cocaberry's making a run for ian over in beginner.

Janeway 09-04-2006 01:39 PM

I got new shoes.

And I have one project left.

And I am absolutely going to fail. I just finished the stupid ****ing To Kill A Mockingbird poem, and it's terrible. I want to puke a little. I hate poetry.

I slipped from life as thoughtlessly as I was brought in,
Three years from the day,
That Tom was convicted.
My final thoughts were not of him,
But rather about what I might’ve been.
The moment I was born,
Mayella Violet Ewell,
I was doomed to dwell in ignorance and squalor.
I remember the day of the trial,
And my father perched on the stand.
I remember Mr. Finch so swiftly proving me a liar,
And how he made me feel I was dying,
And how saturated with guilt I had been
I realized how easily I could have saved him,
But I could not, and did not.
I spent many months wondering
How anybody could believe the Ewell family,
Over an honest, hard working, quiet man.
I wondered why I was so spineless, when I had no pride to protect,
Why I so easily submitted to my father when I owed our family nothing.
I remember the day of my father’s death.
How Heck Tate said he had fallen on his own knife
In a way I was elated,
But at the same time I grieved,
Because he did what I wanted to.
I died an empty death.
In life I had achieved nothing,
My time was well wasted.
In the end it would have been better
Not to have been born at all
Because I did nothing in life but convict the innocent,
And tend to a few red flowers.

I'm sleepy.

Sync0pation 09-04-2006 01:58 PM

Yeah I hated that book

Right now I'm reading a book called Why Big Fierce Animals Are Rare and have some quetsions to do on it.

Why do schools choose the worst books? WHY

_R2D2_ 09-04-2006 02:06 PM

i had to read The Lord of the Flies and The Little Prince. reading is better when you don't have to do it, but you choose to.

_Wrathchild_ 09-04-2006 02:07 PM

I liked To Kill a Mockingbird :(
It was the only novel we read in school last year that I liked. Julius Caesar was meh, and Bridge Over the River Kwai was really boring and dragged out way too long. It was pretty much "ok lets build a bridge for 150 pages. ok now these other guys will try to destroy it for the rest of the book."

wow that sounds boring as hell.

_Wrathchild_ 09-04-2006 02:09 PM

Yes, it was very boring. I fell asleep nearly every time I tried to read it so I would often have to go back and read parts over again, and it took a really long time to finish it. :upset:

_R2D2_ 09-04-2006 02:11 PM

haha i know exactly what you mean. it almost doubles the time to read it and you feel like saying "**** it" and giving up.

Berk 09-04-2006 02:43 PM

I'm in Emense anger with my cymbal stands and felts. They refuse to be level. I get a cymbal level, Crash it, It goes back to not level. AHHHHHHHHHH.

Janeway 09-04-2006 02:45 PM

I'm 5 pages into Slaughterhouse Five.
I spent 35 minutes tying my new shoes. Why the hell is it so easy to get caught up in a different monotonous thing than the monotonous thing you're supposed to be doing?

I'm just going to get as much out of sparknotes as I can, and then read the book later. It's due tomorrow. My fan-tastic procrastination prowess has fucked me again.

Maggot Dream 09-04-2006 02:56 PM

Win A Rabbit 09-04-2006 03:59 PM

Yay, Mastodon is streaming their new album on myspace. I'm liking it so far. It's not up to the level of Remission or Leviathan, but it's better than what I expected when I heard they signed to Warner Bros.

There's a ton of viruses on my computer. :( I think we're going to have to re-format it right away, which means I have to go through everything I want to keep and put it on discs.

Ed Helms is leaving the Daily Show now. He was my favorite since Corddry left 2 weeks ago.. Atleast he's going to The Office, though. All the correspondents leave too soon. :(

stevensonmat2 09-04-2006 04:00 PM

lay off teh pr0n

Eww...Dell....

Actually, as much as I hate to say it, the Dell looks the best out of those two, if you can afford the most expensive on on that page.

Are you a gamer? Because if so, you won't get much out of either of those.

EDIT: You said middle one. Hmm... I'd still go with the Dell, but neither is great.

MXicanDrummer 09-04-2006 04:11 PM

Hey everone, I have pics of my kit finally.
Flock to Gear and Media now!

poppinfresh 09-04-2006 04:23 PM

MXicanDrummer 09-04-2006 04:36 PM

And you're looking at Madonna?

I think you might be out of luck seeing as you cut out the 3 things she sings about....

both are ****ty, dell sucks, but the other one is worse because its a celeron as apposed to the dell which is a centrino.

Maggot Dream 09-04-2006 05:55 PM

Yeah, I can't stand Dells. At least mine has a pretty good video card, but they're almost impossible to upgrade outherwise. I'm building a new computer pretty soon though, should be awesome.
