BassasonicMuthaplucka 12-23-2004 04:31 PM

Hey peeted.

Are people still into old prog rock like Jethro Tull, Peter Gabriel -era Genesis and King Crimson in England.

I'm wonderin' because it sorta started out in England.

I'm only six days older than you, dude

BassasonicMuthaplucka 12-23-2004 04:34 PM
onions? i dont think so.

cliffburtonrules 12-23-2004 04:35 PM

I wouldnt say so. Although most peoples dads still listen to those bands which is cool! And Genesis have just released a new album I think. (Its a "Best of" album i think)

My dad listens to stuff like Deep purple, bad company, free, paul kossoff, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Uria Heap, stuff like that. So I usually steal his cd's :)

cliffburtonrules 12-23-2004 04:48 PM

My dad is a classic rocker. He grew up with all the good music, so I steal his CD's too.

neal_672 12-23-2004 04:49 PM

my dad listens to a lot of the same stuff as your dad by the sound sof it Jamie. Cool music taste, i always steal my dad's cd's

BassasonicMuthaplucka 12-23-2004 04:50 PM

I steal my Dad's and uncle's records and burn CDs from the library.

To get around the 10 cd per card limit, I use 5 cards :thumb:

Low-B-Mundy 12-23-2004 04:53 PM

Low-B-Mundy 12-23-2004 05:09 PM

I think if you are really into music with a passion even when you get older ........ even really old (44) you will still be into the music. I like my old progressive rock and I like the all the stuff you younger guys lesion to.

I'all about that kind of music ........... and I've gotten my kids into that kind of music.
I even taken my daughter to Box Village to Peter Gabriel's studio. ......give me a minut and I'll post a photo.

Mitchell Royce 12-23-2004 05:16 PM

I love all that old music and thankfully don't have to buy it because my dad has a lot of it(though I still cannot get into prog such as Yes, Rush or Asia) but there's no spirit of rebellion in rock anymore. Our generation is probably the most boring music-wise if one excludes electronica which most of you guys don't seem to listen to(I'm not that into it myself I gotta say).

neal_672 12-23-2004 05:23 PM

Rush are amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing :thumb:, you really should make an effort to get into them Mitchell. How about Pink Floyd? You like them?

ScorpSath 12-23-2004 05:24 PM

Hey all, what's up?

ScorpSath 12-23-2004 05:25 PM

Today I shopped.

ScorpSath 12-23-2004 05:25 PM

Well, I guess I am here alone... AGAIN!! Is it, could it be? A triple?

ScorpSath 12-23-2004 05:26 PM

Well played I say! Maybe I could go for a quad... Maybe.

ScorpSath 12-23-2004 05:27 PM

Holy smokes, it really is just me here! I have wrote so many songs lately.

ScorpSath 12-23-2004 05:27 PM

One is about me, I call it spam man.

ScorpSath 12-23-2004 05:28 PM

Maybe I will go for quatre's record. Perhaps.

ScorpSath 12-23-2004 05:29 PM

I truly pwn page 1744, I think wintermute might be happy, I am helping us catch the stronghold.

Mitchell Royce 12-23-2004 05:29 PM

Neal, I like Pink Floyd on some occasions but I can't say that I listen to them much at all(though I did during my pot head phase). See, my problem with Rush is very specific. I cannot stand the vocals. I love the drumming and the bass-playing but the vocals just completly ruin it for me. I can't even say that the guy can't sing(which he can) it's just that his voice rubs me in just the wrong kind of way. Same goes for a lot of prog.

neal_672 12-23-2004 05:29 PM

Hey Scorp  today i went bowling :thumb:

Ah right makes sense, it's usually the vocals people hate when it comes to prog. Different strokes for different folks

Mitchell Royce 12-23-2004 05:36 PM

Yeah, it's probably best to leave it at that neal. I like my rock dirty and depraved and you're just more sophiticated:)

Mundy, that's the Real World Studio, right? God, that place is amazing. If I find myself as a huge rockstar with millions to spend on recording I will hole myself up in that place for a year. It's the perfect studio.

ScorpSath 12-23-2004 05:39 PM

I like the vocals in prog..

twopelu 12-23-2004 05:41 PM

Hi all!

To Mitchell: Firstly, I dont like your new avatar, in fact, I think it sucks ;). Anyway, I wanted to tell you my sister went to Berlin the last week (now I own a Berlin TShirt ;)). Just to let you know. Its not the first time he went to Germany, Shes been to Hannover too I think. He said Berling is quite nice but too coldy cmpared to Spain (as any european country, you know :naughty: ).

By the way, you rarely go out of the casual lately...remember the Truth is out there!

thats all. Whats going on there?

neal_672 12-23-2004 05:41 PM

Lol don't get me wrong, i like alsorts, everything from jazz to metal :thumb:

So what're we all doing over Xmas?

ScorpSath 12-23-2004 05:44 PM

hookin up with a girl, you?

neal_672 12-23-2004 05:50 PM
hookin up with a girl, you?
Wha?

twopelu 12-23-2004 05:51 PM

I think I will spend my Xmast...playing bass, going out with friends and g/f, studiying (ok, just a bit, but february final exams are close you know), and doing tests to try to pass the driving exam in january.

Of course, Ill spend a lot of time trying to get used to my Pbass. Its beeing hard.

Mitchell Royce 12-23-2004 05:51 PM

twopelu, I'm out of casual plenty. Look into the strap height and a couple of other threads right now. I just post here a lot because lately most threads have been about stuff people want for christmas.

I'm happy that your sister had fun in Berlin, I have yet to be there myself. I never go to capitals of place somehow. Lived in in the states of 5 years yet I was never in Washington either.
And trust me, I absolutly despise german weather. I mean, how is it possible to like a place that has an average yearly temp. of 9 degrees celsius. That just plain sucks. I will come to Spain(maybe even next Summer, we'll see how things go) as I've told you. It's just one of my lifegoals.

neal_672 12-23-2004 05:56 PM

Guys i have to go, if i don't talk to any of you before Xmas then i wish you an amazing time, hope you get everything you want.

Neal
