Boston Songs To Look Into:

Peace Of Mind
More Than A Feeling
Don't Look Back
ForePlay/Longtime
Smokin'
Walk On
Let Me Take You Home Tonight
Feelin Satisfied

Mostly all their stuff on the debut is great. Don't Look back was good but was lacking from the 1st album. 3rd Stage is a bit too corney for my liking but if you like it then cool. And Walk On only has one good song, and that's Walk On. And Corperate America is just garbage. Notice the decline on album goodness as they went on.

I'm here. Though i'm dead.
No, the question is...Where the hell is Frail, DVG, Voodoo, RockandRoll ect..
Yes the regulars have not been regular as of late.

I've heard a few songs by Boston. More than a feeling and a few others that I don't know the names of :(. Pretty good. I never really saw them as a hugely important band. I bet my parents have a few of their records.

zundelicious 08-18-2004 11:01 PM

anyone else besides me lookin for a rock n roll revolution

first of all classic rock is about all i listen to. there are new bands today that i like, metallica, red hot chilli peppers, 311, the darkness, and jet are about it though. lately too i have noticed alot of wasted talent in bands. take creed for instance. ok band but i have one thing wrong with them. they r a rock band tryin to be part of a rap world cliche, meaning they will never reach the height of there talent unless they drop there bull**** and just start rockin out.and untill bands like creed start rockin out, in my opinion in the classic rock style, 1. they will still be a mediocre band 2. rap music will remain popular 3. rock n roll will die. people wat we need is a musical revolution. get the **** out of our cd players and lets start rockin. who the hell is with me?? peace

BludgeonySteve 08-18-2004 11:08 PM

I'm content with the current scene. The allmans, gov't mule, muse, Kenny wayne shepperd (sp?), Jeff Healey (coming out with newerm bluesier stuff), many classic rock bands are still going.

Music's doing just fine. I think we need t olet music evolve (sp?). Love the classics but accept the new music.

(I could think of more bands but it's late and i'm baked.

Creed broke up.

magicbus 08-19-2004 07:52 AM
Creed broke up.
Yea and they sucked. I don't think they'd ever "rock out". But now they formed a new band! With all the same members except for a new singer who sounds exactly the same! They still suck.

Paranoidd 08-19-2004 08:04 AM

Yeah, Creed sucked from day one. I haven't heard that Alter Bridge thing though.

Creed = Pearl Jam with 50% less talent and 50% more God.

magicbus 08-19-2004 08:08 AM

I heard they're song on a commercial for their cd I think. The singer sounds just like the Creed guy. With the whole Eddie Vedder voice.

Paranoidd 08-19-2004 08:11 AM

Yeah, slurring all his words and stuff. It fit Pearl Jam. Creed just sounded horrible.

I hate happy music with no balls. If its going to be mellow, it better have something, it better mean something.

magicbus 08-19-2004 08:12 AM

Yea me too. But I'm off to work. Time to miss another days worth of topics! Later.

WHOA!! That's pretty fast!

As for the Boston argument, I can't really see what's so great about them. I mean, they have some ok songs like More Than A Feeling and Foreplay/Longtime, but I dunno, they don't seem like a great band. Not to mention I don't like the singers voice.

Yeah, I listened to what seemed to be their self titled album (More Than a Feeling, Peace of Mind, Foreplay,Long Time, Rock and Roll Band, Smokin', etc..). It was good and all but I wasn't completely blown away or anything.

A good, not great band.

SAME, i have no say on creed (thought they all died years ago), but yea bands like the darkness are bringing back the classic rock style, which is great. When i finally start a band this school year, im gonna rock n roll, led zeppelin is my biggest influence, now would be the time for a band to come out and rock the world

InChains 08-19-2004 12:53 PM

Alter Bridge is **** dont bother with them.

Riff to Smells Like Teen Spirit=Riff to More Than A Feeling

sandy98 08-19-2004 01:00 PM

every one always forgets bands like helloween and fastway two of my favourite bands

BludgeonySteve 08-19-2004 01:02 PM

^Not to piss in your corn flakes, but helloween is not classic rock.
Riff to Smells Like Teen Spirit=Riff to More Than A Feeling
Just because Cobain said it in an interview doesn't mean it's true, it means more of it's false. If you listen, the strumming patterns are different and the intervals between the notes are different. God knows how many bands have used that similar chord progression before Boston and even after Nirvana.

As for Boston, I would agree that they are Good, not great and up there with the likes of Pink Floyd, The Who, Led Zeppelin and such. But for you guys, I highly suggest you take a listen to "Hitch A Ride", one of the best solos in Classic Rock.

themightyquinn23 08-19-2004 01:38 PM

I never read that in an interview, I just assumed.

If I had a nickel for every time i've heard that, I could buy all of boston's albums and have more of an accurate opinon :)
Riff to Smells Like Teen Spirit=Riff to More Than A Feeling
well they do sound similiar but i doubt kurt cobain copied them

BludgeonySteve 08-19-2004 02:53 PM

^ I don't :p

Woodstock 08-19-2004 03:25 PM

Boston are ok, I guess.

Good 70's pop rock
