I love Bob Dylan's voice. You're all crazy  :p

robo2448 07-04-2005 02:41 PM

I love Dylan's voice. But I've probably said that like 200 times around here. I think his voice fits his music perfectly.

ATM 07-04-2005 02:46 PM

I love Dylan's voice. Just listen to "It's Alright Ma". That song owns.

jpj 07-04-2005 02:48 PM

I just bought Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains-Big Eyeball in the Sky and Neil Young-Harvest with some birthday money.

Illmatic 07-04-2005 02:48 PM

Positively 4th Street and It's All Over Now, Baby Blue are my personal favorites

song whoring++

Harvest is a great album.

ATM 07-04-2005 02:49 PM

Tangled Up In Blue is another classic :)

Positively Fourth Street is my favorite Dylan song ever :thumb:

I love almost all his songs though, but that, Hurricane, and all of Blood on the Tracks stick out to me.

Against Miik! 07-04-2005 02:55 PM

Shelter from the storm, positively 4th street, Don't think twice its alright, oxford town, and mr tambourine man would be my favorites. I like Dylans Mr. Tambourine Man best even though most people like The Byrds cover.

Whos ever heard the song "illegal smile" by John Prine? For some reason, I thought Bob Dylan did that song for a while. It just sounded like him when they played it on the radio. Then I heard it somehwere else and figured it out.

robo2448 07-04-2005 02:59 PM

Mr. Tambourine Man was the song that got me into Dylan.

That song owns so badly. Some of the best lyrics ever.

Meh. I think it has incredible lyrics but it's never been my favorite for some reason. I felt the same way about Subterranean Homesick Blues for a while too, but then one day I just realized how incredible that song was. I think the same thing may happen with It's Alright Ma. I probably just need to listen to it more.

Glitterati 07-04-2005 06:13 PM

*bumped*

Some say Subterranean Homesick Blues was the first rap song, just with the audio presentation of how fast it is.

How many people have done this? Is it just two, or more. I think I've seen it multiple times.

ATM 07-04-2005 06:17 PM

I thought Blondie - Rapture was considered the first rap song?

I've heard that too. I'm really obsessed with this song now.

Glitterati 07-04-2005 06:39 PM

It's a good song. I'm hooked on "Old Man" by Neil Young right now, I have it on repeat.

Against Miik! 07-04-2005 06:52 PM

So anyways. Live 8. Deep Purple sucked in Toronto. Unfortunate.

Glitterati 07-04-2005 06:54 PM

I slept through Deep Purple.

Yes! That's my favorite song to play on my acoustic.

And yes, Deep Purple did suck :(
I thought Blondie - Rapture was considered the first rap song?
It's the first rap song by a white woman, anyway. Deborah Harry was like a modern-day Gwen Stefani :)

But the real first rap song is usually considered to be "Rapper's Delight" by Sugar Hill Gang. Good song, that.

ultimaterocker 07-04-2005 07:04 PM

bob dy;ans voice is unique which is why i enjoy it.

Except Deborah was way hotter.

And "Rapper's Delight" owns.

That song brought me to a stark realization once. I was riding in the car with my friends Molly and Alyssa, and I asked them to tun the radio station to 98.7, knowing full well that it wasn't what they were looking for, and that song came on, so I said "Oh I love this song!" and they started laughing like I made a joke or something. Like: "Haha, good one Manda, you're so funny"

At that moment I realized that these people would never understand me :upset:

Why? Do people think it's strange for a girl to like classic rock?

TheDMV 07-04-2005 07:46 PM
Except Deborah was way hotter.

Rappers Delight owns because it rsampled the bassline from Chic's Good Times. Chic is the greatest disco band ever.

I beg to differ there.

You said it, sister! :p

Illmatic 07-04-2005 08:49 PM

Hey, people think it's strange for a black guy to like classic rock, too...actually, people think it's strange for a black guy to like any music other than rap, for that matter. :-\
