dec 8 05
yeah girl i remember that show, i didn't even bother watching closet monster's last set, i just chilled in the merch area instead.

that night someone asked me for cocaine while i was pissing. i should preface this by saying i was 16.

it's pretty funny the different paths all those dudes have taken. I mean London (mark) is doing pretty well for himself at Universal, which is a far cry from how he used to up the punx back in the day.

I still remember my first show too just because it was such an awesome gig. August 6, 2003 at the Rockit (RIP). There was human poop in the pit, and I got a black eye.

And uh, Bombs Over Providence were so awful. I think I probably saw them close to 20 times, and I was never happy about it.
You did see my posts a couple pages back about 3 of the songs being Arif's lyrics, correct?
I did, but what's the source? I can't picture Arif writing "the Jonas generation's got rings wrapped 'round their dicks," especially since I figured it was an allusion to Cheddar Cheese's "Joe Bros" song.

Nah bro. It had more points where I'm like "that was amazing" and I play the song over again just to hear all the good parts again.
Sean I hesitate to respond, because I would prefer if you just shut up.

I will now acknowledge the "Points" you made.

"this is what everybody else plays" -who? The devil wears prada?
...
"[screaming] this is a huge thing in your fanbase" - Kezia (the record you hold in such high regard) had less screaming than scurrilous

"none of your unique breakdowns" - see c'est le vie, dunsel, tapestry

Overall, you came here admitted that you stole something from me that I worked my ass off on for over a year, and then to top it off, you have all this negative feedback which is unfounded.

It's okay if you don't like it, I truly don't care. I'm not sure why you're trying so hard to let me know that it sucks? Or make sure that I care that you don't like it, do you not understand why this could be offensive?

and then after all of it you want to share "gits and shiggles" with me at a show? I would sooner share the palm of my open swinging hand with the side of your zitty face.

I will not respond to you again.
Rody on Facebook, finally putting that bitching kid in his place. This totally made my day.

Anglachel 02-23-2011 12:11 PM

just imagined rody bitch slapping some kid at a show

Tyler 02-23-2011 12:14 PM

just reminded me of the time he was swinging the mic over his head at the dungeon and this broad walked on stage and it smoked her right in the face

Tw1ster 02-23-2011 02:07 PM

Moonlight may be my favorite PTH song. Rody's vocals are amazing

publicastration 02-24-2011 04:30 PM

I think I agree with Tyler, this is their best album.

dude the riffs are so fucking good

Si1v3RfaNg 02-24-2011 05:12 PM

Tyler are you gonna write a review?

Tyler 02-24-2011 05:13 PM

It's a bit of a conflict of interest, so while I might a bit down the road, I'm not really planning on it. I might do something a little more informal.

Aaron 02-24-2011 05:14 PM

Does Roddy have any musical training at all?

Si1v3RfaNg 02-24-2011 05:15 PM

Alright cool. Your reviews tend to be cool and help me get into certain albums so I hope you do.

Tyler 02-24-2011 05:17 PM
Does Roddy have any musical training at all?
Rody, and no, not to my knowledge. I guess this is where you'll say it shows?

Aaron 02-24-2011 05:19 PM

Eh I'm not sure if I'd go that far. He seems to have a natural understanding of pitch, but continually makes bizare choices to me as someone who's a trained choral singer. I'm still undecided on his style.

Tyler 02-24-2011 05:28 PM

Have you heard the new one? I think he's finally understanding how to sing hard and well while still playing around with his voice. It's been a pretty long time coming though.

Aaron 02-24-2011 05:29 PM

Not yet but I shall shortly. Slowly going through a list of things I've got the past week.

shortz 02-24-2011 06:06 PM

Finally bought my ticket for this upcoming tour. So stoked, now I just need to become more familiar with this release.

Blind 02-24-2011 07:41 PM

I was planning on making the 3 hour drive up to Toronto to see their hometown show, but it apparently sold out within a few days, along with the rest of Canada

Tyler 02-24-2011 09:31 PM

Toronto isn't their hometown. Go see them in Oshawa, I have a hard time that one's sold out.

beso negro 02-24-2011 10:10 PM
 are you serious?
meh i may go just to throw something at rody and for the hot girls of course

I don't know about you but when I first heard that same brief passage it made me think of Incubus. I want to say the song "When it Comes" specifically.

Destructerator 02-24-2011 11:03 PM

This album is pretty much the shit. No complaints from me.

who's that by

i think it reminds me of like hollow crown era architects or some djent band like periphery but i don't have those songs on my comp/ipod anymore.

Yazz_Flute 02-25-2011 01:30 PM

uh...it's by Incubus lol

DBlitz 02-25-2011 01:38 PM

hitman 02-25-2011 02:34 PM
am i the only one who thinks that Tandem is the fucking shit?
Everything on this album lyrically is coming together. This song, which I dub thee "Cancer Song"..was hard to get into lyrically at first but listening to Scurrilous pretty much on repeat since it leaked everything seems so perfect. Lyrics, imo, are quite strong and this song is obviously coming from Rody's heart and that is something we hadn't been able to see through the poetic lyrics in the past two albums

Yazz_Flute 02-25-2011 07:52 PM

Yeah coke said it. You've probably heard them on the radio before though.

The lyrics on Tandem irk me a little but it's definitely got some classic PTH bits. I'd probably say it's my 6th or 7th favorite on the album.

DBlitz 02-25-2011 10:42 PM
no he means it says it's by incubus in the quote you posted hah
derp, completely missed that

vocals towards the end of dunsel and some vocals on the reign of unending terror remind me of kezia.

Oh dear lord, could these guys be anymore geeky?

This album is finally coming together for me, I love, love, love "Tapestry", such a good fucking song.

Yazz_Flute 02-26-2011 10:22 PM

Tim has so much beard.

Blind 02-26-2011 11:24 PM

@Tyler

I know they're from Whitby, but isn't that like just outside Toronto? And Oshawa's sold out too

Anyone else think that either Hair-Trigger or Dunsel would have been a better album closer than Sex Tapes?
