I've heard good things about Fruity Loops. I should check that out as well.

NP: Porcupine Tree- Moonloop.
Its an incredibly powerful and easy to use piece of software.

If you want, I can also send it to you, but i'm at school now.

Just leave your email etc

NP: Ramsey- LOL FOR REAL THIS TIME

I shit you not. My playlist went back to the beginning just now.

There was something else that was important that I wanted to say, but I have forgotten it :(

ATM 03-01-2005 03:43 PM
Well, I use a program called Fruity Loops.

Fruity loops lets you prgram drums in patterns, and just loops them for you. You can find drum files (like, each individual drum) on the internet, and the best one imo is Drum Kit From Hell, which is what I used on this song.

I can send you Fruity Loops and DKFH if you want man, just give me your MSN/AIM.

Disclaimer: They are huge files

i use a Behringer V-amp 2...just as good if not better than a POD and CHEAPER! i love the dam thing, comes with everything u need to plug and play, works as a preamp and effect processor....if u got an extra $100, id say try it at least!
Well, i'd have to try it out.

Can you upload some files/samples? I'd like to hear it, if its better than the POD.

IMO, for me, the POD is unparalleled.

AHAHAHAH

Enjoy :p

Metallica: well, fruity loops basically allows you to make drum tracks for any song, and loops them for you.
Alright, ill start uploading.
Didja see my second post?

Upload that James Brown ish, and the non-Shaft soundtrack Isaac Hayes ish, too. Please.

I will wait until I get the interface I mentioned, so I can actually make use of it. If I remember you had it, I'll talk to you then. :thumb:

EDIT: I write drum parts in Finale Guitar, a notation program. Is there any way I could input the MIDIs from that program into Fruity Loops and get the same drum patterns except have it be more real-sounding?

it does basically EVERYTHING the POD does, ive made settings on it almost perfectly matching Shadows Fall and Meshuggah(Chaosphere)...imo the clean effects blow away the distortions though

Jom 03-01-2005 03:47 PM

GOD DAMMIT

One of my CDs is just straight-up broken. I went to put it in, and it's broken. I know for sure I didn't leave it like that

I just read all 20 pages of the 'Semi-weird turn ons' thread in the pit. Ooh if I could have the time back... I could waste it on something else..

Nothing makes me angrier than broken CDs. My brother always borrows mine because he's not much more than a bum, and I always get them back in terrible shape. I bought a Jimi Hendrix cd...two days later I found it in his room and the inside liner notes were all torn up. And I found one of my CDs in our car smashed on the seat, apparently he decided to take it without asking, and then one of his friends sat on it.

I don't think they would sound more real.....unless you masked those midi notes with real sounding drums.....for example:

A friend of mine (Drall, on this site) basically writes his drums in Guitar Pro, in midi. Then he moves the midi to Fruity Loops, and somehow ( ) he masks the midi with DKFH (drumkit from hell), so that all the midi sounds like authentic drums.

Either way, i've had no experience with midi. But I can tell you this, i'll send you DKFH sometime (its awesome, because its all .wav files and not midi, so its all real), and you can make your patterns in Fruity Loops.

Your friend's friend is a fat mess.

Six Foot Revolver 03-01-2005 03:55 PM

me and my two brothers all have a very different taste in music so there is very little borrowing going on

Cain 03-01-2005 03:55 PM

Hey man, guitarbt.com got shut down! What the hell?

Good thing I downloaded like a ton of their backing tracks before it got shut down.

I HATE BROKEN CDS

Hooray for the MP3/Wav era that is coming upon us! :)

SonorKen 03-01-2005 03:56 PM

^^^^ I actually back up all my cds. When I get a new one I immediatly copy it and put the original in the case and in a safe place. When I wear out or destroy the copy I burn another one off the harddrive of my laptop.
