Tarot released re-masters of all their albums this month! I need a paycheck so I can promptly blow it on those CDs.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-31-2006 07:40 PM

I have a load of money from my bday. I have bought a Presit album, but I'm holding onto the rest for a little while.

ArcLite 03-31-2006 07:57 PM

I've never heard any Tarot (may have lost power metal cool points with that statement?). Who do they sound like?

JausmetalJ 03-31-2006 08:01 PM
Well, I finally got me some Dungeon. Me likey. One Step Beyond ftw
That album drags you in with the first riff of The Power Within.

Deth 03-31-2006 09:09 PM

I want some Dungeon. I may buy some from Amazon soon.

Get A Rise To Power, General Calrissian.

Crysiss 04-01-2006 01:47 AM

Whoowee. I used to hate power metal. Now im getting into it, Listening to Stratovarius right now:thumb:

shadow_stalker 04-01-2006 04:58 AM
I've never heard any Tarot (may have lost power metal cool points with that statement?). Who do they sound like?
they are kind of a power metal/heavy metal style, with some doomish kind of sound in a couple of their songs.

post your email and i will send you some if you like

-The Frank 04-01-2006 05:14 AM

Dude, this is a power metal thread. Ed Gein are grindcore. CoF are extreme gothic metal. Stop using excessive punctuation. Spell. The "Shift" key will not bite you if you use it in the proper grammatical places.

shadow_stalker 04-01-2006 12:52 PM

I was actually thinking he meant Edguy, but apparently not

IheartSP 04-01-2006 12:52 PM

That's what I thought at first too.

Captain Quentin 04-01-2006 08:47 PM

:p its even worse that he mentioned CoF

Deth 04-01-2006 09:31 PM

If you haven't seen the video for Rhapsody's Rain of a Thousand Flames, I highly recommend you do so.

boobs + swords + fighting lightning clouds + cheeseist green screen ever = perfect music video.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-01-2006 09:32 PM

I bet they can't touch Call Of The Wintermoon though, General Calrissian ;)

NP: Judas Priest - Out In The Cold (Live)

Deth 04-01-2006 09:33 PM

Well, it's up there. Different genres have their champions.

http://youtube.com/watch?search=rhapsody&v=4hOjP2R3wyQ
Watch it.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-01-2006 09:34 PM

True. Dungeon's video for The Other Side is pretty cheesy too, though it doesn't sound quite as cheesy as that one.

Shattered_Future 04-01-2006 09:59 PM

Oh God, this was THE cheesiest movie I've ever seen. It's like a bad acid trip through a S&M shop run by Dungeons And Dragons fans...

Deth 04-01-2006 10:03 PM

And it fits the music perfectly.

You can all bow down to me later. A few vids from LORD's very first gig.

For those who don't know, LORD is the continuation of Dungeon with LT still frontman, Tim Yatras on drums, Mav on guitar and Andy on Bass.

dUSK 04-02-2006 03:08 AM

Oh I'll bow down to you now. Thanks a lot James. I'm downloading it now.

Good to see the gig seemed to go well. And that they played Lost In The Light. It's one of my favourites from Dungeon, but I'm yet to see it played live.

Riva 04-02-2006 03:21 AM

Quiet you. That album is my favourite album by Rhapsody, and the cheese factor of that video cannot match the cheese factor of the album as a whole.

shadow_stalker 04-02-2006 07:15 AM

The lost Horizon and Kamelot albums i orderd came today, and i ahve to say im quite dissapointed by Lost horizon's, loads of people i talked to said it was a much better album than 'awakening the world', but it just isnt as good, dont get me wrong the songs and production are great but it doesnt have the same epicness...sss...sss to it that the first album had. :upset:

still listening to the Kamelot album, 'tis pretty cool so far, parts of it have a lacuna coil sort of sound (the way what's his name sings) to it, but with a male vocalist.

Screw bowing to you, I'm bowing to the majesty of Mav's hair...

JausmetalJ 04-03-2006 02:14 AM

Oh man, how freakin epic is it.

I love it.

Riva 04-03-2006 03:56 AM

I like A Flame To The Ground Beneath for its maturity, and I do feel it has an epic undercurrent to it, but I think Lost Horizon took a turn for the better when they recorded it. It's more thoughtful, I think.

NP: Dungeon - Legend of Huma

Why do I, an Aussie, laugh at Tim's accent in Live In Japan?

Apocalyptic Raids 04-03-2006 05:01 AM

haha.

I think it's because we're so used to American accents on television and movies. I do the same thing with that DVD :upset:
