IF's light show ruled. Did they do that thing with the white curtain dropping when they opened and then drop the second backdrop for the light show after like three or four songs? They did that yesterday.

Digging Gojira.

Nah, there was no curtain when they played.

I saw them with High On Fire, Children Of Bodom, Job For A Cowboy and Megadeth.

Altmer 10-10-2008 09:09 AM

Yeah well In Flames were headlining here obviously. So I guess that might be the difference.

Also the low end during Gojira's set was sick. The bass was continuously thudding.

How were the Sense of Purpose songs live?

Altmer 10-10-2008 10:05 AM

The crowd gave them a good reception. I can't say I recognised all of them, I had to look one or two riffs up afterwards, but mostly they were heavier live. Mirror's Truth was a highlight. I quite liked their opening choice of The Chosen Pessimist as well. They come over decent enough live. Anders doesn't butcher them in any case. I prefer the older stuff, though, so I was more ecstatic during Pinball Map and Colony, but they worked well. Also during some of the ASOP songs, the backdrop lightshow displayed the lyrics to the chorus.
