me I have to be in the perfect mood, usually when I want guitar thats a mix between Ry Cooder and someone like Jeff Beck.
My list for Bands live! 1. Jane's Addiction 2. The Stones (3 different times, 65', '69, '75) 3. The Who 4. NWA 5. AFI 6. Interpol 7. Joy Division 8. Dead Kennedys 9. David Bowie/Iggy Pop 10.U2/Madonna All preferably at small clubs except Madonna, U2 and AFI I couldn't cut some guys out so I had to do some "/'s" |
U2 is great live :) I like the way Bono talks to the crowd
and soon I'm gonna see an other classic rock band Deep Purple :) |
List is late, but in no particular order...
Pink Floyd Explosions in the Sky Godspeed You! Black Emperor Yefim Bronfman (Even though I've already seen him! ) Jimi Hendrix Nick Drake Pierre Fournier/Yoyo Ma (I've seen Yoyo Ma live too... it was amazing) John Coltrane Morcheeba Joe Pass If I'm not allowed to do classical performers, I'll replace Yefim Bronfman with Muddy Waters or BB King, and Pierre Fournier/Yoyo Ma with Elvis Costello/Van Morrison. |
GY!BE would be awesome live.
|
I can't get into GY!BE, or any post-rock really.
I got Beck Bogert & Appice today, and I really like it. I think Tim Bogert is comparable to Jack Bruce, he really doesn't get enough recognition. And I almost got the live album with McLaughlin, De Lucia, and Di Meola too, but I didn't have enough money. EDIT: That Who DVD looks cool, I started listening to Quadrophenia yesterday and so far I like it better than any other of their stuff. |

oh how I miss that which is 38 Special..:( Dammit. |
Edit-I guess Schmya had a pretty big range too.
I was going to pick Elvis, Bela Fleck and maybe Funkadelic but decided that Hendrix, McLaughlin and QMS would be more important. :-/
9. buddy guy (late 60's)
Have you watched Festival Express? He was sloppy as hell. It looks like he's in his prime right now. I could possibly trip on LSD tomorrow morning....hope I get it. :D |
He was probably sloppy because he was probably wasted. Did you see how much booze was consumed by that train?
|
You're probablly right....Grateful Dead's set owned.
|
Oh man, I loved "Cumberland Blues" the most. That is a great overall movie.
I'm I the only one who cannot stand Janis Joplin? |
I'm I the only one who cannot stand Janis Joplin?
your not the only one, i cant really stand it a whole lot either. my dad likes her music but it never grew on me... |
Oh...you're not the only one. She looks like a man....Robert Plant and Janis Joplin would look like male cross dressers together.
|
I'm I the only one who cannot stand Janis Joplin?
I don't like her much. |
Does anyone have The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery?
np: T-Bone Walker - Call It Stormy Monday
How come no-one ever talks about this guy? He is an incredible guitarist and that's his best song aswell. I didn't know anyone in here listined to him. :amaze: |
Does anyone have The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery
Thanks man. :)
|
Thanks man. :)
Wait, what is your e-mail? If anyone else wants it I'll send it to you also. |
bjschyma@hotmail.com
|
I dont mind the music behind Janis but Janis's voice is borderline on awful in my opinion.
I've got like 4 version's of Call it Stormy Monday on my computer including 'Ol T-Bone's. |
bjschyma@hotmail.com
I'll send you a few other Montgomery albums too. |
Big Brother and the Holding Company is excellent. Janis's voice can be borderline unlistenable sometimes. Sometimes I just try to block the vocals out, but sometimes I feel that her voice adds a lot to the music. She does have great power. In terms of female vocalists, Grace Slick completely owns her though.
np- Badfinger- Rock of All Ages |
Grace Slick completely owns her though.
Dorothy Moskowitz of United States of America completely owns Grace Slick. ;) |
Geddy Lee owns them both as far as female vocalists go
just kidding, of course. |
I don't like Janis Joplin.
Does anybody have anything by the Traveling Wilburies, and are they good? |
I don't like Janis Joplin.
Does anybody have anything by the Traveling Wilburies, and are they good?
I have both their cds. The first one is amazing. Then Orbison died 2 weeks after it was released:( The second cd is inconsistent without him and not nearly as good. Still good, but not like the first one. I can upload them both, probably tomorrow if you want. np- Badfinger- Carry On Till Tomorrow |

You'll have 5 very soon. |
Cool. :D
Thank you very much although I hope you're not sending them in one huge file.....are you? I can only download up to 90 MB's. |
Cool. :D
I dont mind the music behind Janis but Janis's voice is borderline on awful in my opinion.
I love Joplin's voice. Just the power, the strength, and the ruff bluesy edge to it all. Grace Slick can't even touch her. |
Holy mother of god I saw Paul last night!
With the exception that we were much farther away than last time I saw him, and for the fact that it was the first time I saw Paul (Back in the US tour, 02) this was better. THe songlist was better, he finally has better hair (short hair? please), and **** man they did Helter Skelter, which is the ultimate rock 'n roll live song. I've been wanting him to do that song live for years. Oh another reason why the first concert was ebtter is because I didn't know the setlist at all. I saw the setlist several weeks ago, but even though I didn't remember much of it, I noted the biggest details (like opening with MMT, him doing Helter Skelter, the Foxey Lady ending thing). Surprise is fun, especially when its Paul. **** it was awesome. My voice was dead last night and this mornig. |
Has anybody heard the Remastered version of Blind Faith? It has a bunch of extra recorded jams on it. I'm wondering if it's worth getting.
|
Seafroggys, I envy you. Very, very, very much. That sounds like an amazing show.

ive heard that theyre not much special. i lost my actual cd somewhere. like, i have it on my computer, but the physical cd is lost. which disturbs me because i cant stand missing a cd that i have owned previously and so everntually, im going to buy it again, and then probably find the original. im unfortunate like that. |
The Blind Faith Deluxe CD is only like $20 at a record shop near me, so I might consider getting it.
