...well that shows how much attention I've been paying recently. :-/

pixiesfanyo 10-09-2006 11:38 PM

Yeah, but the acutal mods of the forums want one. So I mean.

SubtleDagger 10-09-2006 11:38 PM

You have to wait for J to get back online and start caring

In other words try slipping into a coma or something

Nightvision 10-09-2006 11:43 PM

Uh, we should break away or something. Probably will be quicker to get a site going from scratch and get established than to wait for that.

Oink is pissing me off...I can't get my share ratio up...seeding is bullshat...I'm doing all I can but it won't seed...and I can't portforward 'cuz I'm on a laptop.....I'ma get booted :(

TheBigMachine 10-10-2006 12:08 AM

Azareus for the win, if your talking torrents and whatnot.

FA 10-10-2006 12:10 AM

Yezzur I am...Oink's torrent site is so incredibly strict it's crazy...I only wish I could seed :(

TheBigMachine 10-10-2006 12:13 AM

Yeah, I tried Oink, didnt like it so I found that. If your looking for games, use torrent box, and as far as music goes I either use torrent box(it has the occasional gem) or google it. I dont get movies though.

FA 10-10-2006 12:15 AM

Well, I can't use slsk up here at school on my laptop for reasons that only good computer guys could explain to me...I'm using oink for music....indie and folk music...

TheBigMachine 10-10-2006 12:20 AM

Fair enough then...Indie ftw. But I dont have much.

Me and Nick said that if MX ever goes down we will reform the community on a new board

Nightvision 10-10-2006 12:39 AM

Yeah, I debated starting a standalone songwriting forum/resource site a while back, but I just don't have the expertise, let alone the time to do something like that on my own.

FA 10-10-2006 12:45 AM

I could easily start one...but no one would come and it'd be a failure...

Nightvision 10-10-2006 12:51 AM

there's the problem - trying to build a community... obviously if there's no-one there, no-one will join, as there's no-one to critique your stuff!

FA 10-10-2006 12:55 AM

Chea....forums suck.

although....even a small active community of 10-15 users could be nice...

huh? huh?

Nightvision 10-10-2006 01:06 AM

Yeah, definitely. It's certainly worth keeping as an idea if things do go tits up here at MX, as there's only this and UG that I've found have half decent songwriting communities. There may be more, but I've not found them.

We should probably put together a list of IM names or email addresses or something to contact people if this place was to completely vanish.

EDIT: Uh, I'm sure I'm talking complete drivel now, but it's 7am, and I've not been to bed yet. :(

FA 10-10-2006 01:52 AM

i'm game....btw where's Jason? We should involve him...

lol j/k

no but seriously

classlessness@gmail.com

hook it up

TheBigMachine 10-10-2006 05:48 AM

I'd join, if it all came about.

viva la s&l revolution.

TojesDolan 10-10-2006 09:14 AM

Guys we just need a moderator who actually pays attention to the forum and adds a little bit of life to it, that's all.

Not just some spammer and stuff. CONTRIBUTORS. THAT'S WHAT WE NEED FOR MODERATION.

On a related note I'll make a thread so I hope you guys participate.

Surf 10-10-2006 09:21 AM

cool.

i thought they were just waiting on the mods to get round to it?

lead the way tojes, light up the problem like a lightning flash.

/paraphrasing lenin

FA 10-10-2006 09:58 AM

So....is anyone willing to join up a newer, smaller and more comfy forum while still remainining here? I think if we do end up joining another forum, we should still contribute here....I just think if 10 of us go to a smaller forum, it'd be more personal, cleaner, and almost more in-depth...

Surf 10-10-2006 10:05 AM

is it an already established forum, or a shiny new one?

if i did go, i'd probably still come here; its got all the music stuff as well, which i doubt a dedicated writing forum would have.

TojesDolan 10-10-2006 10:08 AM

Me, I don't need to join anymore forums... MX, The end, TNP...

:(

I can't keep up with any, except MX. :(

Surf 10-10-2006 10:09 AM

you are too e-popular obviously

TojesDolan 10-10-2006 10:14 AM

I'm not actually. I just like to go with the flow.

the flow...

Surf 10-10-2006 10:23 AM

the flow is a very good way to go.
i never plan evenings.
i resign myself to the flow.
this does not always work. hence internets :(

SubtleDagger 10-10-2006 10:58 AM

Don't make another forum you abandoners
