Yes definitely. The chours is cool too.

And I like the solo..

Jev 03-06-2006 03:47 PM

I guess it's just the production that bothers me. If it sounded like MOP I would've loved it I guess.

MRDuCran 03-06-2006 03:49 PM

Blackened is one of my favourite Metallica songs, along with Battery and Creeping Death.

Demon_King 03-06-2006 08:35 PM

Personally I feel that Ride the Lightning was an album to get drunk to.

Kirk uses Marshall and James rarely uses Marshall and last he used them was in the past around Master of Puppets. James has used a mix of Marshall and Mesa Mark IIC from RTL to AJFA then went all Mesa and used the modded Marshall he used on KEA on Load and ReLoad. The only time James has used Peavey was on St Anger in the prestudio

RoCKinG STANTON 03-06-2006 08:38 PM

I recently got the Album where mettalica plays with the orcherastra. I just wanted to say i was really impressed. :thumb:

RoCKinG STANTON 03-06-2006 08:39 PM

**** it's been a long time since i've been on these threads. anyone fill me in?

clairvoyant 03-06-2006 08:40 PM
I play an old Marshall Valvestate. I got it for free. Sounds pretty awesome.

I'm don't really know about amps much but there's some guys in the guitar forum who know basically everything about amps.
That would be Aes.

S&M... I have it. It's an interesting twist to some of their great songs. I really like it, although I think they could have used a couple better songs...

Demon_King 03-06-2006 09:58 PM

I thought the DVD of S&M was funny because it showed how little theory James knows about music.

PepsiMetal 03-06-2006 10:32 PM

What do you mean Demon_King? He doesn't know much theory but how did the video show that? I haven't seen S&M that's why I'm asking.

CrazyJ 03-06-2006 10:41 PM

I like the old metallica better than the new one..

Thumper 03-06-2006 11:13 PM

You people under rate Rob Trujillo hes is great with Suicidal Tendencies and was the heart of Infectious Grooves.

Thumper 03-06-2006 11:17 PM
I highly, highly doubt that it's going to be a mix of those three. And welcome to three weeks ago, with the anouncement that Ricky is producing it
yes thats why i said most of you would have heard this

Double post was needed

Well we'll see his work on the next album. If it's good then people won't underrate him.

Jev 03-07-2006 10:31 AM

I've never heard any ST or IG but I certainly don't underate Rob, his live solos are amazing.

Mr. Black 03-07-2006 12:41 PM

I Dislike him. Jason was far better.

Jev 03-07-2006 12:51 PM

I didn't like Jason at all. Just something about him I found boring.

Aw3someman 03-07-2006 01:27 PM
I didn't like Jason at all. Just something about him I found boring.
I thought Jason rocked, I thought all of Metallica's bassists rock. Except Ron Mcgoveney that guy is a tool.

Pan-Tallica 03-07-2006 02:42 PM
I didn't like Jason at all. Just something about him I found boring.
I find he brings much less energy to the stage than Rob does. Err... brought, anyway.

He was great in ST. You should check them out.

Any more news about the new album?

Pan-Tallica 03-07-2006 03:47 PM

Don't think so, but Lars was talking a lot about Ozzfest the other day...

GenuineImitation 03-07-2006 03:52 PM
Don't think so, but Lars was talking a lot about Ozzfest the other day...
That would be cool if they went to Ozzfest. Im not into many of the bands on Ozzfest (with an exception to a few), but I would defientely put up with the crappy metalcore bands and annoying 12 year olds to see 'Tallica

NP: Metallica - Whiplash

Jev 03-07-2006 04:15 PM

So Metallica playing Download could be part of Ozzfest at Donnington again?

BLS_Infernus 03-07-2006 04:18 PM

I think Metallica on Ozzfest woulds rule and maybe bring that Ozzfest crowd's behavior or whatever up a bit.

GenuineImitation 03-07-2006 04:21 PM
I think Metallica on Ozzfest woulds rule and maybe bring that Ozzfest crowd's behavior or whatever up a bit.
Its possible. More of the older metal fans would probably come out to Ozzfest to see them.

Britton 03-07-2006 05:43 PM

Screw Ozzfest! everyone is so gay and disrespectfull.

I'll be pissed if Tallica does Ozzfest. They need tog et another good supporting band like Godsmack and do a world tour.

BLS_Infernus 03-07-2006 05:50 PM

Metallica doesn't really need a band to support them but if they had to have one I'ld say either Godsmack, Trivium or the reformed Alice in Chains

Pan-Tallica 03-07-2006 05:55 PM

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/upcoming_tours/metallica_it_would_be_great_to_play_ozzfest.html

There's the actual article about Lars talking about Ozzfest. I agree that Ozzfest isn't great, but it might not be too bad if they did it with System...

... This story is actually from blabbermouth.net, but found on Ultimate Guitar.

Britton 03-07-2006 05:55 PM
Metallica doesn't really need a band to support them but if they had to have one I'ld say either Godsmack, Trivium or the reformed Alice in Chains
I know they don't need one. But I saw one of the shows with Godsmack and there were freaking tons of Godsmack fans. I bet 1/4 of the people that were there were there to see them instead of Metallica.

So that being said. No they don't need one but why not have one?

It would be amazing to see Metallica again. and it would be even more amazing to see them with any of those bands that you metioned.

Why in the world would you want Godsmack?

Besides a couple catchy songs, they are quite boring. TBH.

Trivium or Shadows Fall would be more fitting.
