If someone has it, would they be willing to put up a tab? Preferably a powertab? That would rock. If you don't want to though, no pressure.
I'm a little lazy with powertabs, but I will scan the magazine tab in a little bit.

And I also like Atom Heart Mother.

<3 Pink Floyd.

Pink Floyd is the kind of band that cannot be cloned, they are one of a kind. If I want to just sit back and chill, I listen to Pink Floyd.

Grant 06-06-2005 07:15 PM

Atom Heart Mother Suite is an incredible song. Among their best compositions, to me at least.

BigTrav415 06-06-2005 09:00 PM

Hey guys, just saw Lords of Dogtown, does anyone know who sings the Wish You Were here cover at the end? Sure, I could Google it, but I'm too lazy. Sure I couldv'e looked it up in the time it's taken me to write this post, but hey, I've already done it now haven't I? o_O

I'm really positive you'd get better replies if you just googled it.

Walrus Gumboot 06-07-2005 09:33 AM

I found "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" and listened to it on the bus this morning. I have to say I really liked it, even through the occasional 80's cheesyness

BigTrav415 06-07-2005 09:43 AM

Yeah, I did. It's some band called Sparklehorse. I just felt like posting something.

robo2448 06-07-2005 08:03 PM

Bump.

Atom Heart Mother is good, I downloaded it the other day. I don't see why Gimour and Waters hate it so much.

Shazzam 06-07-2005 08:05 PM

Just downloaded Dub Side of the Moon...

It's ****ing awesome!! It's just as good as the album itself!

What are you waiting for? Go listen to it!

I hate 80's cheesyness, hence the reason I'm not a very big fan of Pulse.

robo2448 06-07-2005 08:31 PM

Pulse is awesome, I should download Dub Side of the Moon, I need it.

DeusExMachina 06-07-2005 08:33 PM

I finally got Ummagumma today. Awesome stuff.

MalcolmYoungRock 06-07-2005 08:42 PM

I'm listening to Animals, this album never ceases to amaze.

magicbus 06-07-2005 08:50 PM

I like both Animals and Ummagumma. But I like Ummagumma more, glad you picked it up Deus.

Yeah, I just saw the movie today too, and I that cover sucked though, I don't know why they didn't actually use the real song, they did for every
thing else.

Pulse is 1994. The only MLoR song they play(I think) is learning to fly. The mullet saxman is gone. Gilmour finally accepts the fact that he should keep his hair short. I dont see any 80's cheesyness

magicbus 06-07-2005 10:46 PM

Eh, the synths and thunderous drumming are still reminiscent of the 80's though.

Riva 06-08-2005 02:16 AM

I'm a halfway alright singer, if you guys wanna do the cover comp.

WheepingGuitar39 06-08-2005 08:40 AM

You forgot a song more important than Learning to Fly.

S O R R O W
that is an awesome song. Amazing solo.
I really like the light effects during that song too.

Sorrow kicks ***.

WheepingGuitar39 06-08-2005 08:43 AM

In 2003 I saw Australian Pink Floyd doing Pulse.
It was awesome, they were almost the same.
2 weeks ago, I saw Canadian Pink Floyd. They did all of Dark side of the moon, Animals, Wish you were here and The Wall.
Let me tell you, the guitarist was AMAZING. The songs weren't 100% right on obviously but it was mind boggling how good that guy was. There were some places where he added improvised bits of solo, he did it greatly.
And finally, when he got to his last song, Comfortably Numb, the crowd went wild to hear him tear his guitar playing that lovely solo.
Their show was based on the 1976 Boston Show (i think)

I'd have to say that Canadian Pink Floyd was better than Australian Pink Floyd, better than Velvet Revolver. And I have a feeling that the U2 concert im going to won't be as good as Canadian Pink Floyd.
Not that those concerts weren't good, they were great. But Canadian Pink Floyd was just orgasmic.

I'll have to agree. I thought it would be cheesy, but I listened to it and kinda went --> :amaze:
My dad's stoner buddy brought it over
It is just amazing.

lunch998 06-08-2005 01:03 PM

Pulse sort of annoys me sometimes too. It's good, but I don't like it as much as most people here.

DeusExMachina 06-08-2005 01:55 PM
I'm a little lazy with powertabs, but I will scan the magazine tab in a little bit.

Awesome. Thanks.

Riva, I'm definitely up for doing a cover. What song?

moaner 06-08-2005 03:02 PM

me neither.

robo2448 06-08-2005 03:22 PM

np- High Hopes- from Pulse and it is amazing like the rest of the cd. I don't understand the '80s cheesiness thing, but I think it is close to perfect. Amazing solo. The only song I don't like is Keep Talking, and SOYCD is better in studio IMO.

DeusExMachina 06-08-2005 05:18 PM

All the fans kind of ruin the music for me, personally. I like Pulse, but I don't like all the screaming fans. Especially during WYWH.

EDIT: What song(s) do we all want to do for the cover thread thing? I'd say that something like Comfortably Numb would be cool. Or WYWH, or SOYCD, or anything else. Whatev.

This is all assuming that other people are interested in doing this.

robo2448 06-08-2005 05:26 PM

I actually like the fans. I feel it adds to the environment, but most people hate hearing fans.

Riva 06-09-2005 05:36 PM

I'm thinking:
Wish You Were Here
Learning To Fly
Something from DSOTM (even GGITS if we can get a female vocalist :P)
Goodbye Blue Sky?
Something from OBC?

snoo 06-09-2005 05:58 PM

I definatly lovethe begining of another brick in the wall. It is so creepy, I didnt like listening to it at ngiht for the longest time. Funny story acctually. I was in Colorado and the restraunt I was in played the song and I was singing and my dad asked who plays another brick in the wall...his guess pink floyd and I diagreed considering someone had it on a cd they gave me for xmas. The dispute ended when my dad called a friend and asked. I thought about just how much I sucked at music. Sense then I have definatly made an effort to become more familiar with pink Floyd...but yeah another brick in the wall *thumbs up*

Goodbye Blue Sky could be cool. Um... yeah. That would be really cool. Wish You Were Here too. Time, maybe? I'm sure there are people on this thread that can play Time way better than I can, but whatev. I'm down with whatever the forum agrees with.

Oh, for GGITS, I know some girls who can probably sing it.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-09-2005 06:21 PM

Who's going to be doing bass/drums/keys/etc..?

I'd like to do guitar, but I'm already doing Tool and RAtM covers, and I'm sure the one thing you guys have enough of are guitarists. :p

My friend did a cover of See Emily Play that is pretty amazing. It's not like the original. He threw a lot of his own style into the song. I sent it to Riva over msn a huge while back, so Riva, if you have it, you should upload it for the other guys to hear. Technically, it could be in the competition, because the guy is an mxer, and this thread is an official, but he only has like 100 or so posts, and has never posted here. Still, it's really very good. Riva, if you can't find it, I could upload it on my dial up. :D

Riva 06-09-2005 06:25 PM

If I ever hook up my keyboard right, I could try keyboards, but I have a very basic keyboard. I will also have a go at singing, though I may suit Gilmour better than Waters.

magicbus 06-09-2005 09:51 PM

I'd like to do a song or two, and I play lead guitar. I really enjoy playing Gilmour's parts, so I'd definently want to do this cover thing. I can sing the middle to high parts, basically like what Gilmour sings.

IM me! I'll try any song, and I already know a bunch.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-09-2005 10:07 PM

You guys should pick one song, and put all your energy into that. If you don't do that, you'll get several people on several different pages. I'm speaking from expierience from the whole internet cover thing. :p It's never good if you plan on doing 4 or 5 songs at once. I'm not saying only do one song, but take it slow to start with. Pick a song, stick with that song. :thumb:

Riva 06-10-2005 12:03 AM

Well, then, it looks like this:

Vocals: Magicbus/Myself
Guitar: Ethan/Magicbus
Bass: ???
Drums: ???
Keyboards: ???
Sax: Maybe if I can borrow my friends. I gave mine back to the school when I graduated.

Kingofdudes 06-10-2005 12:19 AM

I really want to do the comp, but i cant record on these computers :-/

Riva 06-10-2005 12:28 AM

Can you record an acoustic at all, Aaron? You could do Goodbye Blue Sky, and the acoustics on songs like WYWH. :)

*wants to include everyone*

WheepingGuitar39 06-10-2005 07:32 AM
I actually like the fans. I feel it adds to the environment, but most people hate hearing fans.
The fans make it feel like it's live or else you'd think it's a studio album since the quality is so **** good. I also think the fans add to the environment... anyway once the music starts you can't hear the fans anymore because pink floyd plays so **** loud.

kurrpt 06-10-2005 07:36 AM

off subject, anyone ever learn the solo for "have a cigar"?
