I listened to the Dirty Projector's Damaged today, and it was certainly one of those 'holy ****' moments. This happens occasionally, though, so I'll have to sit on the record for a few weeks before I can decide whether or not it was the unfamiliar territory I found so appealing or the songwriting.

Was that too long winded?

perriwinkle 04-15-2008 11:08 PM

no it wasnt too long winded. i listened to another dirty projectors album and i hated it, i dunno if im gonna try damaged

YourBiggestFan 04-15-2008 11:15 PM

Yeah, this is the first I've listened to them. You should definitely try it out though. It just goes all over the place with these crazy catchy little snippets.

MusicLlama 04-15-2008 11:19 PM

What are Dirty Projectors all about?

I'm also hooked on This Gift by Sons and Daughters right now. FANTASTIC album.
Ok so heres a semi-new idea for a thread. Basically, you just post what ever song, album or artist you have really been liking at the moment. If it's a new band you could put a little bit about them, good songs etc...

So if this works well enough, we could maybe get it sticky'd ( Nacho? ).

Well, a cool new(ish) band I've been listening to alot lately is These Arms Are Snakes . They are a post-hardcore,art punky band who have one EP out called This is Mean to Hurt You.

Good songs to check out would be:

The Blue Rose
Drinking From the Necks of Loved Ones
Run it Through the Dog
Riding the Grape Dragon

---------------------------------------

I have been listening to Neil Young's Rust Never Sleeps alot lately and have come to the conclusion that it is my favourite Neil Young album. Definately check it out!

---------------------------------------

Television - Friction is one incredible song. Ahead of it's time.

If you guys think this is a shitty idea for a thread just say so. If not, update with new stuff whenever you feel the need.
Fer sher!! These Arms Are Snakes are amazing!
