I heard the sweetest loop of songs last night driving around. I got into the car, started driving, and it was in the middle of "Sweet Home Alabama", which I haven't listened to in forever. Then they played "House Of The Rising Sun" by The Animals, which also rules (old school blues). Then "Stuck In The Middle With You", which reminded me of how badly I need to see Reservoir Dogs, then Psycho Killer by Talking Heads, which reminded me of how awesome Talking Heads are.

Doctor Night 10-30-2005 11:46 AM

So I bought Ace Of spades and LED Zeppelin II today which are both great. And I was gonna get Ummagumma by Pink floyd but I didn't have enough money.

robo2448 10-30-2005 11:46 AM

I have to listen to House of the Rising Son at least once a day. What a great song. I can't imagine how good The Animals would have been if Eric Burdon could write songs. Still an awesome band even though they have very little original material.
and this 66/67 London Pink Floyd DVD/CD.
Lucky.....

Yeah, it's prety good. I was hoping to see a little more live action but it was still awesome.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-30-2005 12:01 PM

Where did you get it?

Edit: Is John Lennon really in the front row?

Broken Arrow 10-30-2005 12:16 PM

Zellers(the Canadian version of Walmart) I was so suprised.

By the way Canada has Walmarts too. We just also have Zellers.

You see John come in and talk to people but I never saw him in the front row.

JonG 10-30-2005 01:11 PM

I'm listening to "On The Beach" yet again. Fantastic every time.

shamed-angel 10-30-2005 01:55 PM

Neil Young is awesome. That albums weirds me out.

JonG 10-30-2005 01:58 PM

:O

It's excellent.

shamed-angel 10-30-2005 02:19 PM

Yeh you're right there. It seems like the kind of album that would spin you out if you were stoned.

PinkFreud 10-30-2005 03:14 PM

pinkfreud2100@aol.com

i want me some supertramp please.

Lunch 10-30-2005 03:18 PM

I just got Grateful Dead - Dick's Picks 22 and Funkadelic - One Nation Under a Groove.

PinkFreud 10-30-2005 03:49 PM

one nation under a groove is great, if simply for the live version of maggot brain at the end

Lunch 10-30-2005 03:50 PM

Plus the cool cover art, which is always enough to convince me to buy a CD I've never heard by a band I like.

Spectrum 10-30-2005 04:29 PM

A couple different questions.

King Crimson. I just got hold of their In the Court of the Crimson King album yesterday, and I love it. I think it's a landmark in Classic Rock/Prog Rock. What are peoples' opinions on this album, and where should I go from here?

Second. You guys have had jam sessions before right? How exactly does one manage a jam session with others, over the internet?

Fnnrqwin 10-30-2005 04:37 PM

Okay, I'm uploading Supertramp right now. Might take a while though...

How's the Dick's Picks 22?

It is my one year anniversary of being an MX addict

blue3 10-30-2005 04:51 PM

Congrats. My one year was earlier this month.

Happy anniversary.

I second the jam session question. Except I was never aware that the CR thread did one.

Pretty good so far, a little rough in some parts but the energy is high and makes up for any lack in sound quality.

Walrus Gumboot 10-30-2005 05:02 PM

Thanks

I think he was asking how we would have jam sessions, which is something I have been wondering myself

If we ever did a song it would so have to be Friend of the Devil

DeusExMachina 10-30-2005 05:04 PM

I have Discipline and In The Wake of Poseidon. I enjoy them, but don't quite see the genius everyone else seems to see. Meh.
If we ever did a song it would so have to be Friend of the Devil
Truth.

JonG 10-30-2005 05:06 PM

To do an online "jam". You need Yahoo! Messenger, and you just invite people, and voice chat with them.

blue3 10-30-2005 05:08 PM

Or just audio conversations on MSN, but that's only for 2 people..

Walrus Gumboot 10-30-2005 05:12 PM

I still think we should do one of those things where we pick a song and people record themselves playing a certain part of a song, such as guitar, second guitar, vocals, harmonizing vocals, bass and drums and we get someone to put all of the tracks together

JonG 10-30-2005 05:21 PM

I'd be all over that if I had some better recording equipment. This 10 dollar headset doesn't cut it.

Walrus Gumboot 10-30-2005 05:23 PM

I have a five doller mic I borrowed frrom somebody

DeusExMachina 10-30-2005 05:28 PM

I have a 5 dollar mic too! Those things rock.

I'd be willing to do some editing and stuff to piece the whole song together. I've got some pretty good programs for that.

JonG 10-30-2005 05:29 PM

Yeah, I use Adobe Audition and Audacity.

jpj 10-30-2005 05:40 PM

I wish I had $5 mic, it's better than the make believe one I have now.

blue3 10-30-2005 05:41 PM

I use Audacity too.

I have a 10 dollar mic :) ..It sucks though.

DeusExMachina 10-30-2005 05:45 PM

I have Sonar 4.

I want to save up and get a really good mic.

Walrus Gumboot 10-30-2005 06:01 PM
