I read somewhere that the live performances from Rude Boy were all re-recorded in the studio because the quality/volume was too low.
|
I'm a recent regular so please include me in this reunion shindig. I won't know anyone but I promise you will hardly notice me.
Put it together Combat Rock. :)
Your a regular here man, i will tell sean and dustin about this. |

So I should be included because I have contributed alot to this thread. |
Don't purchase live stuff unless its FHTE. You can find a ton of interesting s'hit on bootlegs via slsk.
|
Any time you wanna get on msn sean and send me more files you are welcomed to.
|
My Hate and War shirt i made also my Testify (ratm) shirt.
Enjoy. http://tinypic.com/fjfea1.jpg |
^^They came out good. I remember you talking about making a t-shirt or two awhile back. I especially like the Hate And War one, of course. The stencil looks DYI (and it is, of course) and the color sets it off well. Nice job.
|
Thanks man, you should make a shirt and post it here.
|
Nice shirt man, it looks awesome. I'll post mine up soon.
|
What did you make?
|
nice nice nice
|
Those are good, I happen to be listening to the live at the olympic stadium album by RATM, and testify just started playing.
|
A shirt with Song Names stenciled on it e.g. Guns of Brixton, Hate & War, White Riot and others.
|
I think the Clash never performed Complete Control at a show, becasue I can't find it anywhere
|
its on the from here to eternity album first song
|
They play Complete Control live in Rude Boy, so yes they have played it at a show.
|
Complete Control is such a quality song. It's my favorite by them.
|
Awww s'hit, i meant Death or Glory!
|
My dad and I had an hour long argument today over The Clash's punkness/how good they are.
|
My dad and I had an hour long argument today over The Clash's punkness/how good they are.
'sup Clash board? So, which side of the arguement were you on? Hope everyone on the board had a good Thanksgiving. Where you at, Combat Rock? |
Hey Clash board. I meant to post here over the weekend but it slipped my mind. With the changes being made at MX my subscribed threads seem to get wiped with regularity now. I don't know if that's going to be a common thing from now on, but it makes this thread hard to find without a bump. So here's a bump.
Anyway, seems this thread has slowed a bit. Or more. But I'm gonna try to keep it bumped with at least semi regular posting of at least semi interesting Clash/Joe Strummer stuff. We'll see what I can come up with. So, where are all the Clash faithful these days? It's getting lonely in here. :( |
Last night I was watching later with Jools and Mick and Paul were on it. It wasn't a new episode because they were talking about the release of London Calling 25th Anniversary.
I hope post you post on here more so we can get it going again. |

I think it started here in the States some years ago. Jools and David Sanborn used to co-host it, I think. My mom used to watch it when I was a kid. I remeber being 8 years old and seeing the Pixies on. They sounded crazy to my little kid ears. :) |
theclash suck.
theclash suck.
Stay the hell out of this thread if you've nothing to contribute..... |
theclash suck.
Why would you come into a Clash thread and say "theclash suck" |
just filling you guys in.
|
Is anyone yet to find a live mp3 or whatever of Death or Glory??
|
I have been looking and I can't find one but I will continue to look.

I'm beginning to think the Clash never played that song at a show. Very odd. |
Bump.
Does anybody know what kind of gun that is that Paul has tatted on his chest? I'm thinking about getting a similar one. |
I have a Joe Strummer story.
I went to see the Clash back in, I think 77 or 78, with my roommate Kat. We were right in front of the stage, pressed up against the wooden barriers that kept us a few feet away from the band. A few songs in I heard a [I]crack[I] and the barrier in front of me and Kat bent forward. The auditorium was packed, and the kids were pressing forward farther and farther. I suddenly realized that the wood post would give at any minute, and my friend and I might be crushed, or at least, seroiusly injured. I must have had a frightened look on my face, cos a roadie lept forward and try to pull us out into the pit, but by then we were wedged in too tightly. I'm not sure what exactly happened next, but suddenly the music had stopped, and Joe Strummer was at the mike instructing everyone to listen to him, to move back, move back. They did. I put my arms around the roadie, he pulled one more time, and I was free. Kat was pulled out right behind me. I guess you could say that Joe Strummer saved us. He was a good guy. |
Haha, that's awesome. I would kill to see the Clash or the Mescaleros.
And where was that show at? |
Haha, that's awesome. I would kill to see the Clash or the Mescaleros.
And where was that show at?
The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. |
Bump.
Does anybody know what kind of gun that is that Paul has tatted on his chest? I'm thinking about getting a similar one.
Yeah, another question. What was the name of the song that Joe and the Mescaleros played on Conan? |
Do you have a link to the song?
p.s. I love that this thread is still around. |
Do you have a link to the song?
p.s. I love that this thread is still around.
I don't have a link, but it had to be something off of the first album, since that was their only album at the time of their performance. |
