Clearly the best show ever to grace our T.V sets and gloriously pass into our eyes and into our brains to fufill our lives with laghter and socio-econimc-cultural criticism is South Park.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-30-2005 03:09 PM

24 and The Daily Show are very good but they're not even close to CSI's greatness.

magicbus 06-30-2005 03:10 PM

I don't like shows like Law and Order, CSI, The Sheild, 24, all that cop drama. Too me its all the same.

I do like Late Night with Conan O'Brien, however. (Best show on tv)

Same time. I've been listening to the song all day.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-30-2005 03:12 PM

Law and Order is also very, very good.

MalcolmYoungRock 06-30-2005 03:16 PM
Same time. I've been listening to the song this whole day.
Me too!

If you close your eyes and you didn't know it was ELO, it sounds very Beatles-esque.

MalcolmYoungRock 06-30-2005 03:18 PM

Okay, I requested a name change in the "Ask the Mods" thread, hopefully I get it honored. :)

It'll make me a happy man.

Badmoon 06-30-2005 03:19 PM

What are you changing it to?

We posted that at the same time, not even knowing that we would be talking about the same song. Check the post times.

They could have found a better Byrds track than "Eight Miles High".

thickasabrick 06-30-2005 06:21 PM

Would it be safe to say that Obscured by Clouds is the most underrated Pink Floyd album?

edit- I take that back. Saucerful of Secrets.

p.s. Did anyone else have a very hard time voting in the Bassist Poll? I eventually decided on JPJ, but it was kind of a tossup between a couple different people. I actually kind of regret voting JPJ now.

Turn! Turn! Turn! is a good song.

np: Alice Cooper - Poison. I've been on an Alice Cooper kick lately.

I can never figure out who I want to vote for. I usually wait, but I think I'll go check it out now.

edit: jpj voted for Deacon?

White_heat 06-30-2005 07:09 PM

Alice Cooper kicks as.s.

Sure looks that way, doesn't it? That crazy kid's always throwing curveballs...

On another note I got Sly & The Family Stone-There's a Riot Goin' On, Woodstock DVD, and the Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD.

thickasabrick 06-30-2005 07:17 PM

I would wanna vote for Deacon, but I honestly haven't listened to enough Queen to give him a fair judgement compaired to the likes of JPJ, Noel Redding, Waters (well I'm assuming Deacon is a better bassist than Waters) etc.

right, yeah...

But, Nice purchases. please reveiw the Woodstock DVD. It sounds cool.

Jam2Me 06-30-2005 07:19 PM

Since you guys were talking about Mr. Blue Sky anyone wanna discuss ELO?

They didn't many live shows because Jeff Lynne didn't think the music sounded like it was supposed to in wide open spaces. Jeff Lynne is one of my favorite musicians/producers. I have almost all of his 80's classic rock material. His CD Armchair Theatre is one of my all-time favorites, its not in production anymore, hard to come by. Heh, I got it in Boston for $5.99 used. I was like a 12 year old girl meeting Aaron Carter when I stumbled upon it.

I'm not a fan of every ELO song, I only own the greatest hits, but I would like more. Mr. Blue Sky and the disco-ish Last Train to London are my favorites. Evil Woman is a classic too.

thickasabrick 06-30-2005 07:21 PM

I honestly have to say I'm not sure if I have ever heard ELO, I probably have because I listen to quite a lot of radio...but I don't recall any songs.
