hell you're in my area. Children of Bodom played at the 9:30 Club on my friend's birthday and we're both huge fans. Then we didn't go.
How come you didn't go?

I love that place, the shows are so cheap.

jpj 07-05-2005 02:36 PM
I've said this before but I Fogerty with CCR is most of what I've heard and is better. Fogerty I hope will play some Crredence, but when I've seen him, he does Travelim Band, as opposed to some of their other, better (IMO) hits
I saw him on PBS and he played Down on the Corner, but that's the only CCR song I remember. I didn't watch the entire thing, though.

Also, the show is advertised as John Mellencamp with John Fogerty, which leads me to believe Fogerty will have a smaller set...

Fogerty >>>>>>> Mellencamp

godigoy 07-05-2005 02:38 PM

Has anyone seen any of the Bob Dylan with Willie nelson shows i've got him coming up i just wanted to know what other people think.

his mom is kind of psycho. She doesn't like any kind of metal really. And I didn't want to enter the mosh pit alone...I might have never returned...Anyways, I'll be getting my drivers license in 4 days. And I'm definetely going to see them when they tour for their new album.

I like both artists, but this man speaks the truth.

So I listened to the album Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen last night, all the way through. It's a great album, but pretty bleak....

Yea, most moms don't like metal. My mom heard me listening to some and she said "This sounds like the soundtrack to Satan"

I went to one and it was AWESOME. Definatly worth it for 50 bucks.

By all means, do anything you possibly can do to go

ha yeah, I was playing Halo with a guy who asked me what kind of music I liked and I said metal and he said his rommates liked Dimmu Borgir. And I said me too, and somewhere I mentioned Allehelgens Dod I Helveds Rike and he goes "It sounded like you just spoke satan to me". I guess you had to be there.

Glitterati 07-05-2005 02:47 PM

My parents hate metal. They like hard rock, though, stuff like Cheap Trick and Thin Lizzy and Alice Cooper.

Wicked World is an incredible song. I love playing that on my guitar.

The Buttloaves 07-05-2005 02:59 PM

my dad saw Alice Cooper. hahaha. And my mom has seen Aerosmith 5+ times, Charlie Daniels Band, Little Feat, and we saw Kiss and Aerosmith which was INSANE. Get this, when my mom was in high school she was talking to a friend on the phone about skipping school to get Zeppelin tickets because they were coming to....somewhere. And her mom overheard her and said she would get them. She was 10th in line when they sold out. 10th. This was back in the day when they sold tickets at Montgomery Wards and ours was in the housewares section. And people started rioting. With knives and breaking things.

ATM 07-05-2005 03:00 PM

My dad saw Zappa and Beefheart.

That's awesome. My mom, in '84, saw a show in Toronto with a bunch of her friends. Stevie Ray Vaughan opening for Dire Straits

She said it was a "girl's night out."

My doctor also saw The Who five times, twice with Moon the loon

The Buttloaves 07-05-2005 03:05 PM

Stevie Ray Vaughan....that would have been a sight to see....I love metal but I like Stevie, he is the MAN. My mom also saw Eric Clapton on the Working Man Blues Tour. I think that was it. So yeah.

jpj 07-05-2005 03:06 PM

My dad has been to tons of concerts. Most notably ABB countless times, The Grateful Dead, Roger Daltrey with Simon Townshend and Jason Bonham (not sure if Entwhistle was with them), Aerosmith, Jethro Tull, and Yes.

magicbus 07-05-2005 03:08 PM

My dad's seen SRV and B.B. King a ton of times. He's also seen Buddy Guy a few times and got one of his guitar picks one time.

He also saw Led Zeppelin because his sister had tickets, but he didn't really want to go.

++Mainstream 70's :p

ATM 07-05-2005 03:09 PM

I've never been to a classic rock show :/

NP: John Lennon - Come Together

robo2448 07-05-2005 03:17 PM

I don't know if anyone has already said this, because I'm too lazy to read the last 5 pages of the thread, but Cream was formed today in 1966.

Cool fact of the day.

The Buttloaves 07-05-2005 03:18 PM

you know Cream did Sunshine Of Your Love? I thought it was Eric Clapton alone for the longest time.

Walrus Gumboot 07-05-2005 03:22 PM

I have Neil Young, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Yes, Bob Dylan (2x) under my belt, but my dad has 10 Neil Young concerts for every one that I have

EDIT: I forgot Jethro Tull

Glitterati 07-05-2005 03:25 PM

That's a lot of Neil.

magicbus 07-05-2005 03:25 PM

Until I saw the "Strange Brew" dvd, I thought it was Clapton singing on all the Cream songs :upset:

Don't worry, I did too.

Woodstock 07-05-2005 03:32 PM

My parents have seen The Beatles, Jethro Tull, and Roxxy Music (off the top of my head.)
