I don't know yet, really. I mean, they're telling her like "We think you have it. But in order to be 100% positive, we have to do a biopsy." So she has to go in and get some marrow taken out of her hip on Wednesday (which I understand isn't the greatest feeling in the world.) And from that, they will be able to tell her 100% that she has it, and they'll give her the treatment options. So I'm still holding onto the small chance that she might not have it. I don't know if I'm fooling myself or what though.

This is just so crazy. Ive never had anything like this happen before, and it's not even happening to me. I mean, I love this girl. I love her as if she were my sister, a part of my family. And to think that she might die and there's nothing anyone can do about it scares the hell out of me. Everything else I could do something about, ya know? I could fix it. But I can't do a **** thing now.

I'm really sorry Joe to hear that, and I know what you're feeling...it's like everytime you wake up you wish it was all a bad dream, and when you find out it isn't you're even more tired..I dunno...it's wierd and wicked in a way but this sort of things makes you appreciate more your life, it's as if you became a much more grateful man, every breath starts to count. And don't feel selfish, dead happens to us for a reason and it happens to everybody; it gives closure so that you can reflect and ponder your life to go on with whatever is at the other side. Your friend needs support, tons of it, but try (as hard as it may sound) not to interfere with her process, she might die or not, and that's something beyond our control, but there's a lot of learning ahead, and somethings you can only learn by yourself, alone.

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-17-2004 07:55 PM

I want this so bad,

The Fender Bassman 300:

300 watts of pure tube power into 2 ohms!
w channels clean/Gain
10 band Eq for a qasi 3rd channel
vintage styling with a modern touch
the only bad thing is it cost 1,200 dollars, a couple hundred less than the SVT-300 CL
wich has simular features.

then i run it into this:

They found a "growth" or a "mass" in my father's esophagus today. We'll know if it is cancer by monday. So I might be a little flakey for a few days ... trying to sort stuff out an all. my appologies. If anyone really needs to get in touch with me my email is lightraven@comcast.net

LR

Wintermute 08-17-2004 09:21 PM

Eep - Best of luck to you and him. And remember that even if it is cancer, it can be cured.

*keeps e-fingers crossed*

Foxfire 08-17-2004 11:29 PM

IMO you should go (if you absolutely MUST have Ampeg):

QSC 1450 Poweramp (450 watts @ 4 ohms and 750 @ 2 ohms) - ~450

Then the ?SVT-CL? preamp.

Bam.

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-17-2004 11:31 PM

oh the solid state SVT-350 is like 650 dollars, literaly the best solid state head in its price range, better then the B2R

Foxfire 08-17-2004 11:32 PM

The B2R (I've heard from karrot-x, at least) is CRAP. CRAP CRAP CRAP.

The SVT410HLF, on the other hand, is teh wtfpwnz0r.

no 300 watts tube is good for me

and the svt-3 pro is great :p

like i said its better than the b2r

Foxfire 08-17-2004 11:41 PM

SVT-3 pro was underpowered imo.

To be fair, I loved the tone, but NOT the power. It's not worth $700~ imo.

And okay :) I love Ampeg but I wish they were a little cheaper...

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-17-2004 11:45 PM

450 watts is enough. what do you need 1200?

really. your not playing the aragon, and even then there is a PA.

300 watts tube = uber loud

Foxfire 08-17-2004 11:47 PM

Yeah yeah. I like teh tube watts.

ocdrumandbass 08-18-2004 12:09 AM

i am a power junkie. nothing is ever powerful enough. :(

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-18-2004 12:13 AM

hahaha, 300 tube is plenty for anything, especialy with a PA

PaulSimonon 08-18-2004 12:18 AM

are there any decent tube heads for around 350?
