purgatory 03-17-2006 12:32 PM

Anything besides all of "St. Anger" would be a good opener lol.

Jev 03-17-2006 12:41 PM

I think the only songs that can work as openers are Blackened and Battery. Maybe even Fight Fire With Fire.

purgatory 03-17-2006 12:43 PM

Blackened is a very good choice. One of my favs. I love all of ...AJFA though.

Black-en-ed!

MyFriendOfMisery 03-17-2006 06:50 PM

Mama Said is the best opener by far. Coming in second would be Fuel.

Captain Quentin 03-17-2006 07:45 PM

whew this is one big thread guys, good work!

fav album would have to be MoP or RtL

and best opener would have to be blackened :thumb:

heavy metal kid 03-17-2006 08:18 PM

Best opener is Blackened,on an album and live;the best closer in an album is Dyers Eve, live is Battery.

vashts80 03-17-2006 09:54 PM

Best opener live: Blackened
Best closer live: Enter Sandman.

OT: Something that I realized when I was watching the Roadrunner United DVD, is that guys like Matt Heafy or Joey Jordison listen to such good bands (for example, Heafy listens to Suffocation, Mayhem, Burzum etc; Jordison listens to Death, Entombed, etc), but the music that their bands write isn't that good. Just something that I found to be highly ironic, especially considering Jordison worked with the mighty Steve DiGiorgio.

Just a reminder, in 4 days, the 21st, VH1 will be showing that rock n roll hall of fame where metallica inducted black sabbath and they supposedly played some of their tunes. Hopefully VH1 caught it all on cameras and will show it all. :)

Bazarov 03-17-2006 10:44 PM

Thanks for the reminder, I'll have to make sure I'm constantly checking that channel.

kurtnovogrohl 03-18-2006 02:08 AM

I prefer the old metallica than the present metallica. WHAT HAPPENED 2 JASON? Why did metallica kick him OUT of the band?

kurtnovogrohl 03-18-2006 02:29 AM

Metallica VS Megadeth

Why did they fight each other? Although they are both metal band. I like both of them actually..
I prefer the old metallica than the present metallica. WHAT HAPPENED 2 JASON? Why did metallica kick him OUT of the band?
He wanted to make music with echobrain, james didn't like that, and he said either be in metallica or don't. And jason left.
Why did they fight each other? Although they are both metal band. I like both of them actually..
Dave Mustaine, who is megadeth basically, was kicked out of metallica cause he was a wrecking drunkin alcohol addict, so he got pissed off, and kinda hated them ever since.

P.S. don't post twice in a row. :)

Jev 03-18-2006 03:40 AM
Why did they fight each other? Although they are both metal band. I like both of them actually..
Dave Mustaine got drunk far too much and the others got sick of it. Plus James and Dave had had conflicts before, where Dave beat up James for kicking his dog or something. Dave hates Metallica because apparently they didn't give him a chance and just kicked him out.

Metallica gig tonight. Anyone else but myself attending?

Jev 03-18-2006 04:43 AM

dude where are you?

Pan-Tallica 03-18-2006 11:14 AM

Metallica never comes to Canada. So retarded. They come like one night a year, and I never get tickets.

Jev 03-18-2006 11:24 AM

Hey it's pretty much the same for england. 2003 we had 2 nights in London for the whole country and in 2004 it was just the Download appearance minus Lars.

Ok well no more complaining. This entire summer they're visiting everywhere but the USA.
dude where are you?
I'm betting South Africa
I prefer the old metallica than the present metallica. WHAT HAPPENED 2 JASON? Why did metallica kick him OUT of the band?
I'm pretty sure if you like old Metallica you'd be like "WHAT HAPPENED 2 CLIFF?" I know what you mean though. But anyways, Jason left.

Yer, Sup Metallica Inc?

Been grounded. XD

But, anyone gonna watch Metallica induct Black SabbatH?

SimonCore 03-18-2006 01:43 PM

Best opener/Best Closer

IMO best opener: For whom the bell tolls

best closer: Master of puppets

SimonCore 03-18-2006 01:46 PM

^VH1 isn't it?

Pan-Tallica 03-18-2006 01:48 PM

^Yeah.

Best Opener is probably... Hell, I liked them opening S&M with Ktulu...
And when they closed it with Battery I was like ... Sick.

ever eeking always rupert 03-18-2006 01:54 PM

Metallica have just appeared on stage! THEY ARE NP: CREEPING DEATH!!

ever eeking always rupert 03-18-2006 01:57 PM

The "die, die, die" bit isn't really happening very well :(

ever eeking always rupert 03-18-2006 02:00 PM

Fuel now. I am really impressed with James' voice. It's great.
