Criticism: The high vocals are baaaaaad. And the using the high screams and deep growls at the same time is SO overdone. Like you didn't even want to be original or something.
Obviously the high vocals are a matter of taste though haha.

Also the vocals were rushed.

Definitely going to be re recorded in February sometime and the growling cut out.

Bordello 01-27-2008 05:57 PM

dani filth + jacob bannon

It kind of reminds me of Anaal Nathrahk

Shattered_Future 01-27-2008 07:46 PM

Gaaah, I'm pissed off. I just found out we have a school play performance the same day as the Symphony X/Epica/Into Eternity show that's playing here.

Bordello 01-27-2008 07:48 PM

don't go to the play then

Shattered_Future 01-27-2008 07:48 PM

It's kinda required though, seeing how I'm in the pit and all...

Plus, I've seen Symphony X and Into Eternity twice now, and Epica is just a ****in' gorgeous singer backed up with passable music.

It's just a bummer, is all. Symphony X put on a great live show, and all three bands I wouldn't mind seeing live.

big80smullet 01-27-2008 07:52 PM

lol gutted. i just got asked to work on the day im going to see minus the bear. i told em where they could shove that

Daven 01-27-2008 08:34 PM

Deth 01-27-2008 08:35 PM

Yeah thanks, I just figured it out. I have no clue why I didn't tag them.

Tyler 01-27-2008 09:30 PM

i just watched thweeny todd

johnny depp looked like the bride of Frankenstein in it

Daven 01-27-2008 09:33 PM

Is it good?

Tyler 01-27-2008 09:35 PM

It was good. Pretty bland though, and the songs werent that interesting. Could've used more dialogue (yes, I realize it's a musical).

Daven 01-27-2008 09:36 PM

Meh, ive never liked musicals.

1338 h4x0r 01-27-2008 09:36 PM

When I think about Johnny Depp, I touch myself. I hope that's normal.

Anglachel 01-27-2008 09:37 PM

Wait it isn't?

1338 h4x0r 01-27-2008 09:44 PM

Mommy cried when I told her that thinking about Johnny Depp makes my wee-wee stand up. I think I'm in trouble.

If I have to stay in the US for whatever reason, I am almost definitely moving to the Pacific Northwest.

LOL, good reference in your photobucket name, too.

A better burden can no man bear
on the way than his mother wit;
'tis the refuge of the poor, and richer it seems
than wealth in a world untried.

Nostalgia 01-27-2008 09:51 PM

Yeah. I bought the Poetic Edda last year or so and finished it in a few days. I'm glad I read three or so Norse mythology books before hand though... even with the prior knowledge I still had to go along with the footnotes.

NemesisDivina 01-27-2008 10:00 PM

Austin do you live in the ****ing mountains or something?

What the hell, you get such awesome scenic pictures.

Nostalgia 01-27-2008 10:02 PM

Nah I live about 45 minutes away from where those pictures are. I just go up there every Sunday.

I take it you have Bellows' translation of the Elder Edda. You sure didn't waste your money in buying the book, as it's better to have a printed copy, but it's in the public domain along with many other such texts here:

http://www.sacred-texts.com

The Prose Edda and sagas are also hosted there. Right now I'm reading the Hen-Thorir saga, which gave me an awesome line I intend to use sometime in the future: "I don't want your money. I like my own more."

EDIT - BE CAREFUL THE BIBLE IS ON THAT PAGE TOO

That place is beautiful man.

Tyler 01-27-2008 10:11 PM

I really hated the first little bit. It was awful, and not just because I had almost no idea what was going on.
The first hour could have been compressed into five minutes and nothing would have been lost.
Rather like Catcher In The Rye in that regard.
