I know lol I'm just pointing out the vocals at the beginning of that (and the whole song) rule. |
I dislike their vocalist, but I like them as a whole so yeah.
And Cloudkicker sounds very post rock-ish at times, its basically meshuggah + red sparrowes thrown into one great band. And this is the Metalcore thread, Systral or GTFO |
He's better live. Actually, come to think of it, after I saw Meshuggah live I couldn't listen to them on album.
@Mike: damn, I need to check Cloudkicker out. And Veil Of Maya discussion thx. MARK MY WORDS, YOU WILL DIE! MARK MY WORDS, YOU WILL DIE! |
you can download their stuff for free
I never bothered to listen to ATSA... guess I should give it a listen.
common man's collapse is faggy, all things set aside is prime veil of maya |

Common Man's Collapse is the same thing, but tighter, and with better production. So yeah, I don't see why it's cool to be all like ALL THINGS SET ASIDE RULES, COMMON MAN'S COLLAPSE SUCKS. Mike I'm uploading an old VOM song, you best check this bitch out. |
Haha, will do. They have such terrible artwork, I always figured the music sounding about the same.
|
Yeah, their artwork is so lame, but they're pretty ****ing awesome.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp8oTZNF1lg Good mix of post-hardcore, melodeath, and Meshuggah. Vocals and drumming are ****ing awesome. |
Hmmm, it wasn't bad at all but not something I would listen on a regular basis. I ****ing hate the breakdowns thought, ugh.
|
Nigga, you's triflin. :(

aw shiii sun! |
Haha, Mappy you'd best smoke some bowls with Architects and Keith. Last week I smoked a few with some of the guys from Born of Osiris and After the Burial after a show in PA, 'twas kickass. And since the conversation turned to Meshuggah somehow, After the Burial wears that influence on its sleeve and they pull it off pretty well. Rareform's a pretty tight album.
As for Cloudkicker, I'm a big fan. I haven't had a chance to dig into the new EP, Portmanteau, yet. Anyone know how it compares to the other stuff? I liked The Map is Not the Territory better than The Discovery tbh. |
Back from the Misery Signals + Your Demise + No12 Looks Like You gig. It was pretty fun. Just No 12 was really boring. Never heard Your Demise before but they turned out to be OK and energetic. Misery Signals played pretty much perfectly. Shame that they didn't play Nothing and Coma bleh.

the discovery is my favorite cloudkicker. havent listened to the new ep.

Misery Signals are one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Oh and mappy when you see Architects be prepared for pretty much half the set being Hollow Crown stuff. **** sounds immense live. Still wished they played the title track when I saw them would've been an amazing closer. |
Meh I like Hollow Crown - it got me into the band after all - but I've come to prefer Ruin a bit, and Nightmares even more.
I hope they tour the US again soon, I can't make this show but they're way up there on my list of bands to see. |
For me it goes Nightmares > Ruin > Hollow Crown
But they are far and away my favourite band so I still think all of their releases are fantastic. |
