Well, don't count on corporate America to hold your hand when they screw you over.

Nowadays they don't even have the courtesy to give you the reach-around when delivering a corporate rape!
I use to take it to shops, and it was always $20 and it seemed like it was the same as before with higher action. So one day i did research on it, and now i set up basses like that all the time. Then after you do that, it is just a matter of making fine adjustments to the trus rod from time to time. You really should learn to adjust your bass. Just remember to never turn the trus rod more than a half turn a day.
Yeah, I know, and I'd like to do it, but I learn better through doing, and I'd rather not "experiment" with my good bass thats not even fully paid for yet when I have two other, cheaper, ones at home. They just don't need anything done yet :upset:
Dang! This thread made it all the way to page 247 before I even posted!

We fired our drummer yesterday. It wasn't pretty.

And then I came here and tried to be nice to some dumb@ss n00b in the "questions about how many strings/bass" thread...but now I give up, so if any of you feel like delivering a righteous flaming, feel free to mosey on over.
I'll check it out, I seem to get under peoples skin on here easy.

Wow, Fubar. I haven't heard that for ages. I had to create a business in college, and I opened a bar called FUBAR. The professor never caught on, and everyone laughed the whole time i did my presentation.

moxshyfter 11-30-2004 02:17 PM

 That's awesome!

Hey, you're good with computers, right? Wanna help me out?

super deluxe 11-30-2004 02:17 PM

FIGJAM?

My friends horse is called Lily.

Much less interesting.

moxshyfter 11-30-2004 02:26 PM

Nicolas - Pretty good considering English isn't your native language. Generally, people say "****ed Up Beyond ALL Recognition", but what you said works too.

ShelBel - Oh boy, here it goes:

Over a month ago, I was downloading the new Service Pack 2 for WIndows XP (a mistake I wish I wouldn't have made).
Every program on my computer started lagging horribly, then locked up. So, I restarted my computer.

When it started up, I got the normal Dell boot screen, then it was just black with a white cursor, only I couldn't type anything. It was like DOS, only it wanted to be left alone!

So, I emailed Dell, and they had me try to boot in Safe Mode (Duh, it's not detecting Windows to boot into Safe Mode, ***), run diagnostics, etc.
I couldn't boot from the HD or from the CD drive when I had the Windows disc in. So, Dell ended up sending me a new HD and a new CD drive (nice of them). So, I got Windows on it.

Now here is the fun part. I thought all my problems were over. Apparently when my computer locked up, a lot more than the HD and CD drive f-ed up.

For some reason, I can't resize my screen or connect to the Internet when I tell my computer to auto-detect LAN settings. I go into the device manager, and my Video Card driver isn't installed.

I ran the Driver install disc twice. No luck. I uninstalled the driver, then reinstalled it, and still my computer isn't recognizing it.

It is like my computer just doesn't recognize ANY hardware! My touchpad works for some reason, but I am sure I will run into other problems as well.

Any bright ideas? :)

Did they send you a restore disk?

Was it for the right dell model?

try and set your Bios back to optimized defaults.

Did you do a fresh install?

moxshyfter 11-30-2004 02:33 PM

Well, at least you guys had some fun. :)

I had a Windows Reinstallation/Repair disc that came with my computer.

I should hope so.

I did.

The HD was clean when I got it. I had to partition it and install Windows from scratch, if that is what you mean by fresh.

Foxfire 11-30-2004 02:39 PM

I have 800 USD on me.

However, at this point, I wish it were £800.
