Illmatic 11-01-2005 04:00 PM

I really enjoy it, personally.

I can't, I don't have the link anymore either.
Did Syd Barrett make his presence known on any other PF albums? What did he do to feed himself up until now? Does he work in McDonald's?
When asked by the band how Syd was so heavy, he responded "I have a refridgerator at home, with a lot of pork chops".

I love the vocals :o

Songs like those make me mad when I'm listening to my itunes on shuffle. It just comes up randomly after some Doors or QMS.

Krabsworth 11-01-2005 06:06 PM

I haven't heard Hot Rats but I doubt it's jazzy.

Edit: Looks everyone has theirs gone, but anyone with a Halloween avatar after midnight tonight is officially Mx white-trash.

why do you doubt its jazzy? that makes no sense.

robo2448 11-01-2005 06:20 PM

Speaking of jazz Head Hunters is a great album. Chameleon is an amazing song.

It's very jazzy. Don't assume if you haven't even heard the record. :p

It was one of Zappa's great instrumental albums.

yep, i missed him so i brought it back. i didnt have the old one on this computer though, so i substituted. at least you could still tell who it was.
Songs like those make me mad when I'm listening to my itunes on shuffle. It just comes up randomly after some Doors or QMS.
That's why I don't use shuffle very much. When I hear a song from a concept album, I always have to listen to the rest of it. Radio stations piss me off endlessly this way.
I've noticed kids only liking popular and well known Classic Rock bands, like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, ect...

They missout on some of the greatest lesser known Classic rock bands. Like The Byrds, or Buffalo Springfield, Big Brother and Holding Company, The Velvet Underground, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Van Morrison, ect. Most of those bands were pretty big in their day, but the kids these days aren't looking for those bands. Usually, they are looking for the heavier, or louder types, but that's only the kids I know.
Hot Rats is excellent.
Why do you hate Fusion? You don't like Miles Davis' electric period, Jeff Beck's Blow by Blow, John Mclaughlin...etc?
I don't necessarily hate it, it's just my least favourite type of jazz (by far). I do like Miles Davis' electric period, but that's about as far as I go into jazz fusion. I don't really like Jeff Beck, and I don't really like John Mclaughlin. And as for the "etc"....I don't like that either.

Krabsworth 11-01-2005 06:47 PM

I'll get Hot Rats myself, and then I'll give my jazz rating. :smoke:

Whenever I listen to my mp3 player on shuffle mode, I hate having songs from Tommy come up, because with the exception of a few of them, they're ruined when listened to out of the context of the album.

Krabsworth 11-01-2005 06:51 PM

Wait, I need some Hot Rats, all the Torrents are ghey.

JonG 11-01-2005 06:51 PM

True.

I don't have an mp3 player but yeah ;(

Krab you can probably get it off p2p, it's only 6 songs.
