Hate Mail

So get this, i got an email today from this German guy, via soundclick, heh. He basicaly said that i suck and "Should not be attempting solo projects with these skills, or even if they can be called skills." He was refering to the track i made for me vs. Ace. He then said that i should be kicked out of any band that i was in, and wait 3 years or so with practice before attempting solo's or bands.

Good to see that i have fans. :)

Foxfire 09-02-2004 05:38 PM

I've decided not to have musical conversations outside of MX anymore.

Opinions only matter sometimes; facts are also only my opinion.

Oh well. Hopefully I'll find someone musically intelligent in real life.

PaulSimonon 09-02-2004 05:43 PM

Foxfire 09-02-2004 05:44 PM
I got first dibs on account of seniority(age, not MX)!!!
i thinking im older than you in both respects

Foxfire 09-02-2004 05:51 PM

I actually knew this girl who was thinking of playing bass for her friend's band and I was like "whoa this girl's going to play bass, awesome!"...until she said "Well I mean...if you know guitar you know bass, right? So I think I'll take up guitar! :)"

:upset:

PaulSimonon 09-02-2004 05:52 PM
The one with more strings!

by then I'll have a 12 stringer.... two basses away....... and an amp..... and effects..... and a job.....

Foxfire 09-02-2004 05:57 PM

Hehe.

Hopefully by the end of this year I'll have a Roland DB-500 and a nice pedalboard (GT-6B OR single effects, though I'm thinking of doing the latter).

Trace Elliott COMMANDO 15 (150 watts solid state 1x15) and the GT6b if I'm lucky. (christmas present Mom?)

Foxfire 09-02-2004 06:04 PM

I was thinking of going GT-6B but then...I mean, it'd be more customizable if I got single effects. The ones I want:

Digitech XBD Bass Driver
Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi American
BOSS OC-3 Super Octave
Digitech Bass Chorus
BOSS AW-3 Dynamic Wah
BOSS BF-3 Flanger
Digitech WH-1 Whammy
Dunlop 535Q Wah
Morley Dual Bass Wah (PBA-2)

As for the DB-500, well, it owns the Ampeg BA-210. 'Nuff said.

agreed on all aspects, especially those in bold. I would rather have the Trace than the Roland though.... But I'd still love the Roland like an unborn child. I think it would be more $$ for individual effects, and I would end up having less to work with...... and I wouldn't need to buy/make a pedalboard.....

post the email. include his address.

send him the picture from the three most tasteless sites on the internet (thier addresses can be found in the pit from time to time.

dont worry about it, i thought the thing for ace was alright.

PaulSimonon 09-02-2004 06:10 PM

(I don't like ampeg combos)

Foxfire 09-02-2004 06:12 PM

Ohh. Well see for me...

I LOVE effects. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them.

I figure that having two wahs, and two distortions, will give me a frickin ton of customization in that area alone. Yeah, it'll cost a frickin lot more (I'm guessing 200-300 dollars more), but I'd start with the effects I want. It'd be slick as hell too, to have the two wahs, put a piece of wood over them (a la Timmy C), and use them both at once, in tandem with some badass distortion, an octave up, with a tad of Flange and some auto Wah in the down position.

Trace Elliots are amazing. I've recently fallen for 12" speakers though. Were it not for that I'd try to grab a Trace Elliot combo.

PaulSimonon 09-02-2004 06:15 PM

My family is tight for money, so I couldn't do that, I have to pay for everything myself without a job........ but I could buy a seperate wah and link it like that too.... what kind of sound would that make?

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 09-02-2004 06:31 PM

my next effects purchase:

and this, for recording with my passive bass:

Crapdragoon 09-02-2004 06:35 PM

How fab is that, bfag. :chug:

PaulSimonon 09-02-2004 06:36 PM

I was looking for that EQ...... I'm getting a 3 band amp, so that would be helpful for live as well as recording...... but the multi-effects would take care of that too.... you guys are actually stengthening my argument with myself about buying seperate or multi.... w00t....

Foxfire 09-02-2004 06:38 PM

Hehe.

Well I mean, I simply prefer single effects.
I'd love all those effects, plus a DBX compressor, and either a 31-band EQ OR that BOSS EQ.

No LCD screens to go through. But then again I have to bend down a bit to look at the stuff. :upset:

And also if I do shows or whatever I can only bring what I want.

What I like about Multi is that you only have one thing to move and power.

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 09-02-2004 06:38 PM
How fab is that, bfag. :chug:
i think that octave pedal is 120 dollars, and the EQ is 80, so its gonna cost me 200. :D considering i dont need to buy an amp for my band anymore i might go get them soon.

side note, my dummer has 260 watt peavy combo in his basement. :D :D

Foxfire 09-02-2004 06:40 PM

If I had to pick one effect, though, I could live with the Morley Bass Wah...*shrug*
