pixiesfanyo 12-15-2006 11:25 AM

I WROTE SOMETHING WORTH POSTING!!!!!

*is stupidly happy*

About a week...and 150sheets of my pad in the bin, and i've finally found my way back into the swing. (I'm being serious about the amount of paper i've got through!)

But yeah, all's good :)

I even caught up with my dots.

ya, I came up with a little surf style rhythm lyrics in the shower today, It's got the same music as a song I can not remeber but it sounds great in my head haha, here's the lyrics so far

"He's the little button man,
got a jacket and a coat
He's the little button man
got blue eyes and likes to shout.
[rhythm guitar]
[Sounds like Rush's "Rool the bones" SONG, the skeleton part]
Concentration, motivation, feel the worlds vibration.
[Rhythm Guitar]
[roll the bones voice again]
She was here, she's gone, She went and dropped the bomb

than thats all so far, it sounds wicked great in my head haha.

there is really no meaning behind it, it just sounds cool lol.

slack 12-15-2006 04:12 PM

Oh, this will not do. Can't you see we're all brooding intellectuals here? No time for whimsy.

Surf 12-16-2006 07:08 PM

I was expecting kitten threads. I see no kitten threads.

slack 12-16-2006 07:37 PM

Hello. I hope we are all destroying ourselves with drink and merriment.

i am the robots 12-17-2006 10:41 AM

Nay drink... not yet anyhow. I did acid last night though. That was a different experience, just different.

Minus The Flair 12-17-2006 01:06 PM

Drugs are for mugs. Except good drugs. They're good.

I'm so tired, my feet feel like they've just woken up from an acid trip, not good. My job sucks in the fact I never sit down ever. And in the fact it's affecting school so much that I'm gunna have to redo sixth form, ah well, i hate the a levels im doing. So, everyone good? I expect to see Xmas songs soon, I'm feeling festive.

Surf 12-17-2006 01:16 PM

The three prerequisites are there for the festive spirit:

1) Christmas decorations are up
2) I've seen the christmas coke advert on the TV
3) I've heard the Pogues 'Fairy tale...' in a public place.

It is officially nearly christmas.
i hate the a levels im doing
What ones? A levels were easy :/

Minus The Flair 12-17-2006 01:23 PM

It's just the fact I no longer am motivated in them. It's Physics and Maths and Biology I hate. I thought I wanted to do something in that area, but what I really want to do is stuff I love doing, not stuff I hate which will get me money. I was disellusioned by money, I'm a greedy bastard. If I had it my way, it'd be English Lit, ethics and philosophy,(both im doing) psychology, media and photography. And 123 on the Coke advert, I love seeing it.

slack 12-17-2006 01:50 PM

I think I am addicted to short poetry. It's all I feel like writing these days.

Surf 12-17-2006 01:53 PM

Are you in the first or second year? If its the first, it only been one term so you might be able to change subject...the first term (especially if its your first year) wouldn't have been that intensive, but your teachers may feel that it would take too much to catch up. I know people who switched onto the the media course two terms in, so you could conceivably manage.
But ew to physics and maths. I can't do anything with numbers so stayed well clear.
I think I am addicted to short poetry. It's all I feel like writing these days.
I blame your thread.

Minus The Flair 12-17-2006 01:58 PM

Yeah, I'm only in my first year. I've talked about changing, but they it's too late. I'm not even that good at Maths, only a B at GCSE :/ I actually don't mind doing the year again, it's just the kids in the year below me are fags. It's kinda down to me really, I'm SO lazy. Gotta sort that out, soon. If I do A levels I like, I'll get better results, all I want is good enough results, in any subject, to go to uni.

Think I'm just gonna drop Phy and Math. I'm just gonna fail em anyway

Surf 12-17-2006 02:05 PM

Well most people only do three subjects in the second year so it won't be that big a blow (they do sound more academic though) - Physics and maths as one subject right?

What do you want to do at uni? I completely changed my mind through my first and second years and ended up switching subjects on results day.

Minus The Flair 12-17-2006 02:11 PM

No, Phys and Maths are different, may aswell be one though. If I drop that it'll just be Eng, E+P, and Bilogy. I'm not sure what I want to do for Uni, it was supposed to be medicine, but I never really wanted to do that, mostly pressure from peers. I think Law or English Literature or Psychology (if i get the a level) or something. I know I do want to go though.

Surf 12-17-2006 02:22 PM

I wouldn't do a year again just because my friends (same people I'd known since primary school) were in my year, so it would have been weird without them, different timetables and stuff.
I did Psychology and its interesting, but its mostly just memorizing case studies.
If you want to do either English or Psychology at uni you'll need to do them at a level, and probably do well in them (at least in order to get into a better uni), but not Law. Law at a level isn't required at all, but business or economics would be helpful.

slack 12-17-2006 02:24 PM
I blame your thread.
Well yeah. It's nice to have a place to dump all my miscellaneous shit, and to read stuff that doesn't require much thought. Seriously, we ought to rename it DISPOSABLE POETRY.

:)

Surf 12-17-2006 02:27 PM

SLACK's POETRY DISPOSAL CENTRE FOR SHORT POEMS AND HAIKUS AND STUFF LIKE THAT

slack 12-17-2006 02:29 PM

Yes, exactly. :)

Surf 12-17-2006 02:32 PM

Now just find someone to change the title for you...

drumass04 12-17-2006 02:39 PM

Psychology A-Level isn't actually necessary for a psychology degree.

I'm still deciding what I want to do for A-levels. I want to get into technical theatre, but I don't want to close down the options too much.

At the moment I'm looking at English Lit., Physics, Design Technology (I did Electronics at GCSE, but the Electronics A-level is practically the same), and then either Philosophy and Ethics, or Chemistry.

Though I'm currently thinking of not doing the last option and going to the local college for a day a week, rather than doing everything at my grammar school 6th form, to do the C&G Electrotechnical certificate 2330 which is use ful for the theatre stuff.

Still can't really decide though!

Minus The Flair 12-17-2006 02:43 PM

Don't worry too much. If you're not comfortable when you actually start doing them, you can change them as much as you like, within time. Unfortunately, I left it too late and made completely the wrong decisions. Good to hear about the Psychology degree thing though, it's really something I want to do.

Surf 12-17-2006 02:58 PM
Psychology A-Level isn't actually necessary for a psychology degree.
Depends on where you want to go. All the places I looked at (I was looking at psychology at one point) wanted the subject with an A, or at least an A in sociology.

Do a course search on ucas (http://www.ucas.com) as that's the way most universities work.

Loads of people do physics and I can't understand it; I hated anything with numbers.
I did English lit., Psychology, History and Media both years, got ABBA.

Hey I'm an electronic engineer. Hi.

Surf 12-17-2006 05:54 PM

tojes, set up my stereo plz the radio doesn't work and i want to use my itrip thingy.

IOWNU200 12-17-2006 08:20 PM

I hate to be an advertisement, but could somebody give me some feedback on my piece, "nobody in love listens to metallica". I've had it up for several days, done like 4-5 crits and haven't received anything back. I want to polish this up for use on tuesday, so i'd really appreciate it if someone could give it a look. I'll also look at anything you'd like in exchange.

TojesDolan 12-17-2006 08:30 PM

You're giving it to the wrong people, but sure I'll help you.

And Surf, give me your number and your address =o

Sloth 12-17-2006 10:40 PM

Slack, thanks for starting the "haiku" thread up again... :thumb:

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-17-2006 10:50 PM

Yea, I'm having a-lot of fun with it. What happened to the original?

TojesDolan 12-18-2006 02:49 AM

It was closed, most likely.

TheBigMachine 12-18-2006 03:16 AM

Thats weird.

Why would someone close a haiku thread?

It defies logic.

Im digging Green Carnation at the moment, also.

FA 12-18-2006 07:56 AM

the top 10 voting poll is trash.

FA 12-18-2006 08:01 AM

(to the closed haiku, i donno if that's about me)

I made one back in march and it didn't go well...i set it up poorly and it died...I would repost it but I hate reading my old stuff.
