Alright im back. Yes the link ludvista posted is her. Theres some other pics floating around a few posts after too. Basically the other night i got really bummed cause she failed to tell me she had a bf. She told me today its cause she cared about me more and i didnt really beleive that. Tonight she drove up to see me and we spent the last 4 hours just talking and then i jus got the sudden urge to kiss her. And damn she's not only the hottest lass i know, but the best kisser too.

Dunno what'll happen now but that kiss was worth it all.

so i was lookin on ebay for a gibralter double bass pedal today, and i saw this twin effects pedal by sonor, not cheap. im probably gunna be called like noob or something for not knowing what this was before today, but that looks awesome!!

The sonor ones are awesome but hard to use. Dont be fooled into thinking the dualist is the same, its terrible.

the thing is, im going to have like 5-10 mics, an enormous mixer, and a pc.

i have no idea how to work all 3 together. my dad will probably teach me though.

where would you usually put mics around a set?

the only thing i know is at the port of a bass drum...

it depends, I've been taught multiple techniques actually

For overheads, you can do an X where the mics cross each other and point to the opposite side of the set, or you can have them pointing straight at both sides of the set, or howver you want.

Bass can be miced in the porthole, into the porthole, or anywhere on the head that generates the best sound.

There's so many possibilites.

id have one over the hats, above the floortoms, and at the bass port.

Generally, you want a mic on all the drums, on the hats, and two overheads. That's the standard setup. You can also have a mic on the reso of the snare.

i only have one mic so i put it on the other side of the room facing away. (it's sensitive as hell and crackles if the noise is too loud).

I use a karaoke mic :cool:

I have one mic, theres a painting on the wall behind me, so i jam the mic in between the painting and wall, and it dangles there over my set.

...... i should look into that.

I did everything :)

Im a horrible singer haha But I thought the lyrics were bad enough that my vocal preformance couldnt ruin it.

Eh not really. I've sang in choirs and such for many years, but last year I started taking a bit of training, and started drumming/singing with a local chorus that tours around the area. I performed a duet to be adjudicated in a fine arts music festival too, and the vocal trainer tried to convince me to do a couple solos but I wussed out :p. Maybe this year I will.

I was also going to audition for this provincial choir that tours around the province for a couple months, but then I realized I'd never ever have time to do that because I'm already way too busy during that time of year :(.

Unbelieveable.

I haven't been that frustrated by a book in years. It's not a bad book, but it's just so annoying to read. Crane only used Henry's name all of about 4 times. Calling everybody besides the youth soldier when it's about the army engaged in war is asinine.

And, I can see if you're doing it once in a while when you're only referring to one soldier, but he was referring to several at one time. You have to sit there and read the entire page before you can get what the first sentence on the page even implied. Then you have to go back to read it again to see if you missed anything important. It took me all day to read 130 pages.

Gah.

Well I quit my job today, or rather gave two weeks notice.
Im going to start painting and selling more paintings now, Its way more fun and I can make more/hour.
