Were CCR from NC or Kentucky? I was down there this last summer, and I saw it, I can't remember where in particular though, it was either NC or Kentucky. There is this little Ferry, the river is only like, maybe 30-50 feet wide, and this ferry goes back and forth, only moving like 10 feet to get cars across. The river is pretty green, I was scared to think how many water snakes were in there :-/

Rush is a good band. I need to listen to more of their stuff.

I've been addicted to Django Reinhardt lately. I have this album with him and violinist Stephane Grappelli and the intuitive symmetry of their performances is a true marvel. Just fantastic.....

Does anyone have any Django Reinhardt they'd be willing to upload? If you don't have any of his material I highly recommend you at least download a song or two. His guitar playing ranks with the best of them.

I think I can say Django (and maybe MMW) is what got me into jazz. I love the guitar work, the bass, and on occassion just that rich old ancient music sound. It makes me wonder what that stuff would sound like live, or with decent recording equipment
I find myself wondering the same about QMS- I would love to have seen them live

I was gonna say that your list has a better genre range than anyones. As in you have Jazz, Funk and Reggae instead of just basing yours in rock. I noticed that mine is mostly all rock in the late 60's early 70's. (pretty samll difference).

Edit-I guess Schmya had a pretty big range too.

Oh, yeah, that too. There were a lot of rock bands from the 1960's and 1970's that I would like to see, but overall I'd take those eleven over the rest.

Now that I think of it I could put Charles Mingus on my list, I think he's my favourite jazz artist. I really like Herbie Hancock too but I havent really heard enough of his music to have him on my list.

I also noticed how you took the jazzier/funkier Band of Gypsies over the Experience too. That probably my second favourite Hendrix line up next to Mitchell/Cox. Redding was good but Cox is defienlty better.

Cox was a big step up from Redding, I think, and I still prefer Buddy Miles to Mitch Mitchell.

Another thing that went into that is that I've never heard any live Experience material, but I have heard Band of Gypsies, which is fantastic.

The live stuff and some studio stuff with Cox/Mitchell is some of my favourite.

Live at Berkley and Woodstock are some of my favourite preformances, althoguh at Woodstock they also had Larry Lee, and those too percussion players. You can't really hear them in the mix anyways.

I have the Woodstock album and I really can't get into it, partially because the sound quality is subpar and partially because the setlist was kinda "meh"

I dont have the album, I only have the new DVD and the sound isn't too bad. Also the DVD has some unrealised stuff that wasnt on the CD I think.

I really like watching him play "Red House" on it.
