^HATEBREED man!!

MRDuCran 03-03-2006 10:36 AM

I'm not really into them, I saw them with Slipknot/Slayer tour. I did used to like "Now, is the time, for me to rise, to my feet!!!" etc, that was cool.

"I will be heard" yeah that's a classic. But i mean 'Live for this' and 'doomsayer' are amazing songs.

Hey where'd you see them? I saw them at the Astoria.

Astoria? I thought they played the Hammersmith apollo, or whatever the London Arena's called??

Yeah that's the one. I never get the name right.

MRDuCran 03-03-2006 11:24 AM

Yeah that was it. I was at the front for Slayer and a fat guy fell on me and my nose bled, and my body goes funny when that happens so I had to go to the back with some tissue and water for the rest. For Slipknot, I went upstairs in the seats, I had to sneak past the girl that was checking tickets though. :thumb:

PepsiMetal 03-03-2006 11:29 AM
But for me there's Tallica, GnR, Stone Sour, Arch Enemy so far.
Stone Sour? Suhweet. I'd like to see them. :smoke:

Eh, I was pretty far back for Slayer in a two man mosh pit :D I got to the front for Slipknot though and got pushed about by a fat bloke :(

MRDuCran 03-03-2006 11:44 AM

It's going to be good but I agreed with my friend that Corey's voice has gone downhill. I downloaded a live video of the Heretic Anthem in 2004 and People = Sh!t in 2001, 2001 performance completely pissed on the new one, his old scream was so much more powerful and deep.

I was a fan boy but not anymore.

Hey but KEA was a classic thrash album
I really don't think it's all that thrashy. I listened to the whole thing through and it's got a couple of thrashy songs but I think it's just over the edge into a thrash album versus a heavy metal album.
WTF BLS let the people here have an opinion and stop trying so hard to seperate Metallica from thrash. It was the genre that made them famous. Also stop being so fuking annoying with the "if i dont like them, i dont care what u say cause i wont respect your opinion"
I don't think it's smart seperating Metallica from thrash because you can't. Metallica, as previously stated, was a huge part of the thrash scene for awhile even though it wasn't like every song they did. It's one of my favorite things about them is that they really incorporate so many genres within one song and then a handful of genres in their albums.

And I might be late, but I think we've had enough BLS bashing. It's not helping anything.

See we need more people like Joe and Chu.

I'm gonna try and learn all of St. Anger this month...It shouldn't be that heard...all the songs are easy and I already know 4 of them.

I suppose St Anger isn't all that bad. I gotta admit i do like 'Frantic' and 'St anger' the song alot. But Re-load was not at all what i was looking for IMO.

MRDuCran 03-03-2006 04:42 PM

I think I learnt the whole of St. Anger during the first week I got the tab book.

After youtubing Slipknt/Slayer at the Astoria it turns out they did play there aswell:O

I dunno about that, I think Load and ReLoad were a hell of a lot better that St. Anger.
I dont want to sound mean.. but.. you're a smart asS.
How is this, exactly?
Yes, and you seem to know nothing about Metallica. A band how has stated right after the labeling of a thrash band that they aren't a thrash band. They also said that they may have had the original sound of the classic thrash band but quickly moved away from that scene after there first album.
That post ftw. Motorhead aren't rock and roll, despite how much Lemmy says it.
Let me ask you, if Korn called themselves death metal, right now, would you believe it? No? There you go. Kill 'Em All to ...And Justice For All are just as thrash as Testament or Exodus.
I too have seen videos of him with Slipknot and him doing solos and he's a bit off.
Richard Christy played faster live, usually. Many bands do (Opeth, Metallica, Megadeth, Death, etc etc etc). Does this mean that Christy, or Hoglan, or Lopez/Axenrot are any less drummers? No, it just means that they feed off the crowd's energy and sometimes play faster than usual.
Remixing = The Megadeth re-releases
Remastered = Peace Sells before the aforementioned re-releases.
QFT. The Peace Sells re-release (you mean the 5.1 DVD one or whatever it was, right?) was remastered, meaning they took the original master tapes and mastered it over with the newest technology available at that time. The re-releases were remixed, as in being mixed and mastered over again, and in some cases (Rust in Peace), certain tracks were recorded over again due to lack of master tapes (I know that Take No Prisoners was one that Dave redid the vocals for)
Wait Metallica is Jurassic Metal  @ Kirk
Hah... I remember that.

I'm kinda half and half here. I'd take Load over St Anger anyday but Im not sure about Reload.

Yeah Load is better than St Anger. But Re-load was just a waste of time IMHO.

destroyer of senses 03-04-2006 06:32 AM

First 4 metallica albums were good.. kill em all, ride the lightning, maser of puppets and justice for all but the rest it ****/

Give some reasons and/or stop being a close-minded idiot.

BLS_Infernus 03-04-2006 12:41 PM
Hah... I remember that.
Yeah, I think Kirk invented a new genre of metal on that one  Jurassic Metal FTW!

Lars said that he and the boys are looking into getting a good sound with correct tunings and what not for this album.

Jev 03-04-2006 12:47 PM

Let's hope it doesn't go tits up.

PepsiMetal 03-04-2006 01:15 PM
Yeah Load is better than St Anger. But Re-load was just a waste of time IMHO.
I actually think from best to worse, it would be St. anger, Reload, then Load.

I just didn't like Load at all.

I'd like to see what they'd do in drop A or an open tuning. Would be interesting to see what solos dear Kirky-poo can come up with.

BLS_Infernus 03-04-2006 01:43 PM

Personally I really enjoy Re-Load more so then Load.

Metallica in A would be different and kind of cool. More baritone action could imply with that kind of tuning.

Quickdrop 03-04-2006 02:09 PM
Yeah Load is better than St Anger. But Re-load was just a waste of time IMHO.
I agree. Load seemed like it still had some effort put into it. Reload was a joke, and thats putting it lightly (the first 3 tracks were great though IMO.) St Anger, i guess you have to give them some credit for atleast trying something original, however that doesnt change the fact that is still sucked. Frantic, St. Anger, and Sweet Amber were the only songs i'd say i truly thought were "good" enough to be on a metallica album.

Pan-Tallica 03-04-2006 02:17 PM

My opinion, not that it matters, is:

Ride The Lightning > Master Of Puppets > Kill Em All > ... And Justice For All > Black > Load > ReLoad > St. Anger

Stormrider 03-04-2006 02:19 PM

I havnt heard stuff from Load and Reload :)
