Kirk like half Philopino (sp?) and what else. It's like Irish isn't it?
Anyone but me think the last minute or so of My World kicks ASSSSSSSSS?
I like sweet amber more than my world. Not sure why you think only last minute of my world is good, as most of the song is the same.

Does James curse during the song Master of Puppets? I know he usually does live. I can't remember and I lent my dvd to someone so i can't check it. I need to know its for school. Thanks.

Shaun.

Why not check the lyrics in the CD jacket.

In BDO Sydney 04 and Rock in Rio 04, instead of Dedicated to how I'm killing you, he says dedicated to how I'm fucking you. I think that's about only thing. :smoke:

No he doesn't on the CD.

In fact, the only swearing I can remember on MOP is "Fuck it all and fucking no regrets" in the last lines of Damage Inc.

Ok, so i dont usually listen to metallica or go to this thread, but i need advice. My band was chosen to play this metallica tribute concert thing. But since none of us listen to metallica we dont really know what songs to play. So far we decided upon for whome the bell tolls, fuel, and we just need one more. If any of you could give suggestions it would be really great

thanks

metal militia, phantom lord, one, fade to black and for whom the bell tolls are my favorite songs by them.

Jim 03-13-2006 02:27 AM

I was gonna suggest Bells because it's effing hot and relatively easy to play. One more, eh? Well, if it's a tribute concert you've gotta go with songs that demand respect from the hardcore faithful like Creeping Death or Battery. I don't know. If it was my band I'd choose - For Whom The Bell Tolls, Leper Messiah and Bleeding Me. Bit of variety's always good!

what variety?

Jim 03-13-2006 02:32 AM

Ballad's and hard stuff variety! Plus mixing up the era's! I thought it was quite clear...

You don't hear a difference in sound/style between For Whom The Bell Tolls and Bleeding Me?

i don't call it variety when a band abandons their thrash roots to appeal to a mainstream audience. i call it selling out. bleeding me is just long, and bad.

Yes Metallica are money hungry sellouts. That's well known and we're not debating that.

It's been done ten thousand times and no ones mind will change. It's a utterly pointless discussion.

You completly ignored my point and what I said.

Can you honestly say there is no difference in sound/style between Bleeding Me and For Whom The Bell Tolls?

I'd tell you to get your hearing checked if you can't.

i just told you they sold out and abandonned their thrash roots  . i think it's pretty clear that bleeding me is NOT thrash.

Yea we had discussion a while back about this, and no For whom the bell tolls isn't thrash either.

BTW if I was to play 3 tallica songs at tribute thing, I'd go for enter sandman, seek and destroy, and battery.

Okay so they play the music they love at that time and that's considered selling out? Kirk Hammett was a mad SRV fan and so he played a lot of blues in his music. Is it selling out to play the music they love and have the fans hate them?

If they wanted money, they'd go back and play the stuff everyone likes.

Most of MoP and AJFA aren't thrash either.
Yea we had discussion a while back about this, and no For whom the bell tolls isn't thrash either.
what is it then? progressive? why can't we just all call it metal. bleeding me is not metal and it's not good hard rock either. it's just a terrible song.
