lmao christsimpson is such a fag

If anything Varg's just a publicity whore. I mean, come on, let's be honest.
|
the new album sounds better than belus
arguable. apart from the ambient intro and ethnic percussion jam at the end it feels like a rehash all of it feels derivative of other bands that do it better I can't shake this feeling I am wasting my time when I listen to Belus or Fallen |
they're okay.

guess who wrote this
With luck, you can hear the samples above, and draw your own conclusions. Mine are: Varg correctly understands the new black metal audience, which is to say he recognizes that they cannot tell the difference between three random droning chords and well-composed music. So he's cashing in, because he just got out of jail and needs some way to pay for himself and his future. Unfortunately, in doing so, he has done something very stupid, which is let a highly visible minority (black metal fans) speak for his entire potential audience (all who like good music) and by doing so, he has let his bitterness obliterate his talent and instead of making a series of quality albums that will sell for decades, he has pumped out the droning crap and now has ruined the Burzum name and will find that people ignore this stuff after another few years. Short-term thinking at work. Sorry to hear life is so bad for you, Varg. Maybe you should reconsider who you consider your friends. |

ooooh, didn't even know there was a new Falkenbach album. :D |
rofl that last page
i heard new falkenbach was pretty good but have never actually listened to them before... would it be a good place to start? |
if you want, there isn't much difference between the albums, but i'd recommend Ok nefna tysvar ty over any others
|
just read some reviews of Tiurida, most of them said that it's very similar to the two previous albums and therefore nothing new and all in all pretty disappointing. I hope it's not though. I'm on the second song right now, so far it's not bad at all.
|
it's not bad, but all of Falkenbach's music is identical. some perceive it as being a one-trick pony, others as being consistent.

Thanks will look into. Idk viking/folk black metal always makes me a bit leery |
you should take the fact that i like it as evidence of it not being fucking shit. i dont listen to folk metal at all anymore.
|
i remember reading your panopticon review for collapse (I believe) and you (somewhat) went into folk metal and basically what makes it the most deplorable metal sub-genre ever. in agreement.
|
well there are some sub-genres that are far worse, but yeah, for the most part folk metal suxxx. though there are a good few bm bands with 'folk' influences that i quite like. i just dont buy into the mediocrity of bands like equilibrium or eluveitie or whatever
|
yah i hear ya
listening to clandestine blaze's release from last year.... good shit |
Luciaton are becoming one of my favorite BM bands lately.
|
luciation is amazing
|
they rule so hard. i also like the fact that they dont care there music is ripped online
|
never listened to 'em.
my friend finally got me into alle totmachen! and so he's bombarding me with every black metal disc he can find and while half of them rock, half of them suck - i.e. Voqkrre's Malveillance Demo. I am predictably wary of checking out any more shit. He gave me these recs: Pogromnacht-KKK Triangulum & Tzalemoth-Northern Occultism Ythogtha-False Faith Kärsimysnäytelmä!-Kärsimysnäytelmä! Anything in particular I should check out? |

yeah, i just checked rym and that's the highest rated of all 4. though i have to say the first two intrigue me.
will get kkk and Kärsimysnäytelmä! and then will report back with how things go. (ps links for these are really easy to find so if it's good news then go straight away to the blogosphere) |
Fuck, I don't know why I didn't check out Ives until now, this shit is satan as fuck.
