So, I won my senior class superlative for most artistic.

magicbus 10-07-2005 03:47 PM
now that i have normal person hours, best buy is great. Got a doom band started up with a few co-workers. Should turn out interesting.
How much do you make at Best Buy? That sounds like it'd be a fun place to work at.

Kurtz 10-07-2005 03:58 PM
Just watched another episode of Rock School (the Gene Simmons thing). It's a lot better so far than I'd expected it to be.
Ugh, I can't stand Gene Simmons.

Best Buy seems like a good place to work. Do you get discounts?

NP: Napalm Death - Lucid Fairytale [Live]

Lord Abortion 10-07-2005 04:20 PM
So I'm thinking the October 22nd show we're playing is gonna be realllly freakin' interesting. There's an industrial/death band called Butcherpriest comin' up from Nashville, they're supposed to have a lot of blood, guts, and naked chicks in their live show...Final Drive is playing last, we're playing first, and there's 7 other bands in between, which gives me good time to get hammer-smashed-face-ed from the free booze  . Can't wait...
Sound bloody awesome to me...

NP-Anaal Nathrakh-the oblivion gene

EDIT: Bart, what happened on rock school?
I was at work.

some words to ponder

two girls, cream cakes, my break at work, covered ;)
Ugh, I can't stand Gene Simmons.
Neither can I. That's why it's so unexpected.

Ollie - he picked a drummer (Dudley? I think is his name; the kid who can play pretty much anything, was up for both guitars and drums) and a guitarist (one of the girls, Jesse), took them to a concert to see what live guitar music is like (Placebo - some of them thought it was great, some of them still think rock music is pointless noise), debated (in a debate society) whether rock music has a place in their school and sang God Gave Rock'n'Roll To You with an acoustic guitar in the morning hymnal ceremony.

English humor?

Lord Abortion 10-07-2005 06:25 PM

Does the idea of hitting Australians back home with cricket bats, and reinforcing every available Australian stereotype along the way not appeal to you?

Bedtime, night guys...

Jom 10-07-2005 06:38 PM

Er, clearvision, just in case you stop by here, I wrote a two-post response to your question in the L&R thread.

I went over the character limit :o

Of course, I quoted each part and commented for each section, so that was why, heh.

Steerpike 10-07-2005 07:04 PM

Same post as in the L&R thread:

It's a good thing I don't give up easy because Murphy's Law has been going into overdrive lately.

Dinner had a few setbacks. Only one of my guests showed up. Veronica had to stay overtime at the library due to deadlines, and I know a few of her classmates who could vouch for that, so at least I know she's not flaking on me. In fact, I got from the one person that did show up that her response after hearing what I was going to be serving was, "Shit! This isn't fair!"

Also, her roommate Katie is sick right now with an early strain of the flu (we think), so she can't leave her dorm room.

Deciding to make the most of the situation, I went ahead with dinner despite some setback in the kitchen as well and everything turned out really good. The Moroccan roasted potatoes were to die for.

Once we'd eaten, I wrapped up the extra food and delivered it to Katie and Veronica's room personally along with a hand-written and signed card telling them I didn't want them to feel left out and hoped this would brighten up their day a little.

So even though my plans didn't go off the way I had hoped, I still managed to salvage something out of it.

Shattered_Future 10-07-2005 07:27 PM

Pity your day didn't turn out as well as you hoped...

That was nice of you, though, hand delivering food and whatnot...MAJOR points scored for you with that one. :)

Jom 10-07-2005 07:48 PM

Yeah, absolutely. Having a knack for the culinary arts seems to be doing you well, heh.

I was going to ask you what you were going to do next, but Chaindrive beat me to it, and you responded to her.

So, right. Congratulations/good job/good luck.

Most artistic makes me sound kind of gay, but I figure it's better to win something than nothing.

Neurotoxin 10-07-2005 08:07 PM

I am so **** excited. We just registered our URL for our new site. A couple friends and I are making a random site. I'll be hosting my web design portfolio on it and will be running a small web design company...

Anyways, www.portalsentry.com is the site. We haven't even had time to do anything except add a quick logo. Like I said before, I'm VERY excited. It kind of cancels out the disappointment of waiting for an hour for my friend to call me back, only to check his MSN name and see "AT MEAGEN'S PARTY!" Yeah, thanks for telling me.

Arucard 10-07-2005 08:27 PM

Well i just got back from town, its about 3:30am and i'm loving it. Good night overall, i'm not very pissed and i didn't fall over atall. All of the new freshers in my town loved my skanking to Streetlight Manifesto, so i ended up getting 5 free drinks!

Good times.

Leper Affinity 10-07-2005 10:05 PM

It's about midnight over here. I just got back from work and man, does working suck. The money makes it all worthwhile though. I was especially glad I was bartending tonight, so I got to stand back and pour drinks while everyone else did actual work. Hahahaha, poor bastards.
Don't click it. (seriously)
Why not?
